Obviously before their time. Endorsed by the greats. They've always inhabited their own universe (or multiverse). It's right to give those 'boys in the Beatle boots' due credit as an influence, as so many others have also done, but Stackridge rose above that long ago and produced a consistently superior body of work. Intelligent lyrics, diversity, eccentricity, melody, originality, polish, wit, humour, technical expertise, longevity (with creative evolution, not decay), oh, I could go on...
Yep was there at the Boom Boom club Sutton to see the great Stackridge.
Just wonderful! The Man in the Bowler Hat is one of my top 10 albums of all time! Keep on Clucking!
It was 1973 when Stackridge worked with George Martin (on 'The Man In The Bowler Hat'), not 1999. Nevertheless, great to hear from James and Andy.
Two of the greatest song writers that the U.K. has ever produced.
I didn't think James would sound so posh. Thanks for uploading.
Bath !!

+1 to that last comment! Great to see this! :-)
'Moles' eternal? It wasn't there last time I looked. Can't say I miss it though. There's always the Jane Austen Museum!
the art of songcraft!
