You may remember the well let's just call it “interesting” recruitment Yohan had with Tech out of HS
Averaged 14.5 PPG, 5.1 RPG and shot 58.3% from the field
Started his college career at Auburn after being a 5-star recruit in the 2022 Class
Is being recruited by Texas Tech, Florida, Cincy, SMU, Arizona State and others
A physical center that can finish through contact
Good touch and feel for the basketball (36% from the left elbow)
He’s an okay post-up player (64th percentile nationally - 0.9 PPP)
Understands spacing well for a big and keeps hands available for PBH to see
Ranked in the 67th percentile nationally as a cutter
Elite Roll/Pop man in the P&R ranking 88th percentile nationally (1.37 PPP)
Great feel to set the screen or slip in the P&R
Not the most “high-flying big”, but understands and uses his body well and to his strengths
RC’s Take: He would be a perfect fit alongside Fede as a frontcourt duo for the Red Raiders. That said, it’s going to be a fight to land him in the portal

RC’s Take: The biggest need right now for the Red Raiders is a PBH. That said, focusing on getting another big to pair with Fede and more length on the wings are also priorities.
That said, no need to panic on this front, remember Tech didn’t add Joe Toussaint to the roster until July 4th last year.

Point Guard has to be key to having a complete roster. A close 2nd is an another big.

With No Pop, No Joe, No Keenan Evans, we need a driving, versatile point guard like those 3, who can also make his free throws, as he will get fouled alot.
Question: WHO is working with centers (like Al Pinkins did)? All Fede/Fede needs is a 2-ft. jump hook. Not Kareem's Sky Hook, but a serviceable little jump hook. If he can't shoot, he sure as heck needs an advantage, and the jump hook will work well. I can't see WHO on this staff is the person working with Centers. We need one if we don't have one.

Primary ball handler is the glaring need in starting lineup, (obviously another big needed too, but happy to have at least 1 given how much time is left in portal). Big day today with Hepburn, Shluga, and basically Hoggard entering portal. Would love any of those 3 or Hunter, but not sure if we have contacted any other than Hunter.
After forward & center or perhaps before we need a great point guard who can distributed the ball and more.

Agree that the ball handler is key, but another big is second.
Absolutely need a PG. Gotta be able to protect the ball and get the ball to shooters.

@@TheBackTo12Podcast I agree, they compliment each other well. The only potential issue I see in terms of fit is him being unwilling to compete for a starting role. He might feel like he should be guaranteed a starting role and I’m not sure Tech is in the position to make that guarantee. That’s a lot of speculation on my part though, so we’ll what happens.

Is Tyrese Hunter a legit option? He is exactly what this roster needs. He is a stud with the ball and unselfish was well.

In a perfect world we have a roster where Tyrese Hunter is PG and Traore is your starting 5… but I fear neither will happen. Lots of teams going to be throwing absolute bags at these guys
I think you’re probably right but I do think Tech will attempt to make a run at both depending on the players priorities

I don’t think he’s a clear cut starting 5, but like I said I think YT and Fede would be a really good duo at the 5 and compliment each other well

He averaged 28 last year so would be a step down minutes wise, but a massive step up in comp and opportunity
