I went on a six month exchange to Japan (from Germany) when I was 16 and definitely agree with everything you said! Very interesting to hear about your experience. An exchange can be a fantastic time, but apart from a bit of luck it certainly does require a lot of effort to really get something out of it. I’m quite introverted, so it was very challenging for me to actively approach people, especially in a completely new environment. Thinking back now I can’t believe I even went through with the whole thing 😆 It was my first time away from my family, first time on a plane and first time outside of Europe. Man that surgery looked like a real ordeal, glad you enjoyed it though 😂 It was interesting to hear about your experience about exchange students in Germany. Especially since i moved from Egypt to Germany to study there. The language barrier is real. My mother is German so i heard basic German every day (mainly when she talked to other Germans or my father or shouted at us which was funny) and i took german courses (B2&C1)for six months before starting with university, still it was pretty hard at the beginning, you wouldn't understand things because certain words don't make sense to you and even if you understand the words, they don't have th intuitive feeling like the ones from your mother tongue so it's hard to understand abstract concepts. It gets better with time though. Regarding friendships, i take time to make friends and with corona meeting people just didn't happen so i can't judge that very well. I did make a German friend at a trip students make before the first semester(Erstifahrt), looked around for people who don't look very social (as it's hard for me to socialize in groups) and approached one of them(she turned out to be a lot of fun and helped a lot in the begging). But from my experience German people are pretty friendly way more friendly than i imagined from what was told to me (i should have known, since my mother and her friends are friendly social people), but i am comparing them to myself. Compared to students in Egypt it's ture that nobody comes to talk to me though, so there's truth to that. I resonate with the not fully belonging to any country so much, in Egypt i was the German (with the stereotypical German personality that isn't true for most Germans) and here i am the Egyptian (fully misrepresenting what an Egyptian is usually like).

the thing is : We Germans grow up together from kindergarden and primary school. If you dont find friends in primary schools ... thats probably it. And dont take it personal yall but we know : you will go back home in 1 year or so... so usually we dont even try. We try to be nice to you but our culture is simple : every men / woman for themself. I really want to experience being an exchange student but this program isn't available at where i live, i know there are pros and cons of being an exchange student just like Ruri said but i still wish i can experience it at least once so that i can gain more experience and also start a new pace. Since im kinda stuck in my country, i dont get to experience new things and trying to start a new pace is really hard since nothing is pushing you or forcing you to do that. You are simply too comfortable because you are in your comfort zone that's why i really hope i can feel what it is like being an exchange student. However, it is impossible for me to actually go through that because by next year I will be graduating from secondary school and i will be entering university. My only hope is to study abroad to actually fulfill my wish of being an exchange student. Studying abroad isn't the same as being an exchange student but you will be going through similar problems and challenges. It will be pricey to study abroad so i have to work really really hard to be able to get myself a scholarship. As for the other concerns, i'll not think about it but i'll just focus on studying for now! If you are also having the same thoughts/problems as mine, remember that you aren't alone! To make my dreams/wishes come true, i will have to be super hardworking and i mustn't give up. To those of you who are having a hard time, cheer up! You are working hard for a better future after all so your hard work will definitely pay off :D

Bavaria, Swiss & Austria = German, but different accent and it freaked me out in the beggining xD I am a born Russian girl and my mom and I moved to Germany, when I was 10 years old ^^° so my hard time started already early.. 3 years later I made an exchange (together with a German group) with French group. We drove to La Rache Sur Yon and French culture was really different and it was still hard for me, but it was for 10 days so fine for a kid xd after that exchange I changed a LOT, my family was quiete lost because of it. I went to the exchange evry year. 2018 Caceres (Spain) joined to that project too. I was more confused about Spanish culture, because it also complete differente than German or French culture. There is very hot, they wake up and go sleep late, fiesta, "strange" people XD yes "strange", because the communication was REALLY difficult But yeah, I am still happy, that I did a lot exchanges, this changed me a lot. In the very good way. I am more open-minded nowdays. So DO THIS GUYS! ;>
Why you don't study French it's EASY almost the Spainish , English. How the word Pourqoui = Why ( Questions) Because= Parce que (Answer) or wee-kend = weekend , the preposition On usually in 3 choses that tobe as the it in english, also ? in English how Am i? which Suis-je?. try please and truth's that to be very easy
that's "funny" because my now best friend (who was a random student i met during my exchange) had ACL surgery abroad as well. That was really difficult for him as he couldn't easily explore the cities and attend to events anymore. Hopefully we sorted things out and we successfully included him in almost all our activities. As a French, i wanted to go very far away so i chose South Korea. I met so much people and surprisingly there were a lot of French people as well. That was also difficult to become friends with germans, even though i can understand it and speak it (i'm lacking so much vocabulary, i'm considering giving this language up as i have no use of it) . I think this is because Germans and French have a weird relationship. I skipped classes to go to Tokyo for 10 days, this city is INSANE. This is so cool that you can go there regularly (you probably have a lot of family members there). I enjoyed so much TEAMLABS planet, the new exhibition in the water is dope. I will try to do my master's degree in another country, this is the simplest (but not easiest) way to grow
I wan really na be your boy friend. You are so excellent in English. And you are so beautiful. Whenever you are ready to explore the world please come to Laos, I will be your guide tour for free.
I don’t now what you say,I keep staring your face that how beautiful are you.specially ur eyes n four moles on your face which enhances ur beauty.although m 50 years old but I fall in love . Keep speaking my likes n love with you
your words are coming like a river flow naturally , smoothly , nicely in its own way . I could not divert for a moment during complete videio. very beautuiful.
I really enjoyed this video, because this is a difficult time in life. I am in doctorate now, in University since 2010, and sometimes is really difficult to live these moments, we changed a lot in the process, and sometimes is necessary to try new and different things to support the pression. Keeping in focus and continue to doing beautiful videos to show us. I really enjoy
Little lady: -be strong-,🙂 perhaps this not the answer you would like to hear but is the one that you will still hear from humans (because we are still on that kind of survival situation), if you don't take care of yourself then who? We need strong people like you to make good on this world. Don't fall over the superficiality of it. Take care. And I hope you are on better shape from that moment to now. I wish you the best. Hey thanks for recommending me JoJo , I don't know why but out of so many anime I watched , Jojo is the best anime . So thanks to you 🥰
I admire Your effort to learn so many languages. I am a pensioner and trying to learn English. My school Russian, unfortunately, I have all of them forgotten. While I study English, I learn German grammar, which I can speak but I cannot really explain. Perhaps I have forgotten that too.
I wish You much luck furthermore and thanks for Your teaching.
Hi ruri :) where in austria did you stay?? (austrian myself, so i am curious haha)
südtirol :)
@@ruriohama we can argue about südtirol being austria but i know what you mean :D
Why were you able to get the noodle meal in the German hospital? German people do not eat noodles.
Hey Ruri San thanks for recommending Jojo , it was one of the best anime I have seen , so yeah I do love Jojo ✨🥰

🇰🇿TENGRI BLESSING YOU!🙏
you are from turkey 🇹🇷 ruri

Bavaria, Swiss & Austria = German, but different accent and it freaked me out in the beggining xD
I am a born Russian girl and my mom and I moved to Germany, when I was 10 years old ^^° so my hard time started already early..
There is very hot, they wake up and go sleep late, fiesta, "strange" people XD yes "strange", because the communication was REALLY difficult
But yeah, I am still happy, that I did a lot exchanges, this changed me a lot.
Ruri , girl, literally l’ve been having my exams to exchange to America and now l have interviews but u published this video l’m a bit scared…😅😞
that's "funny" because my now best friend (who was a random student i met during my exchange) had ACL surgery abroad as well.
Geçmiş olsun
Get well Ruri.

3:11 - 3:16 that hits so differently. Of course you have home 😅
3:10 I volunteer to be your home. Anyways cool accent
That's video so useful for me thanks yuri
Little lady: -be strong-,🙂 perhaps this not the answer you would like to hear but is the one that you will still hear from humans (because we are still on that kind of survival situation), if you don't take care of yourself then who? We need strong people like you to make good on this world. Don't fall over the superficiality of it. Take care. And I hope you are on better shape from that moment to now. I wish you the best.
Remember: "You are not alone you always be warmed by the heat of yourself".
By the way Turkish sounds Yummy.
Woah this is awesome!! 😎😍 Thanks for sharing your experience, Ruri! 💛💛
