MYGOD i feel like it was because its like internalized hatred. this manifests in a way that his dad used to be a soldier and hypothetically, he knows what happens to one’s wellbeing and the after-effects of when you go to war. this made pat somewhat resentful of jay because he chose the life that his dad did, and knowing the consequences, pat did not want this for jay but deep inside, he knows he cannot change jay and that he feels proud of jay for doing what he loves despite the trauma he will deal with later in life. this is why he showed up to jay’s special day but acted indifferent about it because he still wished that he chose a different life. i hope it made sense but there are just my thoughts and rant teehee

@@LuvNickynGina4ever Will got closure after his dad Pat’s heart surgery. While he didn’t say anything, his dad patted him on the cheek with a remorseful yet proud look on his face.

After their dad returned to the hospital after being caught in a building fire, Pat & Jay argued again bitterly but then Pat went downhill & became brain dead. Jay didn’t want to let him go with his last words to his dad having been an argument, but eventually he did.
Now he sees that Pat kept all records of Jay’s PD accomplishments in his house & really was proud of who he’d become, just as he’d been with Will.
He’d always been proud of his sons ;_;

OK so I have a theory, after this episode is when Hailey and Adam started having their “relationship”. You can see in this episode how much Hailey truly cared for Jay, and she hated seeing him hurt. So my theory is that the only reason she started sleeping with Adam was to try to push away her feelings for Jay, because she didn’t want to admit her feelings to herself. And the only reason why Adam went along with it was because he knew that his relationship with Kim wasn’t going anywhere. 🤷♀️

What I liked about the beginning..... not just Hailey realising she might have feelings for Jay but in the background as she’s walking away, he’s watching her meet up with Adam.... just watching her
I liked this ending, mainly because it shows Jay vulnerable and so shaken by the revelation his dad actually was proud of him being a cop.

How could you see jays eyes? 😂 everything’s all blurry, after everything that has happened I’m sure Jay is just starring off into the distance just lost in his emotions. He’s not starring at Hailey, he’s not thinking about her, he’s thinking about his dad, all the fights they’ve had any and all memories he has up there.

Part of the reason is because jay is the older one and usually the older one doesn’t show the emotions even if they are sad or angry I know this because I am the older one so I know how jay feels

Oh, he realized that his father cared about him all this time even though they had a strained relationship, his dad was always unsupportive of Jay and his career. But finding that pic of him showed that his dad cared, and Jay got emotional that his dad died with them not on good terms

Jay thought that his father never showed up to his graduation because he didn't support his decision to become a police officer. The photo jay cried over was a picture his dad took while he watched him graduate and jay didn't know he was there. He realised how much his father cared about him , more than jay ever realised. His father died aswel
