Not to defend the indefensible but Spacey's absense from the top billing and promotion tour for Se7en worked in the film's favor. If people knew he was in the film and not on screen with the lead actors, it would spoil the reveal he was the villain.
...I could never understand how Marlon Brando kept getting cast after hearing repeatedly how awful he was to others on set. "He was a good actor!!!" Yeah...but a major jerk actor at that and quite often not even doing the script like he was supposed to making it difficult for EVERYONE and he literally didn't care.
So many research mistakes. 1) Spacey won Supporting Actor. 2) Dan Aykroyd and Rosie O'Donnell were not "the hottest comedians" in 1994, not even close. 3) OSCAR WINNING CAMERON DIAZ?? Never even nominated. These videos - even if hyperbolic and unoriginal - are usually at least accurate. Do better or just get AI to replace you.
4:03 I liked this movie when I was a teen. Like when one of the sexy guys asks Rosie what he could do for her, she says, “Go paint my house.” Still makes me laugh to this day. 😂
Is it Andy Serkis as.... everything? because yes. It is him doing everything. He is the greatest at the motion capture art and deserves recognition for it. And needs more roles as a person because he's still one of the best actors working today.
Considering the underwater affair, does 2:58 really allude to crying out of frustration or would it just be the physiological effect of chlorine irritation?
Best CGI character has to be Gollum - the original motion capture character. And while I love the LOTR Trilogy, I always felt a lot of the first hour of The Return of the King is essentially an epilogue to The Two Towers. The plot only really starts when Pippin's curiosity gets the better of him and he uses the Palantir.
Actually, it wasn't the original motion capture character. Ralph Bakshi made an animated version of Lord of the Rings years before and filmed actors to use as templates for the animation.
@@akfreed6949The ONLY thing O.J. was seen in After getting away with murder was the motorcade for his funeral. That doesn't make them good or bad, simply victims of media being concerned about losing $$$ on them
It's ironic that after an actor does the work, in many cases, their *additional* work isn't done. 🤔 It's especially silly when only the corporate cronies will be making the lion's share of the profits. But that's how it goes. Low man on the totem pole syndrome is almost always in effect.
Most of these actors have pressers written in to the contract, it's not added on after. Also, these big-name actors make massive amounts of money making these films with absolutely zero risk if the movie is terrible. When a guy gets paid 8 figures for a few weeks work and some pressers it's tough to feel sorry for them. Somehow you do but I'm guessing you have never been even close to an actual set or studio, right? I worked for Paramount for about 20 years, the actors are NOT picked on.
@Heathcoatman It's one thing to mention "big name" actors. But they don't even represent a SINGLE percentage point of the acting community. In fact, just like the strikes demonstrated, they barely comprise a fraction of the whole. What'd you do at Paramount?
I am fairly sure that But Reynolds was never considered a dead ringer for an Oscar. Dead ringer means an exact lookalike and without a ton of gold paint, a razor and some briefs, Burt Reynolds never looked like a shaven, muscular, naked golden guy with no genitalia. You may be looking for another expression like sure thing, sure bet, slam dunk, cinch or shoe in.
I do feel where Christopher Plummer is coming from. If had to work with children and had to listen to the same music over and over again, I would be getting drunk too.
It's Bajan. It's from Barbados, and is often pretty heavy. Kind of like Tom Hardy's accent for Bane, it would have probably been divisive if they'd kept it in.
What kind of accent does Cameron Diaz use , Sokovian, Wakandan?! Who stars In CRYSTAL SKULL & the first 3 TRANSFORMERS movies?!😹 TBF TRANSFORMERS 2 was bad & suffered more from the writers strike

@@_GeneralMechanics_ and the truth is...everyone on the film hated Spacey and he was never actually asked to do anything.
@jdscottphd That makes sense, especially in hindsight.
He was great at playing the villain, just came naturally to him.
At least Christopher Plummer softened his stance towards "The Sound of Music" in his later years, and even appeared in cast group interviews.
Christopher Plummer felt you couldn't truly experience The Sound of Music unless you viewed it in its original Klingon. 😺😺
Q'apla! 🖖
Spacey won Best SUPPORTING Actor for The Usual Suspects. Not Best Actor.

He got away with it because he was Marlon Brando . If you still can't figure it out you don't know .
Box office draw. People see his name on a film and line up to buy a ticket

Oscar winning Camerin Diaz. That one was jaw dropping to me.
WhatCulture be WhatCulturing.
Spacey wasn't even famous at the time, contrary to what was said
@@Pedroramossss he had won the Oscar but wasnt "that" famous, yes

Andy Serkis as Caesar from the Planet of the Apes franchise had the best creature performance.
Ed Harris refused even to talk about "Abyss".
Same with Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio. For understandable reasons.

1:57 ironic twist, putting his name on anything now would be…well you’d need to reshoot your movie basically.
Christopher Plummer can't reshoot his scenes anymore either.

I agree.
Gollum's CGI doesn't look shaky or fake.
Actually, it wasn't the original motion capture character. Ralph Bakshi made an animated version of Lord of the Rings years before and filmed actors to use as templates for the animation.
Everything I learn about Brando makes him seems even more incredibly based.
The Cameron Diaz bit… is… weird
Gosh darn she's fine though.
I volunteer to be… windshield 😂
12:28 They should’ve kept this opening and cut most of the stuff with that goddamned spider.
The Counselor is great, nowhere near Scott’s worst
I enjoyed it too
1:26 Kevin Spacy isn't disgraced. He was cleared by a jury. That makes him innocent.
Yeah ? So that's why no one's hiring him anymore .
He was found innocent in a court of law. That's all. Obviously, others don't think so.
