    The images/video on the control is the best. HAAS has finally given me a reason to buy a new machine - last new machine I purchased was in 2010 and the control was deathly slow compared to my 2006 and 2007 machines. 'PLEASE WAIT.....' after every button push. This NG control seems like improvements that will actually get parts done faster.

    Thanks for all the videos Mark. On your note of "Bob check your bore sizes" I'm having issues in my 4th year apprenticeship to get messages to prompt up in my programs, like an M01 to "(re-aim coolant hoses )" after tool change. For the next guy running my programs, is there a quick code to have a box prompt up so it doesn't get missed before hitting start again?

    I didn't know about the media file code. We just got a new VF7 at work and I am so gonna use this to screw with the operators.

      Oh I can just imagine the NSFW content that is now going to be displayed on these controls!

    Is there a VF on on the Moon?

      No, but check between Saturn and Neptune.
      An oldie, but a goody.

    So is an M06 tool change stopping the spindle and turning off coolant only on new machines with next gen control or does it work with older HAAS machines as well? When I was still in school for machining we were taught to stop it and turn off coolant first, so I have never tried it. Will it work on any HAAS mill?

    • @eddrm4685

      M06 does it all on a 1997 VF-E.

      I use a Vf-2ss with the older controller, an M6 does everything. I learnt how to program on an old OKK machine, where you'd have to M9 then M5 then G0 H0 Z0. then G28 Z0. then finally M6 (No T# as that would have been called up earlier.) On the haas, it's literally just T# M6 and it will zero, turn off spindle and turn off coolant. Super easy.

      Haas has a good control.
      I hope to someday try a new one.

      Thanks guys, I guess I was good then using a late 90s or very early 2000s VF1 back at school. Ill have to call up my teacher and let him in on that little tip.

      LoadedMod94 He may have been preparing you for a control that doesn't work like a Haas.

    Man I love that machine. I wish I could find someone to adopt me to program and run one of these but no one an old man anymore : =.(

    I think my next mill is going to be a haas just for the controller

      Check how service is in your area before ya do .
      Because it sucks here in N.E., been screwed over multiple times and now only use the Haas service when absolutely necessary.
      The new control looks awesome !

      Yeah there's a lot of haas machines in my area so it's alright. Not super close to where the service people come from, but I haven't heard any horror stories yet. I shopped for haas, brother, doosan, and hurco. Almost went with Haas, but ended up with brother.

    It actually doesn't find the part... he specified the rough position of the probe in advance.

    • @JohnDoe-gv9jv
      @JohnDoe-gv9jv 8 лет назад

      Yep, you are right. He did.

      Higher part, or vice could make nasty crash. But still, its very usefull when machine automatically adjust vice angle.

  • @JohnDoe-gv9jv
    @JohnDoe-gv9jv 8 лет назад

    Seems like it could just take a picture of the part and then probe it according to the position of the picture part? You know like click there's the part then probe for fine tune in the location. Never have to indicate again. I'm awake.
