Enjoyed the video and the poem. It's been a while since I read it.
I hear that the building that now houses Green Mountain Clippers used to be a train station.
Do you think that the poem was written there?
I've been thinking of framing the poem, and presenting it to the owner, if it was written there.
    Thanks. Paul

Great question! We asked Tim Jerman for his thoughts on that. Here's his reply: "I’m not aware of a connection to the train from that building; if there was it would have been a transfer station for the Burlington & Lamoille line which ran from Burlington to Cambridge Junction 1870’s to 1929. It did not stop at the village train station. In any case, the poem would not have been written there. Attorney Edward Phelps likely wrote the poem later at home but even if he did it on the spot it would have been at first village station which was replaced in 1880. Still, the poem would make a great conversation piece for any village business!"
