- It's been over 20 years since we've seen a Pop-Tarts cereal on shelves. Kellogg's finally re-released the old 1994 classic, but this time it's a little different. You should be able to find boxes of it at Walmart right now.

Pop tart crunch was sooooo good back in the day....I really wish they re-made it
Not gonna lie, I remember the taste (and crunchiness) of the original like it was yesterday. This new version is NOT like the original.
It's like they just made two new flavors of their bootleg dubbed Krave, slapped the Pop-Tarts brand on it and called it a day.
Ohhh! The brown sugar cinnamon Pop-Tarts cereal looks good!!

I did a Trix video a couple years back. Nothing has really changed to warrant a new video. I'm a fan of the original spheres, not the shapes that came later.

I remember this cereal. I wasn't to fond of many cereals, but this one was one of my favorites.
Resisting the urge to pour this cereal into my toaster.
Went to Walmart recently and bought a 16-pack of Frosted Crisp Apple Pop-Tarts. They are good.

The 1994 version had yellow corn flour corn flour and oat flour they took the same ingridients as krave and just used it for the pop tart cereal and used it so it’s a different texture
In 1994, Pop Tart Crunch used a Corn Texture and Bran Flavored Shell with Frosting and Filling. What make it so FANTASTIC was that it had a freeze dried Pop Tart Filling as its filling. It was like eating a Turnover! It was so Delicious!

Thanks! That's one of the reasons I started making these a few years ago. For posterity. I wish RUclips existed in the 80s and 90s because people would've been able to document so many things like cereal, snacks, toys, and other pop culture stuff. Trips down memory lane are fun!

I never tried the Pop-Tart cereal back in the '90s, but I did used to eat Pop-Tarts. I also used to eat Toaster Strudels back in the '90s as well. I liked them both equally in their own ways. I don't eat either anymore, but I do love and currently eat Annie's Homegrown Organic Brown Sugar Cinnamon Toaster Pastries on some days when I need something quick and don't have time to eat my beloved cereal. Best toaster pastry in my opinion!

I will never forget the day my mama let me pick the cereal while grocery shopping and I ran over there looking for my beloved pop tart crunch (strawberry). I ran up and down that aisle several times and was close to tears. They were gone 😢 I still remember the taste vividly. I was sooo excited to try the new ones but was disappointed. It's not the same and neither are many other cereals. I wish they would stop changing the recipes 😒
I don't think I ever got to try Pop Tarts Crunch back in 1994, so to have the new Pop Tarts cereal that has a similar recipe is really cool. I've waited 25 years to try this stuff!
I also remember the old version vividly. I too reviewed the new stuff via a live stream, and you and I had VERY similar reactions. Like it's good, and passable, but NOT the old stuff. I bought a box of each, but unfortunately idunno if i'd buy more. It's a fun trip down memory lane, but it's just not the same.

I grew up in the 1990's and I was never aware of the pop tarts crunch cereal. there were lots of cereals I knew that I loved eating but there are some cereals from those days that I never noticed.
I think I'll have to pour a little extra strawberry jam on these.
Has anyone ever tried Grape Pop-Tarts?? Those were the absolute best!! Raspberry is great too, but the grape ones were like Concorde grape or something...really delicious.

I REMEMBER Pop Tart Crunch! It was Fantastic! It tasted like having A Turnover Cereal for Breakfast. I ate it Religiously for the 3 years it was out.(It launched Around August 1994). The last time I saw a Box was about June 1997. It was 10X times BETTER than Hidden Treasures.
Gabe's worst nightmare is waking up in a world where the ONLY cereal that is made and in stores is a Coffee flavored version of KRAVE.

Pop Tarts are a big part of my childhood. My favorites would have to be Wild Berry, Strawberry, and Blueberry. Though I also like Toaster Strudel too, especially the frosting. So much so, that I actually like to eat the frosting by itself instead of putting it on the pastry.

I was pretty hyped 'til I saw that pitiful filling. Still, it's Pop-Tarts cereal, a combo of two of my favorite things, so it kinda demands to be tried. As for more retro cereals we need. ICE CREAM CONES. Vanilla. Make it so, General Mills!
Would love to see Ice Cream Cones again! They already rebooted it once back in the day, so I doubt we'll see it again. But I hope so!

The last time I really loved pop tarts was when they had the Apple Cinnamon pop tarts around '95 or so. Then of course they discontinued them.

Lol your hate for Krave is so funny😂 I’m a krave fan so I didn’t expect but honestly I’m not surprised, it needs more chocolate . As for the pop tart cereal I think that the strawberry taste is kinda strong so I think the amount is pretty good. I

Very curious how the Hidden Treasures have held up all these years. Got an unopened brown cinnamon Pop Tarts Crunch but the strawberry looks much cooler with the colored sprinkles. I remember them being really rich

wow thanks for uploading this. i found this at Walmart and got some of my own. i was eagerly waiting for your response to this. for me, its average and not too bad. but when you pointed out that the 1990's version might of had more filling, i felt a little betrayed by them. oh well right you cant win them all. maybe if they were heated up in the microwave the filling might expand. i don't know that might be a bad idea. but it doesn't hurt to try. Anyways, great video as always man.

Probably not much filling because they're trying to fit into a caloric intake level akin to that of most cereal servings.

Some of them I've saved from back in the day, others I get on ebay or from other cereal collectors.

I love pop tarts but have never had the cereal. I also like toaster strudels and I'm pretty sure there won't be a cereal version. I was wondering if Krave and Shred's are basically the same as I've never had either.

I just tried Overwatch Lucio-Oh's (from Kellogg's), it's available at WalMart. I don't know anything about Overwatch besides it's a video game, but I had to get the cereal, my dad's name was Luciano and he was called Lucio for short. He past away last year at 90-years-old.
We were both cereal heads, I wonder what he would have thought seeing a cereal called that.
Anyway, I liked the cereal. It says vanilla flavored and there's definitely a mild vanilla flavor but you know what they really taste like? Out of all the cereals I've tried, this one comes closest to my memory of what C-3PO's tasted like.

After eating so much of krave cereal and trying the strawberry pop tart cereal it does taste like a strawberry krave, it ruined the cereal for me because all I can taste is krave cereal, wouldn't doubt it's the same formula except with strawberry, frosting, and sprinkles. It's a good thing you don't like krave or else it may have tasted like it.
Not too fond of the filling in a Toaster Strudel! It tastes more artificial to me compared to the filling in a Pop Tart! There are however some dessert-based Toaster Strudels that I would like to try though.

Wasn't there a bight sized Pop tarts snack? I forgot about it until I saw that cereal, and I thought that was what I was thinking of. Then I found out that it came out in 1994. I was born in the early 2000s, so there must have been something similar at the time.

Here are my thoughts: 1. I passed on pop-tarts cereal back in the day, 'cause I wasn't into Pop-tarts back then, but I'm eating a bowl of the strawberry flavor as I'm typing this and like it a LOT. 2.I'm still waiting for General mills to bring back Pac-Man cereal, or at least something with an identical recipe.
I WISH they'd bring back Pac-Man, but I don't think the popularity for him is still there, unfortunately.
