I love the atmospheric textures you got going in the background. You have a wonderful balance of airy pads and lush stringy synths that land in the perfect place, creating almost an ocean of sound that everything else falls on. One thing, and this is a super subjective opinion of course, but I feel like the side chain is really really pronounced, and it takes away from the incredible floor of texture you got going on. I think you could get those kicks to cut without ducking so severely, if anything for the sake of your atmosphere. And I only say this because I think the atmosphere is so dang good. I know its a stylistic thing common in a lot of electronic music, but for me I want to hear all that texture going on! Excellent entry!

Telrac yeeeeah I may have overdid the sidechaining a little bit, which reduces the volume of parts of the track whenever a kick drum hits. When done perfectly, it delivers a sense of rhythm without the listener really knowing what’s happening behind the scenes. But if it’s overdone even a little bit, it can become noticeable to some people. There you go, production 101 lol I’ll double check it next time. Thanks for listening and I’m glad you liked it! This is such a cool entry; one of the great things about this competition has been discovering new channels producing brilliant work (like yours is!) I really love the combinations of swirling pads and string parts that you've used here. The texture always felt very complete and constantly interesting; active, but never in a way that took away from the underlying chill vibe. It's a very subjective thing, but I loved those pad parts so much that I wish they weren't cut into as aggressively by the kick (I'm not sure if it's hard sidechaining with a long release, or another effect, but I'm sure you know what I mean). But I do get that it's a stylistic choice to highlight the groove a bit more prominently! Thanks so much for taking part in this competition :)

I did notice that the base phendrana song was fading out for every bass drum. Maybe check that out unless it was intentional.
Oh, 100% intentional. It added way more depth by emphasizing the kick drum and filtering out certain frequencies.
Not a huge fan of such extreme sidechaining but it still sounds great. Thanks!
