Great video. Lots of information. It would be nice if there was only one stamp. I love B3 bags and I use them in my weekly tournaments. Unfortunately the big tournaments in my area are always ACL. So I can't use my favorite bags. Coyotes and Fatals.
Great video Mike, I am a TCL guy, and I love the direction TCL is going with their number stamped bag it does seem to make sense but like everything else there is The reach for money,But we have to remember it’s a business and to run a business takes money I have no problem supporting TCL I think they’re doing a fantastic job, thanks again for all the info keep up the good work
Very informative! One interesting issue that all bag makers are facing right now is that one of the most popular fills is no longer available. The company that makes the popular "flat fill" changed the process and the fill is different now. Fills are pretty hard to keep consistent. It doesn't matter what the leagues say or what the rules are, the fills are going to change.
my weekly events allow any bags so i just buy whatever's affordable and good quality. swag, b3, etc. lol. i play on concrete and they wear out quick. usually wait for holiday or clearance sale
Appreciate this video ... and the ACL Pro stamp bugs me too. Calling it a cash grab is a perfect way to explain it. Between this and all the other ways they are grabbing for money, it'll be interesting to see if they over reach
Unless the rules and bag specs change for that year, I don't know why the year stamp should effect anything. But I'm sure people who are playing at these events aren't too worried about not being able to use last year's $100 bags.
You can use previous years bags. Bags are good for multiple seasons. Bag companies make changes to the bags from year to year. The year stamp helps determine which bag that you have.
@MikesBags then I must've misinterpreted the year date and info. I thought to play that event that year, you had to play this year's or next year's release.
@lwmhawj348 Bags are good for multiple seasons. For example, this ACL season, you can throw bags with the 21-22 stamp, 23 stamp, and 24 stamp. The ACO is requiring all players to throw ACO stamped bags this season. However, the ACO stamp does not have years on it so as long as that bag is still on the approved list and has a stamp, it can be thrown. The TCL added a year to their stamps this season. Their stamps have the year the bags expire. The stamp this year has 25 on it. That means the bag are good through the 2025 season.
Cornhole Bag Reviews (CBR) along with Corbin’s Cornhole Reviews had a podcast explaining the differences between what constitutes a Pro versus Comp ACL stamp through the eyes of a manufacturer since CBR also produces the SubZero brand - it has more to do with availability/production volume than with quality or specifications.
The production factors into the tier that the bag maker is part of. That tier determines how many Comp and Pro stamped bags they can have. It has nothing to do with the bag being Pro or Comp stamped. There is no production difference between the two stamps.
there still a misconception here....just because it is stamped, DOES NOT mean the bag model will stay the same. Many ACL Pro stamped bags have changed template, fill, and even materials. Nonstamped bags should IMO have a model number or their own stamping procedures.
ACL stamped bags cannot change without being approved by the league. I believe the ACL only allows changes at one point in the middle of the season. Very few companies make mid season changes to their bags. Now, different years can change.
So what bags would you recommend for someone for starters? I'm not looking to go pro lol, but for someone that wants a good set. I'm sure they're a lot factors in picking out a good set of bags, but I'm looking for something to start with.
I kinda disagree with your view of not boycotting stamped bags if you have a problem with them. Buying a non stamped bag is still supporting a mom and pop shop. Someone benefits. If you don’t throw in the ACL, ACO, or TCL; why spend the extra money? Besides, in a capitalist society, you vote with your pocketbook. For the record, I purchase ACL and ACO bags. As always, great job.
Hey Mike I noticed that you have TCL Stamped Marilyn bags and it feels like I’ve been looking everywhere but I can’t find them where did you get yours?
Probably the buy, sell, trade groups on Facebook. That's where a lot of people sell their used bags. Just be careful because there are a lot scammers in those groups.
@@MikesBags that’s my worry. Facebook is filled with scammers. Wish there was a way to do this safely and securely. Our old local club would have a counter you could buy or sale at the tournaments, but unfortunately they closed their doors a couple years ago.
You can buy bags at ACL Opens and ACO Majors. The bag makers will have booths set up but you are going to be buying current bags. The only way to get older bags is buy used.
@@MikesBags have you ever thought of doing like an end of year sale? I sure your bags are staking up by now. Lol. I would rather buy used bags from someone like you rather than sorting through the scammers. I know there are bags that you love and want to keep, but maybe some of the ones that are similar or ones you don’t play with anymore. Just a thought.
I have a shop on my Ko-fi page where I sell a lot of my used bags. Ko-fi.com/mikesbags Monthly members get the first chance to buy them. Anything that they don't buy, I make available too everyone.
We care about the fees for the stamp because the bag manufacturers pass them on to the consumer. Reynolds bags went from $60 for 2023 bags to $74 for 2024.
Reynolds bags were stamped in 2023, so how can you blame the stamp for the price increase? The cost of materials and labor probably has more to do with the increase. Plus, there are non stamped bags that sell for a lot more than $74. If the stamp causes bag prices to increase, then shouldn't the non stamp bags be cheaper?
