When China builds Roads, Ports & Rail to other countries, some call it “invasion”.
When America drops bombs on other countries, some call it “liberation,”
But without infrastructure poor countries remain in a "Poverty Trap of Stagnation".
Infrastructure is the essential platform for countries to grow and modernize.

I’ve actually benefited a lot as an average citizen:
I shifted to Pakistan 5 years ago and we had electricity cuts for around 4-5 hours a day! Now it’s 0, and the electricity only goes 5-6 times a year!
I would previously use a dangerous, broken road for going b/w my hometown and work town which would take 8 hours, but now a motorway is constructed and it takes only 3
Gwadar has completely, transformed and I find myself touring it like 8-9 times a year now
*these are enough for me to consider this a win-win situation* no matter they build a military base or whatever

Take it from another western man. The deal that China did with Sri Lanka was still far more favorable than the USAs usual strategy of just installing a leader and buying him off while the public starve. Here Sri Lanka actually had a chance to benefit but just didn't uphold their part of the deal. Some might argue that it wasn't a fair deal to begin with, but at least Sri Lanka had a choice. It's insane to me that no one seems to judge China compared to the US. The US spies on it's population and lies about it, puts immigrants and children in cages and they have started more wars in my lifetime than I care to count. But China is the country that everyone is worried about.

Umm... Pakistan already has 4 metro lines operational with the first being in Lahore, opened back in 2013. The other 3 have since been constructed in Islamabad, Multan and recently in Peshawar. And these metro lines do not fall under CPEC either. Now, some might argue that those are BRT (Bus Rapid Transits) but they're still metro lines anyways with dedicated and segregated routes (both on ground and elevated) and stations etc... doesn't really matter whether there is a long bus or a rail running on that.
The Orange Line in Lahore is the first metro rail project to be precise. But even then, Karachi Circular Railway was a sort of metro rail that ran throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s until it went defunct at the turn of the century due to excessive corruption and disrepair.

@@romananedb4117 Ahh not quite dude. There was never a war (post WW2) with Japan, Taiwan and Mongolia; That's just flat out wrong. And as for India, Vietnam and Tibet, Things are much more complicated than that... Well not really if you read history.
The disputed territory in India were taken away from China during the Qing Dynasty by the British and was never recognised, thus the contention. And it was India that provoked the war with Nehru's forward policy. Some Indians considered it to be one of India's biggest mistakes and wonder what Sino-Indian ties might look like today had Nehru accepted Zhou Enlai's proposal of swapping Askai Chin and South Tibet or something like that, But India at the time wanted all of it.
The island disputed between China and Japan (and also Taiwan) use to be also part of the Qing Dynasty, but was annexed by Japan in 1895 along with Taiwan. When WW2 came to an end, The United Nations agreed to give the islands to the Republic of China. But since the Republic of China lost the civil war to the Communist, and had to escape to Taiwan, the legal status of the islands became complicated, especially with the growing threat of communism to the US. But both the PRC and ROC (Taiwan) have never waged a war against Japan for it lol.
Taiwan, like I said, is officially called the Republic of China, and the Chinese civil war never officially ended, so Aggressions happened from both sides for obvious reasons. The PRC consider itself as the successor state of the Republic of China, which is why they claim Taiwan. The KMT party, and a few other minor parties, on the other hand claim the ROC to be the legitimate government of all of mainland China, plus every land the was still part of the Qing Dynasty in 1911. the DPP of course wants Taiwan to be an independent country, but the other parties will never allow it. We might see a military coup by pro KMT generals if Tsai Yingwen ever declares independence much sooner than the PLA can mount an invasion. The situation in Taiwan always depends on which party is in power. If the DPP is in power, there would be, as you would see in the news, a lot of acrimony; if the KMT is in power, then Taiwan would have a cordial albeit wary relation with the Mainland.
Tibet - the legal reason is because it was part of the Qing Dynasty and both the ROC and PRC claim it because they are the successor state - the Qing emperor abdicated and all its territories were handed over to the new government. Tibet gained de facto independence for a few decades when China was in the midst of a several decade long civil war, but the independence of Tibet was never recognised by China's successor governments nor by the League of Nations (which to be fair was a pretty useless organisation) The real reason on the other hand is because Tibet is a highly valuable strategic place with a lot of fresh water supply. If China didn't get Tibet, India would.
"Parts of Mongolia" I'm not sure what you're referring to. Mongolia at one point was, as you can already tell, part of the Qing Dynasty and was also briefly part of the early Republic of China until it splintered away thanks to Russia intervention. The ROC still considers Mongolia to be part of China, while the PRC has recognised Mongolia since 1949 and has NEVER waged war with Mongolia because it was a satellite state of the Soviet Union who wanted a buffer state. Thats the whole point of an independent Mongolia; a buffer state for Russia like Poland.
As for Vietnam, After WW2, the United Nation granted all of the South China Sea to the Republic of China, and just like the island dispute with Japan, Communist China Defeated the Nationalists and so the legal status of the Islands in the region became complicated especially when other SEA nations also began claiming it when the rich resources of the region became apparent.
Essentially what I'm trying to say is, if life was a Hearts of Iron game, China would have cores on all those territories, so none of these 'aggressions' are exactly unwarranted. And this is in comparison with other Great Powers like those in Europe and America who have in the past annex other countries out of the blue for their resources, strategic reasons, or just simply competing in the "great game" to see who gets the most land. I mean America and her allies still do that today with the Middle East and Latin America and Africa -- bombing and killings tens of millions of brown people and staging coups against their governments so they can become marionette states which is infinitely less tame than China reclaiming territories it never gave up on.

Actually, Sri Lanka sold 70% of Hambantota port to China because it needed the money. Sri Lanka was and still is seriously in debt, much of it at interest rates like 6%. The Hambantota port was financed at 1.5% so what Sri Lanka did with the money was pay down some of its 6% debt then kept the 1.5% debt to China. As you can see from the facts, the statement that "we'll just take that port for a hundred years" is quite wrong. Sri Lanka asked China to buy a 50 year lease in order to alleviate Sri Lanka's debt problems with its western lenders. A bit of honesty wouldn't go astray here.

This is one of China's ways of exporting more goods, from its industrial powerhouse of an economy... While I do think there are questionable motives behind it... They are building and improving the infrastructure of many nations around the world... Something the British industrial revolution did with those same countries... While its not an empire in name, it certainly is political influence over large swathes of the world, like in Africa and in Asia.

We need education for 70% population, money for 60% people living below poverty line, employment, poor infrastructure, solutions for safety and terrorism and China is the one who can provide all these to us.
Most important, China is the one who can give befitting reply to India and China can stand with us against India.

They give the loan to poor countries, with the terms that only chinese companies will complete the project and all raw material will be brought from china.
The country sure get infrastructure but it doesn't revive their own industries which is important part of any project.
Pakistan will pay 65b dollar with 3.5% annual interest. Imagine the boom in Pakistani construction sector and other industries if they had got this project. 65b$ would be pumped in Economy and plus long term revival of that sector. Exports would be increased.
