The moustache is a separate entity. It detaches itself at night and gets into car chases and gang fights and shit. It has smashed a beer bottle against a bar and stabbed a seemingly superior opponent in the throat, thus gaining victory. It has seen starships on fire at the shoulder of Orion. And in the morning it glides back onto the face of its host, wiping cheez wiz off the chin and dropping a few dead hairs into his open mouth. Anyway, I don't know how dangerous a female moustache is. Very strong, I suspect.

The sad thing about this is both techniques were equally effective, but Ken was joking.
The even sadder thing is that Ken's joke technique had better principles of positioning and atemi than that Krav Maga crap.

@@AzraelCaptain The technique she showed has pretty much been phased out in terms of teaching and is only really used for intro students to get them accustomed to the style and the way she showed it isn't how it's normally taught. However, the technique the woman showed has kind of been phased out of the KM curriculum in lieu of using the single handed pluck or the rotational defense normally reserved for a choke with a push. The reason being that if someone is going to choke you from the front, first off you can see it coming so you can deflect the on coming attack with a kick, a punch, a side step so that is the first thing that is taught, prevention. But if the attacker does get their hands around your throat it more than likely not going to be static, they are either going to push you or shake you kind of like Homer Simpson does so the rotational defense takes into account the natural reaction of taking a step backwards and building on that.
Firstly, awesome of her to just take the jokes and have fun all around. Awesome.
Secondly, I know it’s a demonstration, but that armlock she showed, not gonna happen. 😟
I'm sure she knows her stuff. But that's just teaching people false confidence and how to get hurt.

Go ahead and say that to Yaron Lichtenstein or any Bukan Black Belt in the world. It's pretty much the only Martial Art I know that getting to Black Belt actually comes with a lot of sweat, AND blood.

I trained in krav directly from one of the founder's students and I can 100% say that yes, civilian krav is FULL of bull. But that technique right there was wrong in so many layers that it managed to make master ken's defense look unironically more realistic lol

I'm not even a martial artist any more, and I've never trained in Krav Maga, and even I was confused by that.

2:02 even if you're the same size/strength as your opponent, this is almost impossible to do. Also how is she able to just stand there, wouldn't a bigger, stronger opponent move her around, maybe even push her to the ground?
Yes, you are absolutely correct.
Also, a "choke hold" like that is really ineffective as well but if you are up against a wall it can be a very stressful moment. If the attacker is stronger than her, she cannot get away like that. I think they haven't pressure tested that particular defense. On the other hand, maybe that was intentional, since it is a Master Ken episode :)

Ok, I've trained in Ju-jutsu, the "Superman technique" for breaking a double-handed front choke is basically inserting both your hands in between the attackers arms and then raising them together in an inverse V-shape, sort of like the Superman "up up and away"-pose. It's a bit bullshit, but unless the attacker's VASTLY stronger than you, it will tear away the hands from your throat.
What she's doing is just stupid. A woman grabbing my hands/wrists and trying to twist them away from her throat will fail, unless she's stronger than me. And that's just disregarding the tackle-takedown her proposed maneuver invites even an untrained attacker to counter with.
And how would she bring the head of a resisting attacker down? That would only work on an unresisting or out of balance target, and she has yet to unbalance him. If he hadn't twisted his arm to allow the lock, it wouldn't have worked. Maybe going for a standing Americana lock after a step back to pull the attack out of balance?
If both your opponents hands are around your throat, they are not defending his eyes. Combines well with a superman.
@@kristianfagerstrom7011 From experience, that doesn't work. Seriously, the last person I was choking like that tried it. Close the eyes tight, turn the head, problem solved. I had scratches all down my cheeks, which the police used for evidence when they got there, but all in all, pretty minor damage, and I didn't release the choke. And that was on a man.
It's not nearly as easy to attack eyes and groins as most people think.

Don't mean to hate but wouldn't it make more sense to just jab your attacker's eyes if he has both hands on your throat.. I mean his face is right there and both your hands are free and within reach. Her technique also doesn't take into account momentum.. your attacker is gonna be pushing you and throw you off balance when he grabs your throat so you don't have that much time to react before you start gasping for air.
I went to a dojo where the instructor exactly taught us that choke thingy. I was like, so what if the guy who's choking me is stronger than me, like this guy here, I can't get his hands off me. He said "figure it out" I left the dojo right there.
