Have a strategy for getting photos of the big fish before you are on them, while it wasn't dry long you were starting to push time out of water limits...and mainly for the photo...keep them dripping wet if you can.

This is the ocean. I try to fish calm days. Check beach cams before fishing to see if its calm. West winds are gonna be days you want to fish bc they flatten out the surf

I'd really like to know if your reel kept out all the salt? I know they're sealed but that water finds a way in

I’d really only be worried about water/salt entering into the reel if drag was being pulled while getting wet or cranking it underwater. Thats when tiny spaces of air can be created between the seals and allow bs into the reel. As far as I can tell the reels just fine!
