    Pro tip: get a wide brimmed hat with a built in neck cloth and wear long sleeved breathable shirts. It seems counterintuitive but keeping the sun off of your head and skin helps you stay cool. Source... I'm a carpenter who works outside year round!

    Danner , to answer your question about clothing to wear when working outside in the heat , WHITE SHIRTS , LIGHT COLORED PANTS . I'm sure you know that dark colors ATTRACT HEAT , and white clothing REFLECTS HEAT . This actually works outdoors and indoors . And , if you wear a hat , make it a light color also .

    This video was on my recommended videos list this morning... Seeing that you were already framing the additions, and excited to watch the entire transformation of your Abandoned shed; I began with watching your first video. Having done a similar transformation on a 20×24 log cabin 12 years ago... I was quickly addicted, and watched all of them today. I'm so excited to see this dream of you & your father's come to fruition. New Subcriber!

    So, my husband's favorite shirt is no shirt!

  • @MillerJustinFS
    @MillerJustinFS 2 года назад

    Work Shirts: As the other guy said, go with light colored to cut down on heat. On top of that, you want to get a sweat wicking shirt. Under Armor built their whole brand around this. They're a thin undershirt that pulls the sweat off your skin. You still sweat but it keeps you from feeling so gross and sticky. It might seem counterintuitive to wear 2 shirts, but the under layer is really thin and even if its slightly warmer to have it on it makes it so much more comfortable. BTW, it also helps to get sweat wicking boxer-briefs to help with the undercarriage.

    I know I'm commenting months after this video came out, but I've been following your build with interest! Favorite work shirt? My husband wears almost nothing but Merino wool; It's a special material that's soft and smooth, but more importantly, it doesn't stink and dries quickly. He's worn the same Merino shirt for a week on Alpine hikes here in Switzerland, and it just shows a salty crust when it dries; just rinsing it out in water removes that on the go, and by the next morning it's dry & good to wear again! So if you're working in a high humidity climate, I'd definitely recommend investing in a few Merino T-shirts!

    Just found your channel today and have been binge watching. You've grown quite a lot in a little over a years time. That's because you have good content and you present it very well. I'm looking forward to the rest of your journey of converting this shed/tiny house into a working house. I am so glad that you were able to get your lumber at a reduced cost compared to what it was just two months ago (or even two weeks ago!) Your tonsil surgery paid off in that regard, at least. Sorry to hear about your dad's accident. But, you got a pick-up truck out of it. Are you going to have doors leading from the house into the workshop/garage and from the house into the kitchen? There was to be a door near the stairs at one time leading to the kitchen side of the house, but you scrapped that and I haven't heard any mention of another door into the kitchen. Edit: Oh yeah. Subscribed and rang the bell! 😊👍

    just plain old white T-shirts, any shirt is gonna get sweaty and wet, wont be able to get around that. But a thin white shirt that reflects sun and breathes great is gonna be your best bet. Plus there cheap to buy and not care about if they get nasty and destroyed, then you just use them as shop rags later on.

Just be sure you have your 1st run of decking break on one of your barges. Don't forget to allow for overhang on that 1st run when you pop your line.

    If you’re working in the Sun, you want a long sleeve shirt. It seems counter productive but it provides the best protection from the Sun & heat. Cotton, poly, cotton/poly blend, doesn’t matter so much as long as it’s long sleeve. Also, lighter colors are always going to be better than dark colors.
