- Today, we are going to check and test out EZVIZ's WIFi video doorbell, the DB1. A lot of you have asked for me to check this video doorbell out. Also, EZVIZ will have a newer model coming out the DB1C and I am also interested in testing this out.
We will do the unboxing, check out its features, set it up, do the installation and run some tests like video and audio quality, motion detection and doorbell push to notifications times and see if this no monthly contract, micro SD card local storage WiFi video doorbell from EZVIZ is the video doorbell camera that you are waiting for.

Hi there, I'm quite a fan of your review videos. After watching many of your video doorbell videos. I was really appreciate the performance you so well demonstrated of the DB1, especially that it allows me to use my existing chime as well as performs well in many categories. After careful review, I'm really interested with the EZVIZ DB1C (newer model). I also noticed that the App features are greatly improved since you filmed this original video. I live in Montreal Canada, do you think that this would be a solid choice in my colder climate in winter? Also, what other similar specked doorbells would you recommend as an alternative? Thanks in advance.

You haven't reviewed the newer EZVIZ DB2 2K doorbell yet. It appears the required 4 metre proximity of the chime to the doorbell may be limited in some larger households, also the ring notification via the app which rings the phone rather than send a notification like on other doorbells is a slower way to go about it.
Thank you for nice video review. BTW, I have a question about this Ezviz DB1 doorbell camera. When someone press the door bell, the Amazon Echo 5 will AUTOMATIC TURN ON LIVE VIEW feature? Or we have to manual tell the Amazon Echo 5 to show live view feature?

I have this door bell for almost 2 years now and it never worked properly. My mechanical door bell keep getting disconnected. At some point, the entire camera goes offline. I am running firmware V5.2.4 build 230404. Anybody else has this issue?

Many Thanks for your review. I just bought one after watching your video. Installation is quite straight forward. It is now up and running with my mobile phone. One of the reasons I bought this camera is it being RTSP compatible. I wonder if you know how we can connect it to NVRs like Blue Iris. Many Thanks.

Can you tell which is better overall: eufy doorbell Vs ezviz doorbell. They have both local storage.
ezviz is best if u dont mind only 1080p. ezviz allows for onvif support after flashing with laview firmware, thus u can setup storage on your own cloud. Internal storage you lose if your doorbell ever gets stolen.
I don't have that extra step to answer, the first step is not on Android. I appreciate the 5 Gh wifi, not seen it on any other dorbell. Looking forward to see DB1S. Thanks for the good review!

Did you ever get your hands on the new DB1C? I just upgraded my wifi setup and my RemoBell S is giving me trouble because it only does 2.4ghz wifi. This ezviz looks exactly the same, even what you got in the box was exactly the same as the RemoBell S crazy.
I’m returning my Remobell because it’s not compatible with duel band WiFi 2.4 ghz -5ghz. I’ve tryed contacting remos customer service hoping to find a way to connect to my WiFi router, they give you a number to call, but all you get is a recording telling you to go to their website and find the frequently asked questions or fill out a form and they will get back, WTH ? That was a joke! After watching this review, I ll just order this one,
Sorry, I might be a bit slow... but what does the little box in the actual doorbell do? Because the door bell for me doesn’t ring in the inside. Is this box only to stop the ringing inside the house?
Thanks for the review. I've installed the DB1 and work perfect with EZVIZ app, but I can only stream video with Alexa, no notifications when someone ring ! Have've you got the same issue ?
Hello lifehackster im a fan of your work, i always watch your vlog and learned a lot from it,. I just have a question for this doorbell though? Can we use the plug in adaptor of the ring doorbell for it? I dont have any chime i used the plug in chime for my ring doorbell, if ever i want to ourchase this db1 can i use it on my ring plug in chime as well? TIA

Great review! All in all its a great product, i have it myself.
Only thing i miss is some way of getting everything with the google hub going smoother and faster.
Ive had up to 20 sec of waiting time before the stream gets on, or as fast as 6-7 sec.
In a optimal world i would have it at max 2 sec hehe.
Great review. Go slow on the wiring next time so I can do it 😊. Can u do a review on EZVIZ DB2C? It seems like it’s only available in other countries not in USA. Which USA seller has the new db2c for decent price I wonder. I like the fact that a pre record 3 seconds in advance unlike other cameras but it’s not in color under zero light at night.

It would not be a fair comparison, Only new feature on the 2nd Gen Ring is 1080p vs 720p on 1st Gen. This Doorbell (DB) has a 3MP (2048x1536) Res. at 30FPS. You cannot even really compare the Ring Pro to this Res. either. The eufy has the best Res. out there now (2560x1920) but very limited compared to this DB in features. Also this DB has a Fish-Eye Lens so it is hard to compare to other DBs, Res. that is. Feature wise this DB Rocks!!! But this DB is more for Advanced Users/Owners who run their own NVR/NAS/Synology, Blue Iris, etc. setups.
Flash of screen answer is definitely ezviz style camera. Guessing the C3X
Behind the EZVID DB1 is the installation package in the white box (power kit, mini level, wire harness, fuse wire, u connection wire, wire connectors, screws and anchor).
The EZVID DB1 looks a lot like the Hikvision DS-HD1. I will looking at the EZVID or the Hikvision smart doorbell to install at my house.
My door bell stop ringing ( inside the house) I check the transformer power and it’s good 19 VAC the door bell said it works with 16 VAC any idea? Thanks.

you did not mentioned the connectivity speed of your wifi at home as this is dual band . Also , you forgot to show the screen display between the field of view as this has two options settings. Hope you take into account all that matters for user to buy and get to know the actual performance.
I have a ring outdoor camera set up......on the ring app I'm unable to see anything on the thumbnail it just shows the picture of the camera??? It gives me alerts for motion and allows me to see the motion alerts and live view is fine....but I'm unable to see anything on the thumbnail...I already reset the camera and reset my router......any ideas???
So there's only 1 way communication with the doorbell?

I moved into a property with this exact doorbell - does anyone know how the heck I get the black cover off?!?: I need a hex/allen or screwdriver but which size? Can the call feature for Ezviz be taken off so that you just get a notification? I dont like that.
Either one works..the call feature is how EZVIZ DB1 does their 2 way talk..

when using the google hub and echo show to stream the live feed. how much 'delay' is it ? prolly like 5secs behind real time right? also does the live feed cut off after a few minutes like the blink cams or it goes on forever on the screens? thx

I kinda want this one now 😭. There's so many options, which is a good thing lol, but I just want to get the best one currently. I got ring pro on prime day, haven't installed yet, but all the reviews shows it's audio is poor. Ugh. Well the important thing is video aha. I wish it was better quality
live feed(small fisheye portrait mode and NOT fullscreen landscape like pc app) is like 8secs behind on the google nest 8in hub..on the echo show5 its less but it shows it in FULLscreen landscape mode which is nice

Just put te power kit filter parallel to the transformer side. Much more space than inside the gong.

Has anyone successfully wired up two of these to one mechanical chime that has 3 terminals? One would be for the front door and one for the rear door. The terminals would be Rear, Transformer, Front. The instructions don't cover this and one review on Amazon said it worked at first but the chime stopped working after 2 days.

I just removed this doorbell cam.. it just keeps dropping wifi even though I have a strong signal. Running multiple Unifi access points and it still drops 4-5 times a night. Their customer support is not too good either, basically their hardware is perfect and your WiFi must be the issue lol.

@@LifeHacksterthe ezviz db1 its the original, and they rebrand it to nelly security and rca and laview and later to hikvision witch is the owner of ezviz, i have the laview version and they conected for some time to the ezviz servers, its a preatty good doorbell
Is Nelly Security the only one that is onvif compliant in regards to this doorbell type? I heard Laview Halo is onvif compliant as well, I want to link this up a reolink NVR any advice would be great.
