@@TheCorpsehatch Don't need to wait. Jon plans out his series in advance usually, so if it will become a series he will say so either in the video, in a post, or at the end of the previous series. It is rare for him to decide off the cuff to just make a series and if he does it is usually only for another ep or 2
I like how Jon thinks everything will be the morph ball and is disappointed every time. Reminds me of my first play through.
I'd love to see this as a series or livestream. Dread is such a great game.

This game came out of nowhere...and I felt in love with it immediately - such a perfect nostalgia hit! :)

Jon, play Super Metroid. Seriously. It's one of the best platformers ever made. It hurts my heart to learn that you've never experienced it. Doesn't even need to be for the channel, it's just a game experience you need to have.

On one hand I'd love to see a full series of this. On the other hand I don't know if the anxiety you'd cause me in at least the first third of the game is something I could survive.
after watching him play darksouls for the first time, you learn to deal with his lack of percetion, and just laugh, else then you'd end up giving yourself a heart attack, over another person's playthrough...
It really speaks to Jon's charisma that, no matter what game he's playing, I always want to see a full series.

Not a long game and it gets better as it goes, really great game but difficult on first run

actually no that robot they replicated had organic bits, they cant replicate pure mechines they need squishy bits then they can bascially fill in the blanks afterwords from the information of the host
Honestly, I doubt this will be Jon's cup of tea. Jon tends to take things slow and methodical. Which is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what this game wants you to do, which is KEEP MOVING.
I dunno about that. Sure the Emmi zones are like that, but this game does reward slow and methodical exploration.
Maybe, but he played the hell out of Hades, which as a game was way more frantic than I could handle.
Really love how the automated subtitles keep introducing the channel as "Mania Trudeau"... should be the new go-to character name ^^

Being a mercenary to an extremely thick federation honestly sounds like a pretty sweet deal, it mean you have guaranteed employment from whenever they screw something up.
Well yeah... if it weren't for the fact they keep screwing up with really dangerous crap they shouldn't have messed with in the first place and the clean-up has repeatedly come at some personal cost to to Samus. They better pay really bloody well with a great retirement plan to make all that worthwhile somehow ^^
Must do wonders to the Federation risk-assessment. No experiment is too crazy not to test, because you can always call Samus

This is so great Jon! I know it might be horribly difficult to get it to run on a PC, but it would be great to see you try your hand at one of the classics: Super Metroid. It was, is and always will be one of the best games ever. Either way, thank you for this bit of modern nostalgia. Fun.
I've recently been playing Samus Returns on my 3DS, and for that reason alone I was compelled to watch this video through the youtube app on that. Can't say it was the best viewing experience, but yeah, that happened.

Seeing you playing this after beating it my self is very fun. Know what to do and just seeing you be clueless like this is definitely a morph ball machine. Thanks for now spoiling the story.

Jon, Mohter Brain isn't a Metroid... Mother Brain is a type of Chozo Central Control unit, the Chozo used to make disicions, because other wise they just keep fighting with eachother, and they didn't just make one.
Make it a series, it's not even gonna be that long, it's a fairly short game

Jon! On the switch if you have Nintendo switch online subscription you can play classic NES, SNES and Nintendo 64 games which includes the original Metroid and Super Metroid.
I have never played a metroid game, and i barley play any Nintendo games, and still this was my goty

THis def reminds me of playing metroid when I was young. When I say young, I do mean the original games. So yeah, this is nostalgia like a mad man. I love it and I hope he goes back to it. While I know he hasn't gotten back to some games, this one I hope he does.

I played the first 2-D game on NES - THIS is beautiful!
It looks like whoever did the E.M.M.I. design had some bad experiences with geth.
I've only seen the first minuite so far, but to understand why the Federation sent a bunch of murderrobots first instead of Samus, you kinda need to look at the situation from the perspective of said Federation for a second.
Yes, Samus is your best shot at putting an end to such galaxy ending threats. But at the end of the day, she is one person, and she is not tied to the Federation. Best "bad case" scenario, she refuses to take the mission. Worst case, she does and fails, or even becomes part of the threat.
Suddenly, the best case scenario is you have lost your only answer to galaxy ending threats, and worst case your answer to it has BECOME PART OF THE THREAT. It makes SENSE to have a answer to such issues that is under your control, at the very least as a way to deal with such an issue.
Meanwhile, the Federation would have learned SOME things from the previous X encounter. Namely, that it can and does replicate robots. So when designing a robot made to hunt down X, you make it out of something that cannot be replicated, namely in this case, the hardest stuff in the universe.
It's worth noting that (slight spoilers from here on out by the way) despite them hunting you down for some reason, there is not a single EMMI robot that gets consumed by any kind of X Parasite, even after Samus nukes them wide open. So they are designed to resist X corruption, and work pretty well for that purpose.
It's just that they were kinda expecting a simple "Recon and kill" mission for dealing with the X Parasite, and thus the Federation did not expect, shall we say, a outside factor to the issue...

I love Shadow Complex. You could just go left and say, "I can get a new girlfriend." And it was an ending. Such a fun game. Maybe Jon can play it on the channel one day.
Looking forward to this series, as a huge metroid fan Im looking forward to seeing how you use your subnautica brain here. Also the X cant replicate machines, only organic creatures
Uh Jon you might wanna check the description, it says "Metroid Dread on Steam", not "on Switch".
My first Metroid game was Metroid on the NES.
I rather enjoyed Metroid Dread overall, but thought it got to difficult about 2/3 the way through. I also found it frustrating how much your backtracking was limited until fairly late in the game.
The melee counter is nice though, and very important. Easy kill most enemies, tons of extra damage on bosses, and the extra health and missiles from enemies killed that way.
Day 574 of requesting Zoo Tycoon. Jon being both familiar and unfamiliar with this game due to its franchise's place in his childhood makes for good analysis of the plot with all the unexpected surprises of a new player - I'm excited
id rather see this done as an episodic letsplay

It's clunky and it definitely shows it age but it's such a classic and deserves to be experienced.
He should give Metroid Fusion on the GBA a go; nothing spectacular but well made, fills in a bit of his story gap (including the Adam business) and can be done in a few hours (or less than 1 actually, if you know how shit works and you know the levels by heart and your mechanics are on point; personal best for me is 1:23 at ~85%, or 2:12 at 100% item caches found)

This is a Nintendo Switch exclusive, in case you were planning to buy it on PC. I would highly recommend it if you have that system though.

This is a very good and well made game but I bounced off it after getting through about 2/3s of the game. This one just ended up not being for me.

Worst Metroid game I've played. Maybe I got spoiled because I played Ori and the will of the Wisps right before this but I didn't like it.
