This is one of the best wheeling videos I've seen. I love the format where the driver is sharing what he is thinking and what he is doing to operate the vehicle! No bad language and no one gets excited! Good Job! Thanks so much for sharing this
Thanks! We have a couple more scheduled for January, should get a chance to have more content up soon! Did you see the episode with Tony from GenRight? Episode 1 of Driver's Seat
The best thing about this style off roading is that you are not bouncing up the rock face and destroying everything in your path. There is very little (if any) damage to the trails! Love this rig, I want one!
I have watched a ton of great rock crawling videos but this one really stands out, due to his methodical drying skills and even the comintating is doing a great job
I'm sorry, I'm genuinely not doing this to be a "grammar nazi" but to just inform you. It's commentating * along with driving* but I'm guessing that was a type
We ran this trail when we were down for trail hero 2019. It was one of the guided tours. Very glad we did it,as I was a bit nervous running a trail with a 12 rating. But we did very well on it. Thanks for putting the time into finding these trails Rich. Cheers from Canada!
What an excellent video - thanks so much! Anyone into rock crawling should watch this to learn a little about finesse. Known Steve for many years and not only is he a great guy, but an amazing driver (obviously!) and fabricator. Make sure you stop by his shop when hitting Sand Hollow!
Can you guys do another video with Steve Nantz??? this is one of my favorites and would love to see him to another 12-14 rated trail or a whole new one out at sand hollow. Love your content!!!!
The skills and the insane machine made this look like a walk in the park. Nice video and good to find others not liking to just bounce their way up a hill.
You know you are watching someone very talented at what they do when you think,..."hey I can do that" when the truth is - no you can't. Great video - thank you
This guy drives like Clapton plays guitar....makes it look easy You know Uncle has it together when he can jiba-jabber AND crawl over `pohaku Mahalo!!...Great video!
This is awesome I think I've ever seen a video where the pro operator in this sport actually informed us of how to operate correctly, I don't have a buggy, yet. Hopefully one day I'll get to that cuz this looks intensely enjoyable
WOW and I mean a genuine WOW. That is spectacular and a great explanation and tips. A sincere thank you for taking the time to record and post. Amazing stuff IMHO.
Absolutely a GREAT wheeling video! Haven't been to Sand Hollow yet but will be soon. Looking forward to meeting Steve at his shop. Thanks for the lessons from a pro like Steve, for running this trail and looking forward to more videos like these in the future. Keep em coming....
Wow, you and your totally awesome vehicle just kept me glued to the video. I love this kind of exiteing and exillerating adventure action craziness fun in a vehicle going slow. Enjoying the ride. It's the first time on your channel. I'm staying for the fun. Rock on n one. Great job. Keep up the good works.
I love how quiet he got that engine. Must be a lawnmower with a few mufflers on it. Also, I see he's running the same driveshafts that I do. Curtis makes some nice shafts.
Awesome 10/10! So much learning in a well organized crawl along video, I would have chicken skin to see this in person, Video usually doesn’t do the trail justice on perception . More please
I am going to watch this vid. until I get sick of it.Definitely the coolest Rock crawl video i've seen to date Easy, easy nice and slow Beautiful scenery And a great instuctional vid. AND no distacting background music or fast moving video clips

I haven’t finished the video yet so I don’t know how it goes for him but holy smokes that buggy is insane and what is the power plant I’m guessing it’s not a LS.

Just found this video worked with Steve Nance at four wheeler Supply in Phoenix back in the day he built my roll cage on my wagon awesome fabricator awesome dude 😈😈😈😈
Make no mistake this vehicle is very capable , But the Allusion is 90% driver's skill. Put this machine in most are hands and we would have shit the bed a longtime ago .🥴So regardless of how capable we believe this crawler to be.Having driving skills is a must and this dude can drive. Thanks for sharing
I am always seriously concerned about damage to the environment but this was amazing. Thank you. Would you mind telling a complete novice about your engine size, horsepower ,gear ratios etc.
This area is designated for this type of motorsport and the environmental impact is very low. The motor is a Chevy EcoTec, Jeep 904 Transmission, and jeep Dana 300 transfer case. Motor puts out roughly 200 HP and has a crawl ration of about 70:1
Sweet rock crawler. Wish that sucker was in my garage. What was the air pressure in those huge tires when you ran this trail? They don't look aired down at all.
BFGoodrich Tires work well on Sand Hollow terrain. Figure most people run 7-8 psi but with the 42" tire on a 20" wheel, there is less sidewall to flex, one reason why they are the best tire out there for this sport.
Maybe this is a stupid question, but is the rear-steer on that rig proportional (automatic return to center)? If not, that would explain why he's avoiding using rear-steer. It's a pain in the ass to get non-proportional rear-steer setups straight again when you're on an obstacle.
H3R3T1C it does not self center. We try not to use it because of a couple reasons... 1. It is a personal goal to only use it when needed. 2. It will get you into more trouble than most understand. 3. We wanted to film the trail as if any buggy type vehicle could drive, showcasing that you don’t need Rear Steer to complete the trail.
I remember years ago when Lions Back ridge was still open. A jeep fell off the right side (facing the trail) and got wedged in the crack in the rock. There was a tow truck going up Lions Back to try to winch it out. It was pretty wild seeing a tow truck climb the near vertical wall to get up there.
Just jaw dropping, I say Oh My God is that possible? I can not stop rewatching. A actual motor vehicle not a monster thing climbing with hydraulics and Steve does not even have the ego of a Amatuer rock crawler. And he is not burning and bouncing like the amatuer idiots.
I'm back. I have watched many such cars (?) doing these incredible things, It has occurred to me that you might not want or be able to drive this same course in the other direction. ie downhill. would this hugely different or difficult.?
Steve is one of the best guys in the sport. Amazing dude
Still one of the best youtube videos of all time. I still watch this a couple times a year before I head to Utah.
ABSOLUTLY LOVE how quiet this rig is - this thing is a true work of art.
Unbelievable! Never in a million years would I guess a vehicle could climb that and make it look so easy. That is some incredible driving.
Anything is possible with a torch an welder
@@meanf1502 yep, and the ability to figure out proper suspension geometry
Love that seamless shift from 2wd to 4wd on the climbs. Never would have thought to do something like that.
Top notch format and description of moves ahead. Just flawless!

I agree! BTW, this one sold recently for 55g's and I know the guy who built it if you want one ;)
I've done all kinds of off roading and some light jeep rock crawling. But this is insane. I can't imagine going over this stuff. 👍🇺🇲
Steve.. "anybody could do that...I saw you do it Rich" hahahahaha.
Freaking awesome video guys!!

In RC crawling we call that a dig unit. Its essentially the same thing. To see on an actually crawler is mind blowing for me!
The rc crawlers came second. Full size crawlers have had dig for a long time. Atlas transfer cases have dig built in.

I guess adding water to the tires also lowers the center of gravity a lot for such a light buggy. How much water is in each tire?
