My husband just went to the grocery store to buy all the ingredients so we can make this tomorrow for Christmas. I can't wait to try it! Surprisingly, star anise was difficult to find in our local market but he did finally locate it. Merry Christmas Hanbit and the same to everyone else!
My dad usually makes this every winter and I really like how fragrant this is - it's really the smell of winter for us. It just warms you up on a cold winter night. 🥰 The only difference is that my dad doesn't add water (he likes the strong taste of wine) and he chops the apple and orange into small cubes so it's easier to eat. Drinking mulled wine in the cold winter is quite a tradition here in Romania. You can find mulled wine at every Christmas fair - you'll see people stirring the wine in some really big pots.Thank you for sharing this recipe! It's nice to see people from other parts of the world enjoying this as much as we do. Merry Christmas! 🎄
I used to live in the UK, but I only got to try mulled wine once, so I will definitely recreate this! Maybe I can relive the warm comfort of drinking this on a chilly winter afternoon ❄️⛄️
I'd suggest that if served cold you would simply call it spiced wine. Looks a nice recipe, and I like the suggestion from another viewer to add a little port and brandy. Merry Christmas everyone 🎄🎄🎄🎄
This is perfect timing, my friend loves mulled wine. I'll surprise her with this 😁 thanks for sharing and decorated so crisp and neat as always 👌 Happy Christmas 🎄
Thank you for the instruction, Chef 👨🍳 never tried with adding water before ! And you are correct - we don’t end up with much ! Hohoho. But we do add a splash of Brandy before serving though 😂
Did u cut some fresh orange peels in for the demonstration? Looking good. I didn't like the water idea but this looks delicious too. Also, i use honey instead of sugar.
Hi chef, I am thinking of making this in advance in anticipation of the many things I have to do on Christmas Eve. Could you advise as to how many days in advance I can make this. I am anticipating double or triple portions of your recipe. Thank you. Blessed Christmas!
Mmmm looks amazing shame you can't pour me a glass. Hanbit I'll let you know if I actually make some Mulled wine, which I do like although not a huge drinker of alcohol. If I don't see you before on here have a fabulous Christmas holiday with your family and friends. NAMASTE 🙏
Wow 1.7lakh subscribers...congrats Chef...yesterday i made Bake cheesecake for your recipe..Nice texture and perfect taste, and delicious.. Keep it up Chef..And Merry christmas 🎄🎄☃️ & God Bless You
#ulala you really looked so cute in Santa clause hat super Mario brother attire. Wow I wanna try that one. Do you still eat those cooked apples and oranges too?
Hi Hanbit, how long did you boil the red wine for? Because if I'm not wrong, the alcohol content will decrease with longer boil. Will these make the cooked red wine sweeter?
Hi Hanbit this is a request, could you make for us a video about making fluffy and soft cinnamon rolls ? And as a pastry chief, what is the substance of dough or bread improver? Does it use in bread only and cake or within the different kind of pastry? Thank you for all wonderful educated videos :)
Chef, i hope you notice my comment. I would like to request a MOIST classic red velvet cake with cream cheese filling... Hope you grant my request. Thank you very much! Btw, i love your videos! Very detailed most especially the iced coffees!
Cyn &@@HanbitCho : Totally! I'm living in the biggest wine area in Germany, and white mulled wine is nothing fancy. Go for a pinot blanc or something like that.
Should boil the spice and fruit with water only first, then mix in the wine and warm up slightly, never boil. If you boil or simmer the wine, there's no alcohol left... learnt from Jamie Oliver.
@@HanbitCho Well, the alcohol of the wine starts to vaporize at around 78 °C, and is probably almost completely gone when you boil it. That's why you simply don't boil wine. You'd rather go for a “negus” (hot punch) if you don't want alcohol in your drink. ;)
@@FabianBeiner If you kept it at a boil for 30 minutes, it will retain about 40% of its alcohol content. Since it was only brought to a boil and simmered for a short time, it will still retain close to half the alcohol content. Add a splash of something stronger if it's a concern.
Are you using one or two apple and oranges. While cutting the fruits it seems you are adding another apple and another orange. That is very deceptive. Why don't you advise viewers clearly instead of adding the fruits behind our back in fast motion.
@@HanbitCho The cutting board has only one apple and one orange initially. But during your cutting process, it seems you have added another orange and apple. You have fast forwarded so quick but I still noticed how come out of a sudden so many apples and oranges has been cut. So can you pls clarify really how many is needed. I hv seen several videos but other seldom add apples. By adding apples what kind of taste it gives out? Tks

Love the recent german/austrian recipes, here we also add sometimes Rum or Amaretto (kind of almond liqeur) to it for a bit of extra volume
Sounds great!

Is it possible to make mulled wine using white wine?
hmm never seen it before!
Cyn &@@HanbitCho : Totally! I'm living in the biggest wine area in Germany, and white mulled wine is nothing fancy. Go for a pinot blanc or something like that.
If the wine itself is too weak for someone, add some spirit when wine is not very hot Merry Christmas

hello!
You don't boil Mulled Wine. You heat it up to max. 70 °C.
that's exactly why i said there's no rule for it.
@@HanbitCho Well, the alcohol of the wine starts to vaporize at around 78 °C, and is probably almost completely gone when you boil it. That's why you simply don't boil wine. You'd rather go for a “negus” (hot punch) if you don't want alcohol in your drink. ;)
