Hello Oana 🙂 , great to hear. However, if the stinging and tingling become to much, you either need to reduce the time or stop using the product. Otherwise, it can lead to irritation. If it was only a little stinging that disappeared quickly, there shouldn't be an issue. Just keep this in mind. And enjoy the product 🙂 Greetings from Luxembourg.

Yes my book (Cosmeceuticals and Cosmetic Ingredients) says the following:
"Niacinamide can be used in conjunction with retinoids sunscreens, hydroxy acids, and other ingredients without concern for cross-reactivity.."
However, because they said that you shouldn't use it, I went with what they said. I tried it now multiple times, and I never had any issues.

I did some research about it, and one of the reasons I found on why not to use Niacinamide after any chemical exfoliants is that these kind of exfoliants have a certain pH and if you use Niacinamide after them, Niacinamide will alter the pH and the exfoliants will not have the same results as they supposed to have. You can keep using it after the peeling, nothing will happen.

      Monique Celis Hello👋
I only rinse it off with water, but if you are paranoid (which I totally get) you can always rinse it off with a cleanser afterwards. Just make sure that if you cleanse your face before putting the mask on, you have to use a gentle cleanser or else you will probably overly strip your face.
My advice is to use this 1-2 times a month, and instead use the lactic acid from the ordinary 3 times a week which is much better in my opinion. With that you just leave it on without washing it off.
But in general you should always remember not to over exfoliate🙌

I use this under my eyes (or what you refer to as the eye contour) because that’s my problem area. I get clusters of really tiny bumps under my eyes and across my nose. Based on some research I’ve done, I think it’s called milia and this peeling solution has really helped.
Edit: I’ve also consistently used niacinamide every night even on the nights when I use the peeling solution. I didn’t know they weren’t supposed to be used together 😧 I haven’t had any reactions though but I might consider not using it when I exfoliate.

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  4 года назад +5

Hey, interesting 🤔 Well, it says that you should really avoid the eye contour since the skin is very thin, and it could easily cause irritation. But since it works for you, I wouldn't bother.
Niacinamide does not have any conflicts, so it's fine to use. But since the mask can be drying, it's not recommended to use it after it. Again, if your skin can tolerate it, you can continue with it. It can be quite harsh if you are a beginner and have never used any acids before.

I’m just binging your videos! As a newbie to skincare (despite being 17) things like this are so helpful. I just see tons of videos from other people, with elaborate skincare routines, products with chemicals I don’t understand etc and no one really explains it in a basic way other than you. So thank you so much! I’ve started using the ordinary cleanser, moisturiser & niacinimide (you get what I mean, I can’t spell it) but I know I need to exfoliate my face..would this exfoliate my face? How often are you meant to use it? Thanks so much. Sorry for spamming you everywhere

Hello again, it takes a bit of time to get used to the chemicals and what they can do for your skin. And since you seem to like the ordinary products it may be best to watch the following videos:
      The Ordinary Layering: (new guide)
      ruclips.net/video/gMrV5WD8KkA/видео.html
The Ordinary For Beginners (old guide with examples):
      ruclips.net/video/diaLVk_EsI4/видео.html
Skin Care Routine Order Morning and Night (advanced):
      ruclips.net/video/SZr-0xZq6UE/видео.html
How often you use an AHA/BHA product will depend on your personal tolerance for these products. Start with 2-3 times per week and adjust the frequency according to your skin's response.
And thank you very much for the feedback 😃

I tried this before finding out about your video. I cleansed first and pat dry my face then applied a dear klairs toner then Aha bha, no less than 10 seconds applying the aha bha I felt itching on my face, I rinsed it off right away that's when I realized that I should watch tutorial first on how I should use aha bha 🤦🏻‍♀️
So I followed your instructions, and viola no itchiness ever, well there is a tingling effect the second time I applied it but it didn't last that long I also washed my face before 10mins and applied Niacinamide then Tarte hydrating boost to finish the whole routine. I didn't applied the toner tho it's good for hydration too. Thanks for the tips!

Granactive Retinoid 2% in emulsion is so gentle, also Im guessing my skin is very used to it, that I use it after this peel (mixed with my moisturizer) and I have a feeling that it even streghtnens the peel itself. But I wouldnt use it with some stronger, medical degree retinols. But I think it goes very well together with the 2% granactive retinoid.

I got mine today. i used it on various age spots on my arms, legs nd upper chest. I thot I might have to rinse it off after a minute or 2, but left it on 20 minutes, as I felt no tingling or warmth til the very end. I then put it on a couple spots on my face. I rinsed after 10 minutes. That was an hour ago. I can still feel a bit of tingling sensation. Think I'll wait 24 hours to do a whole face mask. My skin turns pink easily, like from sneezing, getting hot, having problems with makeup, etc, so I didn't want to go too extreme. If u follow what the video says, I'm sure u be fine.
