I've tried to edit an episode of OUAT before but it had a copyright lock on it and U couldn't manipulate it at all. Have you experienced that issue and if so, how do you bypass it?
Sometimes there is no way around copyrighted material. I usually get muted because of the music I use. I have had to change some of the music I originally edited in a few times. A good rule of thumb is if you can find it on RUclips you can use it. If it's in your personal library you probably won't be able to use it. As for the clips-- the same applies. I simply use other people's cut footage of the episode and it never gets flagged. Or you can flip the image or put a border on it (something to change the original). I'm not sure about any other ways. Hope this helps!
