the marina in Hartlepool is really a bit of a gem, lots of quirky history too from the monkey and Andy Capp ...also close-by is the much maligned Seaton Carew ,made famous by the antics of the the Darwins , another hidden gem which I spent my first night in my then new camper van ...I ve always found places that have bad reputations are sometimes surprisingly engaging ...in the same vein Withernsea proved another jewel ....the Scottish was awesome btw

We walked the Snickelways of York when we were there in July, it took us 2 days to complete but something interesting we could do with dogs as dogs aren't allowed on the city wall walk or in the museums. We stayed at The Riverfront York caravan site (it was called The Boatyard when we were there) and walked into York 👍🏻😎
That was a classic Claire - “Have you been busy?” - 😂😂 - And “have you got funny feet” - 😂😂 - great fun and very informative video even a time warp sequence ( blue bridge) 😀👍👍
Claire did you ever que up on a Sunday at Heeley for a Taggies ice cream ? It was to die for . The van came round every now and again on a Sunday . The family didn’t pass the recipe on when they retired . Such a shame . Beats any ice cream 🍦 of today Julie . 4 ft 11 😊

Hi. That site is in an excellent location, 10 mins to centre if head left. We would recommend if it you want to be central. Sounds like Hector was a water dog! ❤️🐾

We used to have an annual trip to York for my birthday with afternoon tea at Betty’s. Cycled all around there and loved it. Just cannot afford the CAMC site fees any longer 😢
Love York! Best time to go is November, misty wet streets and pubs with a fire on 👌 Try the cellars on the square. We stumbled across it on a drunken excursion 😂 old underground wine cellars, now a green king i think.

Love Rowntree Park (as long as it’s not been heavy raining up-stream of course) Wow, I didn’t know how Rowntree Park came about, a really nice gesture really. Last time I was in York, I tried one of the cruises, the self-drive boats looked good fun! Love the taxi gag, made me chuckle! Not too bad at £35. All the very best, David & Rachel 👍
We stayed at York Rowntree a couple of years ago. There’s a gate out of the back of the site that goes to shops and cafes. We walked our dogs round the park a few times, and up and over the millennium bridge. Thanks for sharing, might go back again now, assuming we can get a pitch that is.

The train muesem is near the train station, Saturday 24th August the steam train stopped at York to come to Carlisle Cumbria. I live in Carlisle Cumbria England
Hi another great video. You were in places we missed and we have tried to book that campsite many times but always full. We did earlier in the year stay at York Marina and the river Ouse was flooded and the fields behind it. That was a beautiful site and the facilities too notch. Bar and restaurant right in your door step looking right over river and you can get water taxis. We are chucking at at your wee funnies that you might miss🤣

Its a little known fact why Rowntrees park is were it is, Rowntrees bought the land next door to the terrys Chocolate factory to stop them from expanding their business.

And were the caravan/ motorhome park is , was our beloved Lido out door swimming pool, the Miserable York City Council had it removed, and in Rowntrees park on the pond used to be boats, and in the Wintertime when it was cold enough they used to build up the ice so you could skate those werethe day's the Good old Days.

My dad's parents lived in Harrogate north Yorkshire, he had allotment in his back garden, we used run to the garden to get the rhubarb and our nana had a bowl of sugar we would eat it raw, grandad used to say, " you will get stomach ache "
