Very interesting I am in the process of teaching myself how to use 3x5 index cards in conjunction with Mind Mapping (Tony Busan) which has helped me enormously in the past;) thank you for your video!
Thank you very much, Cynthia, this was very helpful! I've always felt somehow that index cards are a great organizing tool, but just needed some implementation examples. And thanks to you I've got two crucial points externalized: 1). Analog tools (like index cards are) and media (e.g. printed books) are incomparably better and more efficient for work in a higher level thinking mode. 2). Digital tools indeed easily fragment attention and energy!
I always used a notebook for all my ideas but wanted to have specific thoughts, and ideas together I had a lot of index cards for my to do lists for school now I know what I can use my black index cards for! Thank You!
Love the video and definitely relate to everything you have shared. I am such a documenter that this will be more visually stimulating for me for brainstorming and while staying focused.
Thank you ~ I've been looking for a better way to keep facts and ideas for my new podcast. Recording facts and ideas in my notebook hasn't been working out as later I waste time looking for and even worse, I forget completely until it's too late. I think the sticky notes in my binder will be what I try.
I would love to hear more examples of how you have used these for various protected. I also love/suffer project idea expansion and my brain bursts with inventions/systems/organization. Index cards seem a good way to visualize a huge concept map, while being editable, and able to stack away when company comes.
You explained your idea so clearly. Thanks for the inspiration.
My pleasure, Laura!
