I just bought this trimmer for $119 with 18v 4ah battery and charger. I went crazy and trimmed everywhere in my yard. It was very impressive. I was happily surprised it had a heavy blade attachment for heavy cutting with two extra replacement blades. The beauty is that the battery will fit into the 16 gauge nail gun I bought.. git everything for $277 what a deal.

Hey I have the same one! Totally agree about being underpowered. I upgraded from a corded electric. It’s so nice to grab and go! Love the Ryobi 18 volt lineup!

I LOVE mine. Just switched from a different brand’s 18v and it is so insanely powerful by comparison.

Thanks! Still happy with mine! So convenient to just grab and go. I trim much more now.

ok so I call Ryobi and the lady I spoke to was awesome. Great attitude and actually listened to me. Not sure but I think her name was Sara who was knowledgeable and solved my issue quickly
This call made me happy I purchased Ryobi!!!

For anyone having issues releasing the edger, I learned the hard way that it has to be running! The manual does not tell you this.

I have the same thing and had to bring it back twice because the line jams around the motor axial under the spool holder (cup) not sure what to call it. So the line feeds out too much and wraps itself underneath the cup.

Sometimes my line welds itself to the spool and stops feeding. Sounds like you have a different issue. No ideas, sorry Pete!

@@onFIREouttakes I replaced it and the second one did the same thing. I ended up getting a completely different brand.

Anyone looking at this thinking its under powered look at the 18v ryobi expand-it trimmer, alot more powerful but you only get 15 minutes on a 4ah battery.
It whips thick guinea grass patches out and my bee's don't harass me because its electric.

Do they sometimes come with a “double string” ?

How do you replace a carbon brush of string trimmer edger 18V ryobi hybrid??

What grade string does this use? Is it specific or can you use regular (red/green) string?

I think it can use .065 and .080 trimmer line. It comes with a small green spool of the .065 and I bought a 3 pack of them to be able to do quick changes. I haven't re-strung it myself but I've been saving the empty spools and will try that next. I hope that helps!

Use the .080 or you will be changing spools alot because of breaking.

Turn around and trim your grass between the rose beds by walking forward normally instead of leading with the blade guard cutting grass. It will go much faster.

sometimes my trimmer quits working after 10 to 15 minutes with a fully charged battery - does anyone have any idea why this happens?

    • @onFIREouttakes
      @onFIREouttakes  3 года назад

Is it a fresh battery? That’s how mine acts with an old battery that loses charge quickly.

    • @jameswaggoner2646

Does it start to smoke? I had to return my first one after about 4 uses. It would smoke and act like the battery died.
