I recently picked up a set of QA 3030i’s. I really like them with their full enveloping bass. QA speakers have such a smooth sound to them, perfect for late night listening.
As someone who has built his own IPL Acoustics speakers the Q Acoustics have their effortless way of delivering sound, never cause fatigue and go about their business unnoticed. How it should be.
The monitor audio got better transparency due to its tweeter. Some don't like it due to being bright and some like it. Earlier I find it to thin sounding but the advent of HiRes Audio, the MA shine as it can convey those tiny tiny information out in clarity. The warmer sounding speaker tend to mask those details out. A better amplifier and source make the MA sing better and you can hear the price difference.
Definitely. Speakers that play very transparently will play much better if you rein them in with a class A or AB class amplifier, copper cable, a good DAC, and a good source. These are necessary for Silver 100. As a result, Silver100 is a good speaker.
Definitely. The silk tweeter is much softer. Metal tweeter is more detailed. Silver100 can tire the ears during long periods of listening and can be a pain in small rooms.
@@adnankilic the price difference is huge, $1499 vs $499 USD. Not a fair comparison. 5020 is out now @ $899 pair, still provide more value than MA silver. I have MA silver RS, which was $700 msrp. New MA silvers are not value any more at @ $1499.

Maybe the 3030 would be better comparison, but stll 3020 play nice and i think for prolonged listening it would be better. All metalic tweeters get tiring. I prefer silk dome tweeters
I agree with you instead. It's better to drive metallic tweeters with natural amps. British amps for example. Q acoustics sounded softer silver 100 better with bass. But whichever you choose, the 3020i
Actually, they are both good for their price. If you have a big room and a powerful amplifier, go for Silver100. If you have a smaller room and your amplifier is not very powerful, go for QA.

Monitor Audio Silver to impress my friends for an hour or so but I would have the Q acoustics 3020is on if I wanted to play for long periods, considering they have a lot more warmth to their sound!
@@adnankilic I just ordered a pair of the Silver 100, they should be here soon... I bought them for the Home Theater, picked up the C350 matching center too, 1/2 off, too good a deal to pass up... Having not heard these, my gut feeling is that they can be tamed with a decent tube amplifier along with an EQ, both of which I have. I see these primarily as a HT speakers, ran through an AVR, the reason I purchased. Currently running the SVS Ultra bookshelf and center, along with two SB3000 subs, going to have a shoot out...
Monitor Audio speakers are very upstream electronics dependant. They must be use with higher end equipment b/c they will reveal weakness & flaws of the amp & preamp. Also, M.A. are not designed for lossy recordings, you can hear the difference in the Treble from the tweeter. If you listen to a lot of MP3, look elsewhere, maybe a softdome tweeter. Owned various Monitor Audio speakers for 25 yrs & the new wave guide is a step-up design
Thank you for your comment. The source is chromecast audio and tidal. In my opinion, 24/96 Silver 100 does a good job in cinema. In my opinion, it is a bit tiring in music.
I myself have QAqoustics 3020i speakers and a Denon RCD-M41 player and you can't ask for anything better at home. Sometimes you get the feeling that there isn't much of a so-called "no-brainer" here. there are no ordinary listeners.
The criterion for me is not money. I look at performance. The 3020i does not have bad performance. If we look at the price difference, the 3020i will be a very good choice for low budgets.
I have both the 3020 and 3020i and find the original slighter better than the new version. Monitor Audio speakers sound good at first, but are a bit too much for long term listening.
@@adnankilic I agree, Moitor Audio speakers use metal dome tweeters, and even since they first appeared in the 70's, the hight treble has been fatiguing to listen to after a while. Q Acoustics are hard to beat for a smooth balance.
@@Barbarapape I've only heard older monitor audio speakers playing at hifi shop, didn't like them. The Titanium tweeters in my Celestion are nice. Just a tiny bit more detailed than soft dome

The MA does edge it for, just. However they are not fitting on my large, but not large enough computer desk. Thw 3020i is plenty good enough for the price, which in the UK is way cheaper than the US and way, way cheaper than MA.

Having the MA's that close together is doing them absolutely no favors. Those 8" woofers need at least 8ft distance between each other to carry the rest of the sound properly.
Hi .I opened the inside of the two devices and looked. There is no difference in material that will give each other superiority. In these price differences, we should not be biased according to the price. The goal is to get the same performance at half the price. There is no difference except for the lower frequency.
If i had brought the Q ACOUSTICS 3020i and got the same thin light sound you have in this video i would be very upset ... Most defiantly form over function .. If a nice sized box works in the case of the MONITOR AUDIO SILVER 100 then that's it job done .. Don't round off the edges and try to make them look pretty as in this case it does NOT work
The MAs are _three times_ the price of the QAs. They are larger, with bigger bass drivers. Yes, in this demo they sound better, but did the poster equalise the volume? The QAs are somewhat less sensitive than the MAs, and so you'd probably need to turn up the volume control on the amp to get the same sound level. Judging by the position of the dot on the control knob (you can make it out on fullscreen), it's set at the same level for both speakers. It's not a fair comparison, either from a price or, possibly, equalised volume viewpoint. It's well known that, all else being equal, music usually sounds better when it's louder. The reason that I know the QAs can do better is that I own a pair. These don't sound as full as mine do -- it may be something to do with the room acoustics: I don't see any acoustic panels, for example. Also, the MAs don't look to be resting on the same platform as the QAs and could be utilising the resonance of the table to add to their apparent fullness. And, thinking about it, the QAs have a rear port that looks to be firing into a shiny TV screen. I'm not saying the QAs are as good as the MAs. They quite probably aren't, but what I'd like to hear is both of them placed on identical speaker stands, wider apart, not too close to a wall, and equalised for volume. In my view, that would make the comparison fairer.

@@adnankilic ic... ic... maybe the assessment is not based on performance but more on the sound... because I also have silver 1 audio monitors and q acoustics 3020i... Q acoustics sounds more towards the mid to low and the presentation is more towards warm while the monitor audio sounds more towards balance with high characters that tend to be bright, for the sound of the two speakers just adjust to taste ... but for me I prefer the monitor audio because it is more transparent more open and sounds more alive while q acoustic in my opinion the sound makes me bored and for the QUALITY of the sound q acosutics in my opinion feels cheap dan the QUALITY of the goods in my opinion is mediocre (much better q acoustic concept 20) besides that the 3020i reminds me of cheap speaker speakers such as polk audio signature series only the 3020i is better...

No comparison, Monitor Audio by a Mile . They (almost) sound Hifi. The QA’s sound like Bluetooth speakers from Best Buy (although there js quite a difference in price). But still both sets are under $1000….= entry level speakers, you can’t expect much when “real hifi book shelf’s start at around $3000+) and that’s still on the low end with Klipsch and Dynn reference speakers starting at around $5-6K at bare minimum
You say price range is not everything. Come on your not really comparing then. I wouldn't put a complete hifi setup against one 3 times the price because I would buy at my price bracket. Total waste of time. £1000 complete system against a £3000 system is what your doing so it would obviously be superior. It's not a fair review. First time viewer & last time. Wierd.

3020i is an easy to drive speaker. 602 is a good amplifier. Its power is quite sufficient. I think they will be a compatible duo.

They may be compatible. The 3020i aren't very demanding speakers. But they will still do much better with at least 50watts.

QA have softer midbass for a price of less bright mids. MA punches a head. But a price difference matters.

I'm not saying the QAs are as good as the MAs. They quite probably aren't, but what I'd like to hear is both of them placed on identical speaker stands, wider apart, not too close to a wall, and equalised for volume. In my view, that would make the comparison fairer.

I agree with you for the silver performance. The gold series plays naturally and organically, I recommend it. But silver is very tiring

You must be joking... q acoustic 3020i is a cheap speaker and you're comparing it with silver series from monitor audio speakers, even though q acoustics 3020i can't beat bronze audio monitor 2 which is below silver series..
I EVALUATE DEVICES BY ITS PERFORMANCE, NOT ACCORDING TO THE PRICE. THE SILVER 100 HAS A VERY TIRING SOUND. WITH THE 3020I, YOU CAN LISTEN TO MUSIC FOR LONGER HOURS. AND I JUST MAKE PEOPLE HAVE IDEAS. THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENT.

Q acoustics sounds more towards the mid to low and the presentation is more towards warm while the monitor audio sounds more towards balance with high characters that tend to be bright, for the sound of the two speakers just adjust to taste ... but for me I prefer the monitor audio because it is more transparent more open and sounds more alive while q acoustic in my opinion the sound makes me bored and for the QUALITY of the sound q acosutics in my opinion feels cheap dan the QUALITY of the goods in my opinion is mediocre (much better q acoustic concept 20) besides that the 3020i reminds me of cheap speaker speakers such as polk audio signature series only the 3020i is better...

@@adjiw8408 I am not a seller. It's just a hobby. Quadral Aurum Megan VII is very successful. Mid and details are very successful. Especially in jazz and vocal music.

No comparison, Monitor Audio by a Mile . They (almost) sound Hifi. The QA’s sound like Bluetooth speakers from Best Buy (although there js quite a difference in price). But still both sets are under $1000….= entry level speakers, you can’t expect much when “real hifi book shelf’s start at around $3000+) and that’s still on the low end with Klipsch and Dynn reference speakers starting at around $5-6K at bare minimum
You say price range is not everything. Come on your not really comparing then. I wouldn't put a complete hifi setup against one 3 times the price because I would buy at my price bracket. Total waste of time. £1000 complete system against a £3000 system is what your doing so it would obviously be superior. It's not a fair review. First time viewer & last time. Wierd.
