"The Night Does Not Belong To God" still derserves a listen, arguably my favorite Sleep Token song. Dig the reactions as always, appreciate the open mindness.
Sean, if you ever react to that song, if you're not aware of Sundowning syndrome, maybe reading about it would make the reaction richer. It certainly can be taken in a total different special way if your parents are old enough, or know about someone else dealing with it.

i think now we all expect songs to "drop". be it heavy or some kinda hook. what i love about this song is its so chill. yet it builds. like waves of euphoria. then the bass kicks in. rising. then...nothing. its sinks back to the piano line. not every song has to have a drop to feel complete. its more about the journey than the destination i guess in metaphorical terms. i've listened to this song so many times and its just so beautiful that it doesnt need a drop and isnt scared to just ride on its emotion its creating. great reaction imo.
Check out "The Way That You Were" next. It was a weirder single that came out of nowhere. It's a sleep token song that is lead by an organ which is so different.

Some might say this is one of the simplest and most boring ST songs, but for me it is one of their prettiest...
And yes it is a good song to listen to at night before sleeping, it has a very calming sound

I really think that there wil come the day when the puzzle of the story behind ST songs will be completed (I'm sure it wouldn't be done for themselves), so that we can all understand why they can't be expected to do metal music all the time but still they need to use some of metal music resources and why we sometimes found the lyrics a little bit odd and like it couldn't make sense. I must admit that I only looked for the "harder drops" in ST songs, but thanks to your reaction of Jaws I started to dig on their intentions and realize (mostly based on fans discussions in reddit ST threads), and since then it's like wow, a new whole perspective, it's not like a concept album but a concept band, all towards the Sleep deidity (whose original name is unpronounceable) and a woman and a third part? angels?. I don't know if they intent to picture that story this way, or in the end it's a metaphor for a good/evil love/hate thing, or it's all in the head of a schizophrenic person, I don't know but I'm pretty anxious to hear the third part of this story and know if there will be a closure, will they ever change this topic in his music or what?
Even so, the most beautifull thing in any art expresion is the freedom of interpretetion because of the own receptor experiences in life and how the two things fit together. So it's impossible to vibe with absolutely all songs of a certain band, or any movie, play, painting, photo, etc of a certain artist, and yet if you are in the right mood, songs you dislike or simply not enjoy that much could start growing on you.
Hopefully we get a new album next year. And remember, THEY'RE NOT METAL.
