There are 5 stages to accident care:
1. Preventive Measures: To prevent accidents from happening. One must follow safe driving for this - wear a helmet, speed control, obey traffic rules, and maintain a good road.
2. Public Awareness: The public must know how to handle when an accident happens. Many of the injuries the patients face are due to improper manhandling.
3. Transportation Care: Ambulance care + public care can be seen here
4. Hospital Care: Many of the hospitals have developed and consist of a trauma care unit.
5. Rehabilitative Phase: After the surgery or treatment undergone by the patient, they have to rest and rehabilitate to restore their health. This is done via physiotherapy, neurorehabilitation, therapy, etc.
In Trauma Care these 5 phases are very important and one must see to it that these phases must be are not ignored, as we can avoid the patient facing complications and even death.
