    At a news conference in St. John’s, N.L., François Legault, the premier of Quebec, and Andrew Furey, the premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, announce a memorandum of understanding that sets a new price for electricity from the Churchill Falls hydroelectric plant in Labrador. The agreement also establishes the terms of a partnership for the development of future hydroelectric generating stations in the region. Joining the premiers at the announcement are Simon Pokue (chief of the Mushuau Innu First Nation in Newfoundland and Labrador), Andrew Parsons (Newfoundland and Labrador minister of industry, energy, and technology), Christine Fréchette (Québec minister of economy, innovation and energy), and Jennifer Williams (president and CEO of Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro).
