When Paul looks at the light and loses himself in the view, I can truly understand that moment because you will never see that same view ever again in your life. You really have to absorb yourself in moments like that and think yourself extremely lucky you are there to see it. Beautiful.

This compilation made me cry. I lost my dad very recently and the combination of you lovely boys talking about losing your dads and Claire de Lune by Debussy (my dads favourite classical piece) playing as background music I was reduced to a gibbering wreck. But then you both started mooing and I was ok again ❤️
Thank you both for bringing light into dark places. Humour is the strongest tool we've got to get us through the hard times and you both deliver it in spadefuls.x
Beth I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad recently too and I just can't get enough of watching these clips. These guys are better than medication.

I love these two. I’m often moved by them. True friends. Lovely to hear men talk openly about life and health. I love the program loads.

I'm 51 and haven't been fishing for about 30yrs. I met up with an old friend and we went out his sea fishing boat recently. Best day I have had for a good while. So peaceful.
Most underrated show ever probably the most easy watching show their has ever been o nailed 2 seasons in 2 days
This has to be one the best shows on tv. I grew up with their humour and although not a fisherman at all love the show for it's humour, it's chat and it's sentiment and discussions on life.
It's surprising without realizing how much their crazy humour has moulded me over the years and I see snippets on and off in my life. Great show chaps! Keep it going 🤣🤣
They’re funny, funny men, but have these genuinely heartfelt moments that are so moving. Love ‘em to bits❣️
My best friend was my dad he passed away in 2021 he loved this programme and i watch it every night it friendship and peace and love if everyone was like these two in life how nice the world would be xx

I just cant' get enough of watching these spend their time together. The skeptic/cynic in me could think that much of their on-screen relationship is played up for show, but the reality is I believe every part of it is honest.
They give me a lot of joy watching their interactions and how true their friendship is. They make me laugh, make me think, in some ways it's therapeutic and calming. But part of me also gets melancholy as I know that as an adult I have never had a friendship even close to what they have with each other, and as a middle aged man now I feel like I likely never will.
There is still time to make lifelong friends. Be kind to yourself xxx

How lovely to see this side of Bob. I've only known his hysterical comedy, especially on Wilty. I laugh until I cry & feel wonderful afterwards. He & Paul have such a special friendship and I hope it goes on for a long long time. Thank you both and am sending 2 big hugs!

These two blokes are truly excellent human beings.
My grandfather died just before Christmas. He was not the sort of man to tell people he loved them. We knew, he showed it in other ways, but he told us a lot in his last few weeks. It was hard to hear because I knew what it meant, but it also meant the world. Cancer had got to his brain and he was increasingly confused. But he still had his moments where he was him, through that and the pain. I am so glad I got to be there with him at the very end. We were very close, and it’s still very raw. This compilation has made me laugh and cry. ❤

Having not fished for 38 years, I've had had two heart attacks, and working in comedy, the connections with Gone Fishing were uncanny. From the very first episode I knew I had to get back to fishing. I found a second hand tackle shop, bought as near as I could to my old tackle and went off down the river. I'd forgotten the peace and joy it used to bring me and the bonus is the fun that these two fishermen bring, as I think you nearly are a fisherman now Bob... I thank you. Please don't ever stop making these programmes! The icing on the cake...Ted's choppers! Love it!
I used to have friends like that. I haven't seen or heard from them in five years. It's marvelous watching Bob and Paul having a good time together.

Its completely random but i highly recommend watching the tv show 'the detectorists', a similar heartwarming and witty show, albeit fictional, that is like being wrapped in a blanket.

I can tell you two are very close friends the chemistry between you is genuine I have watched all episodes of every series more than once and the new series is going to be every bit as good keep it up guys long may you be able to get out and fish 🙏🎣

Seeing and hearing these two talking about love and loss is a tonic, a bitter sweet tonic, but a tonic. The warmth and unfiltered emotions is so good to see, it's wisdom that not everyone displays as they age, but these two have running through their blood.
I could watch this just over and over again, these lads give me peace of mind. Thanks Bob and Paul, for the sake of humanity guys, never stop doing these programs. Love you :)

Friendship like that is priceless
True male friends can share their deepest thoughts/emotions without judgement or criticism and there is no laugh like the laughs you have with your best mate, these friends are very few and far between but when you have one life is far better. We men share with our spouses but sometimes we really need another man’s understanding. Bob and Paul are lucky to have each other to share the good times and the bad , something we men don’t like to admit but is so important . Found this episode particularly emotional talking about parents, lost my mum 3 years ago ( you don’t get over it , just have to learn to live with it ) and now do my best to look out for my wonderful dad . Excellent series guys 👍

At the age of 61 and having lost both my parents in the last seven years, I find every one of these programmes so poignant, that the simplest of acts or scenes will bring me to tears - it's the knowledge that these two are a similar age to me and that time has become so important, yet seems to fly past so much quicker. I envy their friendship and the ability to spend this time together in such beautiful surroundings, even if it is to make a TV show.
