This is the problem with this sort of broad sanitized corporate shill channels.
I remember when I watched the first season I felt that a lot of the things michael would do wound up being super cringy and borderline inappropriate. I felt once the second season started that the show really found it’s swing. He was suddenly funny and not at all on the same level of a creep he was in the first season. You said it perfectly when you said he needed to be pathetic rather than an asshole. And then we all fell in love with this new pathetic man.
Yeah, honestly, there are some jokes that are funny, not because of the jokes, but because he's just plain STUPID for telling them. Then there are other that are actually great....like that's what she said....it's about a balance between stupid idiot, and funny but underappreciated (because its inappropriate for work)
Agreed. I didn't appreciate season 1 untill they were on season 5-6. After watching these videos on the show it is all making sense as to why. I for one appreciate the difficulty it would have took to make this. The UK version was already a thing so turning that into something American wasn't easy I'm guessing. The description for Michael is also ALOT and very specific, I'm sure Steve did the best he could in season 1 & he found the perfect mixture to make the roles as infamous as it is today. Requests: (1) I would like to hear more about the character of Jan Levinson, played brilliantly by Melora Hardin. This is by far the most complex character in the show and the episode "Dinner Party" is by far my favorite episode. To most of the others, Jan was a total b**ch, but I really liked her anyway. Melora did such a great job walking a tightrope throughout that series. (2) Please go into more detail about the character of Ryan Howard, played by B.J. Novak. Another great performance by an underrated actor. The actor had to walk a fine line. Ryan was both sympathetic and absolutely hateful, especially in the way he treated the character of Kelly. (3) PLEASE talk more about Creed Bratton! What a gem! I've never met a person like Creed, but if I ever do I would love to hang out with him all afternoon. Thanks!!
The executives hated it because they were the Michael Scotts. The interns loved it because they were the Jim's and Pam's.
The ceo should have fired them all after they offered such terrible opinions. Most tv is pure trash, but the office has subtle, nuanced humor that only people who aren't in love with the smell of thier own farts can appreciate. Plus it's not overwhelmed with sex scenes....
Shame this has so few views. Great job!

So the first story has Krasinski living in West Hollywood, hanging with a "friend" and just "playing games", then he becomes the only person to invite the male script jockey in to "hang out" with them. Now I have some serious questions for Emily Blunt.

I have problem seeing him as anything other then jim. Hes a good actor. I just see jim in everything he does! Lol he was really good in 13 hrs. But again, it was jim halpert the cia agent in Benghazi lol.
Nothing beats the original. Unfortunately Americans don't have the attention span or intelligence for a show with that level of genius.

I'm daily on 9gag and there were a lot of memes coming from The Office. I was so enthusiastic of watching it. The first season...omg such a disappointment, I love Steve but I couldn't stand Michael. I dragged the first season...it was painful haha, but then the second season, wow! It blossomed!

I should say I love both (the original is obviously my favourite due to being British and it’s was soo spot on what it was like at the time) but work I’m there own ways.
The British one is much harsher and sarcastic which doesn’t always play out well with American audiences, it took a the uk a few episodes to get it properly.

Nope. Four years between the first 50 Office video and this one and the narrator, Ryan, still doesn't sound like his testicles have dropped. Maybe another five years will help.
He also has absolutely no idea what he's talking about. To call Brent a terrible human being and an ass hole proves that he hasn't even seen the original and best The office.

Also, most of these weren't facts about the show.
I loved first version of Michael better. It was so tough to watch but you could not stop. That's exactly what made the show stand out. After that he became just a whiny baby. Apparently, it's more relatable for US viewers.
How is John K inviting the guy in to play video games a fact about The Office.
Your description of David Brent's character proves that you have absolutely no idea what it is that you're talking about. He was not a terrible human being in any way. Americans, they need every joke to be extremely obvious or explained to them like a 5 year old.

This is not the office. It's not based in Slough, where most of the US Hollywood blockbusters are filmed. It's also a really shitty depressing town. The Queen lives there too, in Windsor Castle.
