I genuinely believe this should’ve been the First Co-Finals MVP with Tim and Manu
Oh, this one's good!
All-Star games had co-MVPs.
Rather argue if Manu or Tim, both should be recognized.
Now it's up to them who'll bring the newly-designed Finals MVP trophy.
I love defensive basketball. The Pistons of that era are one of my favorite squads ever.
I remember watching Duncan, Horry, Bowen and Tony do their thing (I hope I'm not forgetting anyone). Then Ginobili was like magic. He would somehow split the two Wallace's and score. I've said it before. Gino is an agent of chaos. His game wrecked defenses. In later years he would come on the floor as the 6th man and run up the score...giving the other team no rest. Pop used him to exhaust teams with lesser depth or endurance. Great player. Great coaching.
This was one of those series where you wish it could go on forever.
Manu is and will forever be THAT Dude 💯🇦🇷
I love these Docuseries , I can't wait for more ❤ Go Spur's Go!
Go Spurs Go
Manu should have gotten MVP
Nope.
No Duncan fought his guts out for 7 games..
I thought so but tim was the rightful one..
And Timmy and Manu didn't mind. But yeah, Manu was cool in that series.
Your spot on! If he had all of the big 3 would have retired as a MVP finalist.
Still get goosebumps watching this. Manu is the ultimate competitor.
Miss those days 😔
But grateful for them and I remember this one as a sophomore in high school

Go Spurs Go
The best Finals ever played!!!
This was an amazing series! I watched every minute of it!
I remember as a spurs fan the feeling of anxiousness all through out the game 7 and the feeling of relief after.
This was the hardest, thougfest finals the Spurs ever played ever!!!!
Best title of them all! I like the win over Miami, but this one is the most satisfying. Should have won 3 in a row. Would have, if not for .04
Actually, should have won 5 in a row. In 2006, that foul on Dirk killed us.
Yep
Watching it live, that dunk in overtime by Horry in game 5 was like Michael Jordan in space jam. He was holding his shoulder like it dislocated. Wild game!
Had Manu not been injured during this series, I genuinely believe he would have won MVP.
Duncan played on 2 sprained ankles and planter faschitis in this series against a monster defense hell bent on stopping him more so than any other spur and Duncan still rocked them especially with his offensive rebounding
As a Detroiter and as someone who remembers this game like it was yesterday....I just wanna say that I still hate you Spurs, for what you did to my Pistons.
Spurs for life foooo #GSG
Go Spurs Go
yeah! one of the most memorable and awesome series ever.
I remember being at a Spurs vs Pistons home game as a kid back in 04-05. Rip had his black mask I think I can recall.
Don't get me wrong, I love Tim Duncan but the MVP should have been Manu.
No not even. Duncan on 2 sprained ankles and planter faschitis dominated the paint against a monster defense hell bent on stop him sending him 3 players to gsurd him every possession. Ginobili plated great but was a bit inconsistent and terrible on the road
Timmy deserve the MVP, without his dominance the Spurs won't be able to navigate at the paint easily.
Even the stats back ups TD as the FMVP.
Sean Elliott quipped winning the franchise's 3rd Title solidified Tim's place in Springfield (Massachusetts; HoF venue).
It's sad Robert Horry wasn't around to relive/re-tell his Game 5 heroics. Like Stephen Jackson, he's indifferent to the Spurs. He felt the Spurs could've won 5 straight Titles if not for Pop's coaching decisions and missed opportunities.
On the other hand, very happy for journeyman Tony Massenburg and Glenn Robinson. The latter was a member of Milwaukee Bucks who have that knack of giving Spurs fits in 2000s.
Rather arguing Manu deserves MVP nod more than Tim, one comment here pulled a much better proposal: co-Finals MVPs. It happened in All-Star games. Why not in basketball's grandest stage?
Got me emotional!
Great game, we all suffered through it!!!
I have always felt manu deserved the MVP...he should have gotten the MVP in the Miami 2 series
I was so fckin nervous tht time on game 7.. I think its easy 4 manu to drive bcos tim make the 2 wallace and mcdyes in foul trouble.. So great tht we win tht time.. Spurs 4 life..
I was graduated from high school as a senior in 2004-05
Detroit Pistons had given San Antonio Spurs all they could handle
woooooooooooooooooo
