Quick Note: @garkin pointed out the stack mount is not supposed to be screwed to the top. Didn't realize this as its my first Mode Board and I thought it basically acts like a typical Dampener. Totally my bad on that. I will try and post more sound test with it installed correctly. I appreciate all of you!
I'm ready to blow 800+ USD on this. A few plates, different top color configurations and accent pieces, with an extra pcb and what not. The look is clean and timeless, and you can switch it out to make it last a really long time. THIS is my endgame board! Solid review as usual brother.
The review I was waiting for, thanks for showing the different configs! It sounds super clean! Thinking I might have to get a second PCB to try my hand at soldering for a half plate, just sounds super interesting with the flex cuts. I feel like your builds sounded less clacky than some of the others I’d seen, maybe due to the switches used, but I really liked the sound of those green jackets.
Solid review as always, and while I really like some of the design features of the Hope75 (like the rear RGB diffused strip & overall design with the exploded layout), this might be more my taste especially in Gray, Green, or Navy Blue with the copper bottom & accent. Love all the options for mounting type, half or full plate, & different optional foams to use. Clearly a very high quality board, which I expected after getting & loving my Mode65. 💪
Yeah man I totally get it. It's such a preference based hobby. 😂. I would have a VERY hard time chosing between the two. They both offer something totally different. I appreciate you as always homie. 🙏
U also don’t know what is being lost when he records it and when it comes through your speaker plus there are different configurations which could change it a lot
Great vid dude! I got all black parts with pom and plate foam. Would you prefer POM with or without plate foam? I wonder whats the difference in sound and feel regarding the plate foam. Thanks!
So plate foam vs case foam. Plate foam would mute the sound of the switches. While case foam is typically for hollowness. Both types of foam would make the build stiffer as well. I typically do not like plate foam with POM. It’s already a quiet plate and I like to keep its flexiness
There's so many people deciding between the Hope75 and Sonnet right now. Perhaps a video with sound comparison between the two will be popular with your favorite switches and the same keycaps? 😊
Great video as always! How would you compare those Green Jackets vs the Zakus you have on the F row. Seems like the specs are the same except for the top housing. Do the Green Jackets sound more thoccy?
Green jackets sound nice. I have the oil kings ready for my Mode 80 that should ship soon. Just ordered some epsilons for whatever 75 I choose. Sonnet is at the top of the list. Great content as always.
Great video! Love how the sonnet looks here. What do you think of the Green Jacket Switches? Do they sound more clacky higher pitched or deeper like the red jackets IRL?
Sonnet or QK75? Sonnet was at the top of my list for 75s… then QK announced theirs. Hard to justify Sonnet now. Thoughts? Ready to see your QK review!!
So which Green Jacket is which in the soundtests, because isn't there a Linear & Tactile-variant, both with the same name? The demos were much too short to really ID them.
@@Clackbait Just seeing this now, thanks a bunch for the info.👍🏽I've got high hopes for the tactile-variants as well now, and personally hope they cater towards the light/medium-light tactility crowd that's still criminally under-repped. Based on what I've heard so far in direct-comparisons, these things sound quite different than even other long poles, and including on the bottom out! Very interested... (Not KNC-related, but DAMN those Reflex sound unique as well! 🤤) Does the travel feel abruptly short even with the deeper-than-average center post hole? Very much appreciate such high-quality rundowns with multiple A-B references, and that *does* include the short individual demo clips! Helps to curb listening fatigue & memory-coloration like long demos can, nor is it long enough to leave a lasting bias to any one sound profile. But don't underestimate the other benefits of a regular old listening-demo, just for the joy of the clacks! ✌🏽😎
What switch do I have to use for this board? I have sonnet upcoming soon and I already have many Akko Switches here, I am planning on using POM Silver lubed since I have lots of them
@@Clackbait I'm looking for a prebuilt 65/75/TKL keyboard that sounds and feels good out-of-the-box. Apparently Iqunix or Malgeek keyboards are the best but I'm looking for alternatives. Just to confirm in the video is that really gold color aluminum bottom or is that brass bottom? The finish is amazing if actually aluminum. Hope someone can confirm. I was thinking of blue top with grey accent and bottom, but this gold looks nice, so I am thinking blue with gold instead.
Would you be able to give a configuration code the closest to this? They don't have gold accents anymore. Only dawn. Would you say dawn is closest to gold? And what budget keycaps closest to yours used
