I personally want to try building this as some sort of enchantment deck just cause blue and red have some really interesting enchantments, but there's not a lot of actual support for an enchantment deck in those colors as far as I can find.
Interesting. I know Flux channeler proliferates on "non-creature" but it's hard to find the classic enchantress fuel. Cheap enchantments that serve as other utility, and/or draw. Enchantments that hold counters?
@@CommandersBrew counter based enchantments definitely could be an interesting way to go. And yeah, lacking the classic enchantress package definitely makes a lot more difficult to fuel up and stuff, but blue does have reconnaissance mission and bident of thassa, so dropping those for 4 mana to make four tokens and swing in to draw some cards is a strat. Cavalcade of calamity, Fiery Emancipation, and other red damage multipliers to finish out games. I feels like it has potential but I'm gonna have to really throw my brewing hat on for it.
Definitely an interesting concept. It wouldn't be the most powerful deck, but it would give you a lot of staying power. I'd be tempted to swap commanders just to get green or white. You should post a deck profile if the comments section let's you.
This is exactly why I clicked on this video. Hoping to find inspiration for an enchantment deck with Ovika. My main goal is to benefit from auras that care about a high creature count, give protection, or draw cards. Other redundant enchantment effects such as Shared Animosity, Impact Tremors, and Vesuvan Duplimancy are in the deck. I'm looking to fill out the deck with efficient enchantments that draw cards and/or have {X} in the cost.
I put ovika in my neera chaos deck. ovika is so fun with top deck manipulation, and ina neera deck, where your casting a one mana spell like opt, using neera to flip off a wand of wonder, portal to phyrexia, ancient copper dragon etc
I really wonder why this wasn't Jeskai with the 'whenever you cast a noncreature spell' clause. Could do artifacts easily enough. Izzet has TONS of support for that, and it would be a fair bit more durable than spellslinger.
I'm brewing Ovika right now. But already have a Vadrick X spells and a Magnus tokens. Was having trouble deciding where to go with Ovika that didn't feel like redoing the deck. I want to try what you suggest and mash all the value into a single deck Also subbed, I like how you presented and visualized your ideas. Keep up the great work!
I was at a similar spot, with those two commanders, but taking a break from spellslinger lately. I had an Izzet spellslinger core package, one spell heavy (Vadrik), the other permanent heavy (Veyran). I Can alternate in between, and by adding colors, (Green=Kalamax, Black=Anhelo, White=Kykar). Vadrik can also be turned into Mizzix really easily, while Veyran can be turned into Magnus or Ovika pretty easily. Again, though, I have been taking a break from spellslinger lately.
see my ovikas deck main goal is to play overtop, you can easily get to reveal 40 cards off the top and get every permanent from them, then pop off from there.
Ovika is a very interesting commander. If my research is correct It is the only legendary Izzet commander who cares about "noncreature spells". There are a few Izzet commanders who care about just spells or nonland permanents so Wizards making Ovika have "noncreature spells" is a novelty.
Sean in the thumbnail you look like you have a bunch of marbles in your mouth but you're trying to keep it a secret. Great video as always! I know the commander is just a piece of the engine but 7 mana commanders are always tricky to build for.
20 mana rocks, 6 “finisher” cards, then a bunch of draw spells, counter spells, protection spells, and removal spells = my favourite deck ever

Ran into this video by hapenstance, but I like your style. I was also building an Ovika that I got from the prerelease
Awesome. Let me know what direction you take it.
Just pulled the showcase of it and I think I have to play this sucker
We got an early video today! Yay!
Give people a chance to watch it over a lunch!

Ooh, that sounds amazing!
Spellsling goblins has a ring to it.
Tough to pull that title from Mizzix!
@@CommandersBrew We can brew some wizard creature synergy here with all those token goblins.

Thanks for the sub! I think that's a fine plan. If you overlap a lot, it should work.

What's overtop? - not much what's over with you?
@@CommandersBrew over the top* misspelled it lol. Really good sorcery if you make a ton of permanents.

Cant Seem to find your new videoes on Spotify. Did you stop Spotify all together or just move to a new title?

It's a pizza pop. Really hot!
Re: commanders, I think there's enough overlap that were sort of building for all of them. That's the theory anyway.
Storm enchantments
Audiomixing bro.
Music down, Voice up.
Thanks for the tip!

Well done!
