O pessoal ainda não entendeu como funciona as coisas e ficam com essa conversa de que o Brasil não reconheceu o André, que só sertanejo faz sucesso, etc... Galera, isso é questão de estilo. Metal não é mainstream, no Brasil acho que nunca será. Já tivemos bandas de rock no centro como Raimundos, CBJ, Cassia, mas nunca tivemos metal e duvido qur tenhamos algum dia. André foi um baita músico e tem seu reconhecimento sim no Brasil. Toda a galera do metal sabe quem era o cara. Nós temos Hermeto Pascoal que é um dos maiores gênios musicais de todos os tempos e ele não está na mídia pelo mesmo motivo que o André nunca esteve. Então parem de bobeira, apreciem o som do cara e mostrem para pessoas que tenham o coração aberto em relação a música que é o melhor que fazemos pelo legado dele! Grande abraço!

Inclusive, essa musica fazia parte da trilha sonora da novela Beijo do Vampiro. Não parece muita coisa nos dias de hoje, mas foi por meio da novela que conheci Fairy Tale me fazendo me interessar pelo estilo musical.
Na real, o que tu disse faz sentido, porém no nosso país o que determina parte do sucesso de uma música ou estilo musical é a mídia brasileira, rádios, novelas e programas de tv, até mesmo alguns canais em plataformas digitais, e sabendo disso, num país onde a cultura é de carnaval, mulher pelada, rebolando quase sem roupa, fazendo e trazendo apologia a alguns assuntos que não vem ao caso agora, é claro que outras músicas e estilos musicais não vão ter o mesmo número de público dessa forma... O problema é pra onde pendeu a cultura do país, infelizmente !!! E claro, tudo isso é meu jeito de pensar, e aproveitando o gancho queria deixar aqui o meu repúdio por funk brasileiro.... Pura verdade. Ele basicamente foi a trilha sonora do meu ensino médio. Lá na escola tinha um cara que dizia que o Angra era meia boca. Eu só conseguia pensar: "deve tá querendo se mostrar. Angra é ótimo!"

Fui a um show dele aqui em campo grande RJ. Tinham umas 300 pessoas no máximo. Ele entrou no meio da galera, falando com todo mundo; Eu pensei: O cara é consagrado e tem 300 pessoas e outra coisa: Ele vai cagar para o show... Vai cantar 45 minutos e vai embora, etc. Ele fez 2 horas de show, quase sem parar. Profissionalismo q ganhou mais respeito do q eu já tinha por ele. E o show... Foda, como sempre. Mas ele não falava de bunda, putaria, etc... Pena do Brasil

Andre Matos has become one of my favorite singers and songwriters ever these past few months. I love every band that he sang with. Angra, Shaman, Viper, Symfonia, Andre Matos Band, and Avantasia. He was considered a LEGEND even before he passed away and rightfully so. I can only imagine how much more amazing music he had to offer us. I love every song that Andre Matos wrote, especially Fairy Tale and Lisbon. He was a huge genius. Thanks again for this reaction and may Andre Matos Rest In Peace.

Não perde seu tempo disseminando seu ressentimento, busca terapia pra rever essas questões existenciais e busque evoluir como pessoa.

It is really exciting and surprising to see our talented Andre Matos receiving critique from a non-brazilian. A lot of fellow brazilians would love see your reaction to Andre Matos’ vocal evolution from his works on Viper (song living for the night) that he recorded when he was 18yo (he was in the band since 16yo) then on the band where he reached the peak of his carrer Angra and recorded the iconic vocals of the song Carry On at 22yo vs the song Fairy Tale (recorded 10 years later) which you reviewed here in this video. Tobias Sammet from Avantasia once said that Andre Matos had the female voice in the the metal genre that he liked the most. I grew up listening to Andre Matos and he is the reason i fell in love with singing and metal since i was 5 years old. I'm still at lost for words to describe how devasted i am with his passing. His love for his art and our culture is pretty evident in his work. You should check out more of Angra and Shaman.
Same for me, I grew up and learned to sing at 10 with Andre. I'm a woman and he is sometimes higher than me but all I know is thanks to him. I'm also devastated since June 8th.... Cheers from France
I think that André is happy (wherever he is) with the fact that his music can still make people feel joy. Fairy Tale is, hands down, one of the most powerful and beautiful songs I've heard in my life. It just takes my breath away whenever I listen to it. With that said, we couldn't expect from him anything less than greatness. He was an absolute talented man. But he was also a maestro, a trained opera singer, and also, he had played the piano since he was 7 years old. I mean??? He was incredible. It saddens me to think he left this world so young. But his legacy remains. And as the song says: "he turned into sparks that shine with the stars".
André Matos was a Brazilian singer, songwriter, conductor, producer and pianist, known for having been the lead singer of the bands Viper, Angra and Shaman. He died in 2019 due to an acute myocardial infarction. His curriculum includes Orchestral Conducting, Musical Composition, Lyrical Singing and Classical Piano. Well, Andre had degrees in classical piano, musical coposition, opera trained (singing), and was an actual orchestra conductor - How many people in metal can conduct an orchestra??? He was also a very kind and humble guy who lived with his 99yo grandpa because he wanted to take care of him :(
@@Rosannasfriend No ideia, it just happened. He showed no sign whatsoever he had any heart disease... he used to work by night and sleep by day but i don't think that would be the reason, though. He was also vegetarian... i guess it just happened.
André was overweight by the time of his death and had been in that condition during at least 2 ou 3 years before the heart attack that took his life. He was also known as someone who used to sleep during the day and work through the night while maintaining unhealthy food habits. He wasn't a heavy drinker or drug user (as long as a public subject). Those things aren't good to keep people healthy. Maybe the heart condition grew without any notice from him and it just happened. His last concert took place a week before his death. Although he looked tired and suffered a bit to hit the high notes (which is completly normal for an aging guy past his vocal prime) nobody thought he'd be dead a few days later.
I can't help but crying every time I see this. He was a genius, both singing and composing. He is so missed! An year has been since he passed and it still feels awkward; there's a hole without him. Thank you, Beth, for listening to him in this so respectful way.
André Matos died of a heart attack in São Paulo, Brazil, in 2019. A significant loss for music and especially for people who loved him as a person and musician.

"Carry On" is the first song that got me in to this type of music and will always have a place for me. You should take a look at his high notes there. Also the lyrics are amazing. As you said, his music gives you the feels and that is what its all about.

Andre said the following words once, and they have a lot of meaning now: "If I had to leave this world soon, I'd be happy and I'd really like to thank for the opportunity we've had until today, because we can share a lot of things with a lot of people and that's real art, I think maybe it's one of the only things that are worthwhile in this life". Fui a um show dele aqui em campo grande RJ. Tinham umas 300 pessoas no máximo. Ele entrou no meio da galera, falando com todo mundo; Eu pensei: O cara é consagrado e tem 300 pessoas e outra coisa: Ele vai cagar para o show... Vai cantar 45 minutos e vai embora, etc.
Ele fez 2 horas de show, quase sem parar. Profissionalismo q ganhou mais respeito do q eu já tinha por ele. E o show... Foda, como sempre. Mas ele não falava de bunda, putaria, etc... Pena do Brasil

Andre Matos has become one of my favorite singers and songwriters ever these past few months. I love every band that he sang with. Angra, Shaman, Viper, Symfonia, Andre Matos Band, and Avantasia. He was considered a LEGEND even before he passed away and rightfully so. I can only imagine how much more amazing music he had to offer us. I love every song that Andre Matos wrote, especially Fairy Tale and Lisbon. He was a huge genius. Thanks again for this reaction and may Andre Matos Rest In Peace.

O histórico dele já é aclamado e reconhecido de forma brilhante. Um exemplo que me vem à cabeça, é uma nota no dia do falecimento, emitido pela banda Epica, agradecendo pelo auxílio na confecção do álbum Consign to Oblivion, por exemplo. Não perde seu tempo disseminando seu ressentimento, busca terapia pra rever essas questões existenciais e busque evoluir como pessoa.

Check out his whole body of work, it's pretty impressive. He started out with the band Viper at 13 years of age (yup!), then on with Angra, Virgo, Shaman and solo career. Don't ask me to point a favorite, because I love them all!

It is really exciting and surprising to see our talented Andre Matos receiving critique from a non-brazilian. A lot of fellow brazilians would love see your reaction to Andre Matos’ vocal evolution from his works on Viper (song living for the night) that he recorded when he was 18yo (he was in the band since 16yo) then on the band where he reached the peak of his carrer Angra and recorded the iconic vocals of the song Carry On at 22yo vs the song Fairy Tale (recorded 10 years later) which you reviewed here in this video.

Tobias Sammet from Avantasia once said that Andre Matos had the female voice in the the metal genre that he liked the most. I grew up listening to Andre Matos and he is the reason i fell in love with singing and metal since i was 5 years old. I'm still at lost for words to describe how devasted i am with his passing. His love for his art and our culture is pretty evident in his work. You should check out more of Angra and Shaman.
Same for me, I grew up and learned to sing at 10 with Andre. I'm a woman and he is sometimes higher than me but all I know is thanks to him.

I think that André is happy (wherever he is) with the fact that his music can still make people feel joy. Fairy Tale is, hands down, one of the most powerful and beautiful songs I've heard in my life. It just takes my breath away whenever I listen to it.
With that said, we couldn't expect from him anything less than greatness. He was an absolute talented man. But he was also a maestro, a trained opera singer, and also, he had played the piano since he was 7 years old. I mean??? He was incredible.
It saddens me to think he left this world so young. But his legacy remains. And as the song says: "he turned into sparks that shine with the stars".

Well, Andre had degrees in classical piano, musical coposition, opera trained (singing), and was an actual orchestra conductor - How many people in metal can conduct an orchestra???
He was also a very kind and humble guy who lived with his 99yo grandpa because he wanted to take care of him :(
Why did he have a heart attack? From what I saw on Wikipedia he only died just over a week ago.
@@Rosannasfriend No ideia, it just happened. He showed no sign whatsoever he had any heart disease... he used to work by night and sleep by day but i don't think that would be the reason, though. He was also vegetarian... i guess it just happened.
André was overweight by the time of his death and had been in that condition during at least 2 ou 3 years before the heart attack that took his life.
He was also known as someone who used to sleep during the day and work through the night while maintaining unhealthy food habits.
He wasn't a heavy drinker or drug user (as long as a public subject).
Those things aren't good to keep people healthy. Maybe the heart condition grew without any notice from him and it just happened.
His last concert took place a week before his death. Although he looked tired and suffered a bit to hit the high notes (which is completly normal for an aging guy past his vocal prime) nobody thought he'd be dead a few days later.
He was undoubtedly a god!!! R.I.P André. We'll carry on.
I can't help but crying every time I see this. He was a genius, both singing and composing. He is so missed! An year has been since he passed and it still feels awkward; there's a hole without him. Thank you, Beth, for listening to him in this so respectful way.

André Matos died of a heart attack in São Paulo, Brazil, in 2019. A significant loss for music and especially for people who loved him as a person and musician.

"Carry On" is the first song that got me in to this type of music and will always have a place for me. You should take a look at his high notes there. Also the lyrics are amazing. As you said, his music gives you the feels and that is what its all about.
This guy was the world's best vocal 4sure. RIP André, still living through his music and in our hearts.
André Matos always will be the greatest metal singer from South America, no doubts... Im brazilian and Watched a Lot of Angra and Shaman shows, and of course Matos is legend, the world Will miss his Voice and music. RIP Maestro!

Andre said the following words once, and they have a lot of meaning now:
"If I had to leave this world soon, I'd be happy and I'd really like to thank for the opportunity we've had until today, because we can share a lot of things with a lot of people and that's real art, I think maybe it's one of the only things that are worthwhile in this life".
