Taribo was a great defender. Not everyone gets to play for both sides in Milan. Someone told me long time ago that even in training, Ronaldo always made sure Taribo was on his side. Probably to avoid the tackles😁
One of his team mates once said that after training, instead of joining the team bus, Taribo west would run after the bus to the hotel. At the hotel, you would see him running up and down the stairs for extra fitness. That's who he was.
Two players that i really like, mehn Taribo was a beast as a defender, this was a young skill-filled Henry and Taribo really made his game very difficult. Nice one to two great legends.
A fun anecdote by Guy Roux, former coach of Auxerre now retired : Roux would always assign Taribo west to mark the best player of the opposite team, which was an absolute nightmare for all creative players in ligue 1 at the time, and thus, when roux discussed with Rai, former PSG's playmaker, the latter said that if he wasn't being a proffesional he would pretend to be sick everytime they had to face Auxerre, just so he doesn't have to face Taribo. And when Thierry is saying that he would follow people everywhere, he isn't exagerating, once the player he was supposed to mark was subbed off, taribo was thus immediatly subbed off as a tactical adjustment, and, still according to guy roux, taribo still followed him to his bench and sat next to him for a few minutes. That's dedication (or sadism, pick one.)
Back when it was man versus man...i miss the old, physical fighting type of football. Today everyone plays like Van Gaals Ajax or Peps Barca. Its all the same playing style ...
I doubt very much prime Henry would have had as much trouble as a young Henry did against West. Tbf West had a superb game and did the right thing not letting Theirry get into his stride, cos if he did he was in serious trouble as we saw once in this video. I'm surprised to learn Henry didn't say his toughest opponent was Ledley King. Henry has always been full of praise for King. He was strong, fast and read the game superbly.
Henry said King was the only defender who could tackle him consistently without fouling him. Due to King's condition, he could only observe training and maintain his fitness (like swimming). The fact he could remain a professional at all is remarkable - never mind being competitive at the highest level.
It's true. This guy taribo got theirry in his pocket. Unless its fast 1 2 or titi speeding up open space . He didnt't get past him ..he even made titi to goes deep center man's monster. Absolute marking
To be fair henry had some good runs and won free kicks from him in advanced positions. It’s only a quiet match by his standards. Impressive from west though

When Ronaldo get injured Taribo went every day to his home to pray on his leg. Little curiosity ☺️
Why doesn't he get recognised more nowadays? I haven't watched his performances but people here are saying he is very good
@@sexpistoln_5961 I heard he later became a pastor
@@R9naldo not everyone will be recognized much
IS RONALDO THAT BROUGHT TARIBO WEST TO INTER MILAN
Thats some rare footage.. great job

Holy shit 💀 😂😆
Le fameux échange entre Guy Roux et Thierry Henry sur Prime ! 😂Elle était excellente celle-là.
Love your work man, keep posting!🖤
I visited here to confirm what Thierry Henry said about his toughest opponent.
Same!

Loved watching him play for my club derby. He was a monster and crucial to our premier League survival that season
He was an old man then, near retirement
Tarobo west made French league 1 seasons more memorable for Thierry Henry.. LoL 😁.
He follows him everywhere from the dressing room to the pitch LoL 😁
It's called Pocketing in today's games. 💯
One of the greatest defender in history of world football 😂😂🇳🇬🇳🇬💪💪
He will follow you everywhere even to the dressing room 😂😂😂😂😂 that’s so iconic
taribo follow him even without ball in henry's leg
That's man marking

Ledley King isn’t in the conversation for top underrated defenders in football history. West is.

The fact he could remain a professional at all is remarkable - never mind being competitive at the highest level.
Taribo played in both Milan teams when Serie A had all the stars, and played at 3 world cups. Ledley couldn’t lace his boots.
R u seripua put ledley same sentence with taribo...its like put trent on par with gary neville in RB 😂
@@Vongreimbf109 No competition. Gary was more consistent than Trent and was better in defense.
lol 😂 taribo wes
defence 90
balance 95
stamina 86
Me trying to get Henrys autograph outside of Highbury stadium circa 2005
Park Ji Sung vs Andrea Pirlo?
Never heard of it!

This is what is called in France : "marquage à la culotte" 😂
Nice work. I was trying to get his Monaco kit, but failed))
Do u have Barcelona highlights of Henry from 07-08?)
Monaco kits were so nice in the 90s.
I don't have any barca highlights bro I prefer Henry's playstyle pre 2007. But maybe I should find some
Defenders don't man mark anymore. Miss old fashioned defenders
They had to sub him off, so he can 'breeathf'😤
inter legend

La belle époque toutes ça maintenant mon AJA ligue2 pour mieux rebondir 🦾🙏🏻
Taribo 'remora' West
Guessing this is why Thierry changed his number from 12 to 14😉
😂😂😂
Taribo was the best
Henry looks more like wiz khalifa
Wiz Khalifa looks more like Henry
WEST 🤕
Taribo West completely took him out of the game
Indeed. Its weird I made this last week and thought how amazing West looked and a week later henry commented on this obscure match
@@souster98 wow. You never know who might be watching you
His physique was so good I wonder if he really faked his age or not…
West acabou com George weah
Terrible at best, Taribo West
