question on intake grate.. SJRN.. how low below the base of the ski can an intake grate be?.. or is this something even looked at? we have a small half inch ish tab tac welded onto the intake and it helps shovel a little more water into the pump... was told it doesnt matter but would like to know as Im considering one last season of racing.

Thats not a big deal, one of the worx aftermarket grates is made that way and typically intake grates and mods to them are allowed in all classes. However most grates are not that aggressive since a overly aggressive grate can slow you down on top speed
