The problem with that section of garden hose is it's not rated for continuous pressure like the braided supply line was. It will slowly expand and get bigger until it pops probably while they're on vacation so they'll come home to quite a mess

Plumbers please stop using silicone on painted surfaces. If the customer happens to change the paint color. The silicone has to be removed because paint doesn't adhere to it.

They Just forgot to winterize, re do the same thing but probably easier with a garden hose to remove and drain the water. The previous metal hose you'll need tools if that sucker was on tight
