lol. i check the retail prices and then immediately buy mine from thrift stores or online for 1/4 the retail price. You can pay $80 at stores vs paying $20 or less for an identical blue scrub shirt and scrub pants. Yay, math! 😆🤑
Crystal Atkins If you work on the surgical floor then you are given surgical scrubs If you work on a different floor like pediatrics or labor and delivery you have to buy your own scrubs at least that’s how my hospital does it
I have lots of pockets on my scrubs. At the end of my shift, I go home and I find all kinds of stuff in my pockets. Gloves, alcohol pads, a lot of pens/markers that didn’t belong to me(oops sorry) more gloves, somebody else’s notes that I took on accident 🤦♀️ u name it lmao. a fork,
Mimi Mimi I just started work in a commercial bakery and we have to wear scrubs, how do ya'll deal with that many pockets?! I keep losing things because they're in a different pocket
Mimi Mimi I mean i'll put something in a pocket, forget which one and have to spend time checking each pocket, and it's always the last one I check. that's just me being forgetful though
Hahahaha I have to wear scrub pants (any top we want but we all wear scrub pants, and a lab coat and lab dedicated shoes) and by the end of the day I swear I brought half the lab home with me. I have found micro spatulas, gloves, wadded Kim wipes, alcohol pads, pens, extra safety glasses (no idea whos!) And even 2 straws once! I swear stuff just jumps in waiting for me to adopt it!
Being a Swedish Nurse Student, I'm happy that we get our scrubs from the hospital, pick out our size before we start our shift, go and change, work and then just put them in the laundry basket. Not bringing the dirty work-clothes home and never having to spend my money on scrubs for work. Sure everybody looks the same, no fun scrubs patterns or colours but I put my personal touch on my pocket-protector and name-badge.
Yes, to everything you said. Plus the PILE of scrubs that you try on in the dressing room where you criticize yourself in them in front of the mirror; "Does my butt look big in these?, Does it have a pocket for my ... trauma shears, and my pens, and my brain sheet, and my phone, and my flushes, and my snacks? Are these long enough, how are these considered TALL? Should I get them in black or grey, yeah black goes with everything. OMG they have COMPRESSION SOCKS!!!!"....
“Do you think my pants will fall down if I use all the pockets?” EXACTLY. As a CNA and Nursing Student, I always find Cherokee pants slip when all the pockets are being used 😭
I live by some, but they are super expensive. Go to walmart they have cute ones and they aren't that expensive. Now if you really are in a tight budget my other suggestion is DD's discount.
YES! Im a first year nursing student and pretty much complain about our uniforms every time I go into a scrub store 😂 not to mention wanting fancy danskos!
A quick tip one of our retiring nurses gave me was hang your scrubs when they're still like water dripping wet in the sun and it "steams" it in the sun and they dry super nice and crisp
Blake I am going through such a hard time and I found your videos today and have been smiling so big and laughing bc I can relate to scrub life. Thank you for making me smile:)
At least you get to choose colors. I am a nursing student in Norway and you use white uniforms from the hospital that are unisex and look baggy as hell + they are always super wrinkled + some have small holes+ they look like made from a badly cut flour bag.
@@mrp_27 We also have a mandatory uniform for my nursing school in the US, but it's white tops over maroon pants instead of all white. The school only allows one brand of scrubs, and most of the scrub pants that come in the right color are really rough and scratchy at the seams :( On the plus side, that brand's scrubs have a little elasticity, so they're not as baggy as your seem to be.
Ooofff That was scrubs and beyond. Was a nightmare to work in that place. Never had a job that made it so apparent they don't care about their employees. Tip for nurses: Unless you want scrubs and beyond or Elle brand scrubs, you can find everything for cheaper at other places. If you do want those, they are 100% of the time cheaper online than in stores. I mean the common ones like Dickies, Grey's Anatomy (yes it's a legit brand and actually a good one) etc etc Danskos are ugly but I've never worn more comfortable shoes. To those who have never worn them and on the fence lol As for hospital discounts, at least in my old location, depended which hospital. Some did have deals with us, others did not. We had military discounts always though. We also regularly gave come back coupons. I did work there quite a while ago so not sure if things changed. But that's how it was around 4ish years ago
What about the scrub pants that have a string to keep them on? you tie the string and you go to the bathroom and you can't get them off! and you pray "Sweet Jesus, get these off so I don't go in my pants!"
I was doing the pee dance the other day in the bathroom for 2 minutes straight trying to untie my waist band string that somehow got tied in a tiny little knot. It was horrific, I seriously thought I was going to pee myself.
Or you go to the toilet and your side strings fall into the toilet. You have to change your pants. I had a colleague's string become undone and their pants fell to their knees.
Everytime this pops up on any of my social media I watch it. It's been definitely close to 100 times now and it's still not getting old.... and I'm not even a nurse lol you're just brilliant
@00:48 I thought he was going to say in case there's a fire. I was like sure, like nurses have any chance of running from a burning building even if they wanted to. Lol 😂😂😂😭😭😭
In 11th grade I had to go to the scrub store for the first time because of my allied health class, and the blue thing is so accurate omg. The hospital wanted a specific blue and it took forever to find it. And worse, that specific scrub store only had that blue in baggy unisex scrubs that were basically one size fits all
"i wish we were peads nurses so we can wear something fun, but we can't" 😂😂I really felt that one in the bottom of my soul but there's always Christmas for fun scrubs.
I am not a nurse, I don’t know any references you make or what any nurse lingo but you are too cute and I love watching you! 😂 i Imagine nurses who get it must be rolling over laughing
I work in the biotech industry now. But I used to work in a nursing home as a CNA and pharmacy tech and this guy is so relatable. There is something special about that job that allows you to wear scrubs. 😂 There are so many accessories. The healthcare field has the best uniforms hands down. However, there is nothing worse than working at that place that only allows you to wear one color, navy blue.
I think my iPad was listening to me, because I bought scrubs 4 days ago. And yes, they are “blue that are blue” and Dickies with quite a few pockets in the pants! PS. I am a guy and CNA. Shout out to the guys!
I am CRACKING UP...I worked at lamberts. I know these scrubs. And the shoes. And the gear... and the nurses that would come in and ask ALL the questions you did.
In Sweden the hospitals provide us with scrubs and wash them everyday. Everything is white and you can choose from normal scrubs, t-shirts and dresses. We also have warm jackets without arms.
I was told "your department color is Royal Blue" ....ok, first day in my "Royal Blue" (labeled) scrubs for first day on the floor.....eggggh...."wrong color sister"!! Showed the "Royal Blue" tag argument insued between other "sister's"...at the time of lunch I went to HR stated my case.....when I returned from lunch not a word about it said again! 🤐😶🤐.....🤷whats a sister to do? I'm new, I don't know any better!
Flight attendants where danskos also. Super comfy. Also my mom is a nurse and she use to get fun colors and prints for Christmas. Now they changed to all black only. So now she dies fun print compression socks and badge clips.
I used to work at a scrub store before nursing school and all of this is accurate. “Do you guys give hospital discounts?” NO THATS LITERALLY 90% OF OUR CUSTOMER BASE
As a vet tech student, I still relate. We have to wear navy blue scrubs our first year and then green scrubs the second year. The pockets are the BEST. Why are there so many blue options and not so many green??? 😂 but honestly I love scrubs because they are so comfortable and shopping for them is my favorite. I don’t usually like shopping for things. Fandom clothes and scrubs are my exceptions. 😂😂
I made my own scrub-top, adding pichets from pillowcases (quilting) so I had half à "printed scrub top"./ I used my Cotton scrub tops with coller, white, which allowed my skin to breathe..(because light coton, 2% scander...it was 35 degrees C, including in dryer room..had to take cold shower to not pass out in the private residence (80 beds) where I worked.. use some comfortable dark blue scrub pants, now also as pyjamas
“Do you think this will look good in a yellow contact gown?”
“I need something that is comfortable to chart in but also to run in if there’s a code”
Lauren King yellow contact gown always look good with any color 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Natalie Gutierrez he says those in the video.
Natalie Gutierrez did you even watch the video?
you may want to buy a humor muscle if u did not get the joke😁 or may be u r not in nursing...ma bad!
And .... can we get more pockets? 😂🤣😂
Haha "but we can't" 😂
"Do you think my pants will fall down if I used ALL the pockets" lol, always yes
Michelle Grasby my pants are always halfway off my butt cheeks lmao. I always have shit in these pockets that’s why hehe
Drawstrings!
the answer is yes, i pull my pants up ALL day long, keys, stethoscopes, gloves, paper, pens
answer is yes haha
Yes. The answer is yes.
Omg finally I have found the person who acts exactly like me hahaha more male nurses
🙋💜me too! 🤭 LOL....AND every "Sister" who goes "shopping" with me! 🤭🤭💜💜💜💜💙
1
Can I just say, you actually look like Blake a little bit
nurse blake is my male nursing idol
lol. i check the retail prices and then immediately buy mine from thrift stores or online for 1/4 the retail price. You can pay $80 at stores vs paying $20 or less for an identical blue scrub shirt and scrub pants. Yay, math! 😆🤑
His personality is so endearing. He’s so happy
I’m not a nurse and he’s hysterical! So glad I found this channel
i honestly thought nurses were just given scrubs when they start their shift
It depends on the hospital
Crystal Atkins If you work on the surgical floor then you are given surgical scrubs If you work on a different floor like pediatrics or labor and delivery you have to buy your own scrubs at least that’s how my hospital does it
Ida Scott If they are ours, we wash them at home.
Ida Scott eeewww, you have no option.
Fyi, that’s just how you sound.
@Ida Scott My mom's hospital gives them special detergent for washing scrubs at home that's suppose to eliminate those issues.
I have lots of pockets on my scrubs. At the end of my shift, I go home and I find all kinds of stuff in my pockets. Gloves, alcohol pads, a lot of pens/markers that didn’t belong to me(oops sorry) more gloves, somebody else’s notes that I took on accident 🤦♀️ u name it lmao. a fork,

Nikki Stine lmao.

“Do they match my danscos? Do they match my danscos?” Lmao 😂 right now
Hahaha its ALL about the danskos!!! :)
choirkitty yeah no kodding😂
Lol!!
*I feel like scrub shopping is the ultimate goal because it means you’re finally hired/in an internship as a nurse* 😂👏👏
I’m a jail nurse and I’m happy to report that I get to wear whatever color scrubs I want!!! Wooohoooo!! Love my owl scrubs
Awwww that’s so cute 🥺
WHAT is it like being a jail nurse?!?!
I guest is the same as school nurse....😂
Being a jail nurse can be scary sometimes because of the situation and the person.
I give credit to nurses as they work very hard.
Being a Swedish Nurse Student, I'm happy that we get our scrubs from the hospital, pick out our size before we start our shift, go and change, work and then just put them in the laundry basket. EXACTLY. As a CNA and Nursing Student, I always find Cherokee pants slip when all the pockets are being used 😭
How can one human being be this adorable?
*GASP* "BADGE CLIPS!!!"
I have never related to anything more! XD
This was me as a child growing up with a momma who spent lots of time in scrub stores. Hehe
scrubs stores exists????? oh my god. this needs to exist where i live
Yeah a lot of those stores sell like school uniforms too. That's where I used to get mine
Deok ii yeah, the most common I’ve seen is Scrubs And Stuff
Yes lol they are always next to the medical centers. At least in urban areas, maybe in rural it’s different
I live by some, but they are super expensive. Go to walmart they have cute ones and they aren't that expensive. Now if you really are in a tight budget my other suggestion is DD's discount.
If there is a big outlet mall near you, chances are there's a scrub store there if that helps!
You can always tell who the nursing students are by their white shoes.
Thank god I lucked out. My school requires all black shoes.
Your little dance at 1:03 is golden!
YES! Im a first year nursing student and pretty much complain about our uniforms every time I go into a scrub store 😂 not to mention wanting fancy danskos!
You are so funny and your facial expressions cracks me up every time.
My dad (who is a doctor) took me with him when he went with his nurses to go get scrubs and I swear this is exactly what it was
I would add: "REALLY? $110 for ONE pair"
I am the sale rack nurse- I will ask without any shame. Nurse Blake, you are so funny and adorable.
I love your personality! That part where you say: I wish they have scrubs that are wrinkle resistance. I don’t have time to iron in the morning.”
I'm not even a nurse, but I find this deeply hilarious!! His facial expressions & voice are just so pure 😂
I always cry inside when I see all the fun scrub tops but know I can’t wear them since we need SoLiD cOloRs oNLY~
At least you get to choose colors. I am a nursing student in Norway and you use white uniforms from the hospital that are unisex and look baggy as hell + they are always super wrinkled + some have small holes+ they look like made from a badly cut flour bag.

YASS I feel you
Ooofff

I'm a sucker for gear...new clips,
I❤Nursing bags, pink stethoscope, cute compression socks, nursing clipboard...love it!
Just went to this store as a phlebotomist and that badge clip moment and pocket moment was so truth
I truly have the mindset of a nurse now because I was in the scrub store the other day and took a pic of gray scrubs and realized how cute they are!
I’m not even a nurse and this is hallarious 😂🤣
Yes...they will fall...but it doesn't stop me from filling all of them with flushes and alcohol pads...😂
100% accurate
I loved it when they started letting us wear print scrubs and also holiday scrubs.
But if you don’t get the one with the string your risk your pants falling if you put something heavy in your pockets
Cherokee has ones with the string and has a zipper on them...for guys only though haha
Or you go to the toilet and your side strings fall into the toilet. You have to change your pants. I had a colleague's string become undone and their pants fell to their knees.
The one time you can go to the bathroom during a shift..😳😳😳
Everytime this pops up on any of my social media I watch it. It's been definitely close to 100 times now and it's still not getting old.... and I'm not even a nurse lol you're just brilliant
@00:48 I thought he was going to say in case there's a fire. I was like sure, like nurses have any chance of running from a burning building even if they wanted to. Lol 😂😂😂😭😭😭
This is so cute
I love how his little eyes just glow

Love you Blake! I had so much fun on nursecon 23 and 24! This is one of my favorite videos!
Damn when I got my first pair of scrubs all I thought was “ pockets, I need pockets “
"i wish we were peads nurses so we can wear something fun, but we can't" 😂😂I really felt that one in the bottom of my soul but there's always Christmas for fun scrubs.
Not the clogs 🤣
Loved by medical professionals and teachers alike
“Are they antimicrobial?”
That’s what the PPE’s are for! 😂
“😲 name badges!” 😂😂😂😂😂
I am not a nurse, I don’t know any references you make or what any nurse lingo but you are too cute and I love watching you! 😂 i Imagine nurses who get it must be rolling over laughing
"you can't have enough pocket"
I genuinely hated all my normal pants after trying Grey's
I work in the biotech industry now. But I used to work in a nursing home as a CNA and pharmacy tech and this guy is so relatable. There is something special about that job that allows you to wear scrubs. 😂 There are so many accessories. The healthcare field has the best uniforms hands down. Yup, a cargo pants with 8 pockets and a top scrub with 6 pockets, that should be good enough hahaha
Lmao so accurate
I think my iPad was listening to me, because I bought scrubs 4 days ago. And yes, they are “blue that are blue” and Dickies with quite a few pockets in the pants!
PS. I am a guy and CNA. Shout out to the guys!
Stressed out about nursing school and ran across this video. First time I laughed today ☺️😍
Literally have to stifle the laughter @ night watching him so I don’t wake anyone else up. 😂
I usually complain about the high prices 😂😂🙄

"But we can't" i love the way he said it!🤣😂😂
“You guys have hospital discounts right?”😂
I am CRACKING UP...I worked at lamberts. I know these scrubs. And the shoes. And the gear... and the nurses that would come in and ask ALL the questions you did.

Oh, boy! Relatable! Pockets please and bigger the better!
LOL Do They Match My Dansko's Do They Match My Dansko's Too Funny And Super Cute😂😂
I retired after 30 years in 2016 and I still look at the scrubs section lol
As a vet tech i’m dying at this 😂😅 so relatable
Flight attendants where danskos also. Super comfy. Also my mom is a nurse and she use to get fun colors and prints for Christmas. Now they changed to all black only. So now she dies fun print compression socks and badge clips.
When I'm shopping for scrubs I always asks "how does this make my butt look?" 😂
Lmao the spandex and wrinkle resistant, soooo me 🤣🤣🤣
Yes they match your danskos!
LOL ten thousand percent totally scrub shopping! Lol
Pockets. Gotta have all the pockets! Or the nurse fanny pack. Which I actually own😜
I used to work at a scrub store before nursing school and all of this is accurate. “Do you guys give hospital discounts?” NO THATS LITERALLY 90% OF OUR CUSTOMER BASE
I think it depends on the store.
The Dansko dance😂😂😂😂😂😂I’m in tears😂😂😂😂
You just gave me flash backs. My mom is a nurse and use to drag me to the Scrub Shack
(Gasp!)
BADGE. CLIPS.
THEY HAVE BADGE CLIPS. (Twiiiiiirrrrrlllll )🤣🤣🤣
The way he always smiled hahahahahahhahaha I love it😂😂😂😂😂
I would get excited when I needed to buy new scrubs @ a uniform store. They had all these neat little accessories. I felt like a kid in a candy store
As a vet tech student, I still relate. We have to wear navy blue scrubs our first year and then green scrubs the second year. The pockets are the BEST. Why are there so many blue options and not so many green??? 😂 but honestly I love scrubs because they are so comfortable and shopping for them is my favorite. i work at a vet clinic and this is too accurate lmao. nurse, medical assistant, same thing lol!
You’re hilarious.
OMG, you are so funny. You made me actually laugh out loud.
The pockets are the best thing about scrubs! 💜
