I really you wish you had permission from Nickelodeon to use pictures and videos of Spongebob. I seriously love your rants on Spongebob, but being able to add pictures/videos would make the experience even better then it already is.
Nathaniel Bandy Too bad Viacom is a copyright Nazi. After all they tried to take down Mr. Enter's RUclips Account.
+Super Gamer61499 wow. I knew They took down videos but to try to take down his entire account? That's really low...
That’s why I love MysteriousMrEnter
If you take down enough of a creator's videos, RUclips shuts down the user's account until and unless you successfully appeal the takedowns.
Be careful what you wish for, Nathaniel. You might get it.
The title of the episode explained it all.
Agreed
OMG I LOVE YOU SO MUCH
Oh the pun
Someone in the writing staff must have done this to spite the others.
I wish they’re is a book novel called "the strange case of modern spongebob" cause season 5-9 of spongebob is terrible and it’s certainly a very strange case indeed!
*Meanwhile in Bikini Bottom, Spongebob saves someone from near death*
Citizen: Oh, gee thanks. Like I needed to be saved...idiot boy.
SarahandAshley Honestly that wouldn't surprise me.
The Incredibles did it better
"Dying is better than being saved by you!!"
Spongebob: hey! I saved you’re life!!!!!!
Random fish: you didn’t save my life you ruined my death! That’s what you did!!!!!!
Spongebob: listen you son of a......
Spongebob’s lawyer: my client has no comment at this time.
I thought it would've been clever of the writers to have Spongebob fake the amnesia to his friends and come up with an alias for whatever town he decides to try and prove he can make it on his own without screwing up. This could've shown how strong, independent and a possible window to how grown up Spongebob can be if he tried. It could also stick it to his friends for treating him so bad over minor accidents and they realize how much Spongebob means to them.
That's actually a really good idea. I think you may have some talent in fixing other people's ideas, like Pieguy said he did!
The modern writers aren't smart enough to think of something like that. It's an amazing idea and if you look at some previous episodes it'd be too good
I outright HATE the mean spirited tone the writers of this episode went with, so maybe if they stuck with the plot you suggested, it would have been a little better than what we ended up getting
And it'll make it far better!
this could have worked mutch better
Did the writers come up with that name as a self-aware joke about the show going downhill?
That face still disgusts me beyond all belief. It's especially bad as it comes right out of nowhere.
I think only Steven Banks (who also worked on CatDog and Jimmy Neutron) is aware of the show going downhill. So that explains why he left after Season 8.
This rant and the title raise a great question: Whatever Happened to SpongeBob?
I actually thought that that was the topic of the rant: why did Spongebob go downhill?
He was killed and replaced by a demonspawn. That's what happens at Flanderisations.
I'm more curious about Robot Jones's whereabouts.
Please elaborate, sir. Who is Robot Jones, and how did this happen?
+Kiara Charles same
Whatever Happened to Spongebob feels like it was forced. The writing was just rushed throughout the door, Spongebob's friends being mean to him was just forced just for the sake of being force (Patrick should have been the last character to yell at him instead of Mr. Krab), and Squidward is just well mean in this episode. I don't find Spongebob's close up to be as worst as people claiming it to be. The close up is just... Well gross and stupid.
Of course spongebob's friends are jerks to spongebob in whatever happened to spongebob episode from spongebob squarepants.
Well the fact is that the gross close up of spongebob used in the episode is used for a ytp character called slendybob
Here’s my version of WhoBob WhatPants? -
While on his way to work one morning, SpongeBob gets hit in the head with a rock and gets knocked unconscious. He is found by Plankton who was running an errand and he takes him back to the Chum Bucket to tend him. When SpongeBob wakes up, Plankton asks him what happened, and SpongeBob tells him he can’t remember anything. But then SpongeBob says he remembers how to make Krabby Patties. After hearing this, Plankton decides to take advantage of SpongeBob’s amnesia by telling him he works at the Chum Bucket, and lies to him that Mr. Krabs has been trying to steal the Krabby Patty formula for years. Karen tries to warn Plankton that what he’s doing is wrong, but Plankton doesn’t listen to her.
Meanwhile at The Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs is wondering where SpongeBob is, and Squidward tells him that he saw him at the Chum Bucket. So Krabs goes over there to get SpongeBob, but he and Plankton get rid of him. Krabs and Squidward decide to turn to Sandy for help, but when SpongeBob and Plankton get rid of them again, they conclude that SpongeBob has lost his memory.
Desperate, they decide to turn to Patrick for help, since he’s SpongeBob’s best friend, and he says he knows just what to do. Patrick and co. go outside the Chum Bucket and he plays the Goofy Goober theme song on a record player. SpongeBob looks out the window when he hears this and Patrick asks if he remembers this, and SpongeBob’s memory instantly returns and he smiles, says “I remember!”, and he and Patrick sing the Goofy Goober theme song. Plankton then comes outside and tells SpongeBob to come back inside, but SpongeBob berates Plankton for taking advantage of him. He and all his friends go into the Krusty Krab and Karen is mad at Plankton for not listening to her.
This version may not be the best, but it’s a whole lot better than the SpongeBob amnesia episode we got.
This episode is useless. His friends are mean to Spongebob. When they try to excuse, Spongebob doesn't remembers.
"And here it comes, WORST expression of the who barking show! How ever made that go hurt yourself for all the children who you gave nightmares please!" -Mrenter
AKA Mr. Overreacting whiny baby
Schnickelo he's not like that. But i have to admit he overreacted about that face in new kelp city though
Schnknlo
It gave me nightmares
The thing with the face is because it's so jarring. That particular still image is creepier than what you usually see on those 'gross up/close ups' so it just leaves you freaking out over something that doesn't last more than a couple of seconds, but can still be in your mind for a long while.
Honestly when I first heard of this episode and I saw that face, it just made me freak out. I think what does it for me was not just the ugly detail, but the intensity of the colors and the contrast. It was really hard to not notice or forget that image. At some point I end up looking away when I watch reviews/count downs with this episode. Although, after some time I look at it again and it was way worse in my head. Now I look at that picture and it's just...I still don't like it, but the panic over it is gone. It just takes time to get over it I guess....time and bravery to really _look_ at that thing.
I know exactly how you feel. I was the same way with the image from the Squidward's Suicide crrepypasta for months. It legitimately scared me, for MONTHS. It still makes me feel uneasy, but I can at least tolerate it now.
MrsIggyKirkland well, same here with the Bootleg Creepypasta from Sponge bob.... but i still can't look at it, without feeling ill or nearly having a panic attack.
~Remembers trying to find the real episode called 'the lost episode' and gets the creepy pasta~ Good thing I saw the real on ~o~
Me too.
I still dont understand how those Gross Up Close Up Shots do anything for Spongebob exept lose viewers, Just gross out episodes in General like The Splinter and Fungus Among Us, just exist to show us the imagery, when, you could have went your whole life without seeing it.
Nickelodeon is clearly to blame for overhyping a lot of these specials and even flat out lying in some cases.
They were the ones that hyped up "Best Day Ever" as, well The Best Day Ever, when really the 100 episode marathon was leading up to the TV premiere of the first movie,
They were the ones that didn't mention that Atlantis SquarePantis was a musical, and the only song I liked in it was "The Bubble Song" at the beginning, the rest were bad.
They were the ones that put the "one of you will not return" line in the trailers for SpongeBob VS The Big One, when everybody, even the characters that debuted in that episode, were all alive and well by the end!
They were the ones that made Truth or Square a thing. Enough said.
They were the ones that marketed The Clash of Triton as an epic battle, when in reality, there was a little bit of property damage and that's about it.
They were the ones that called The Great Patty Caper a "Mystery with a Twistery" and had it be built up as the first
time somebody other than Plankton tried to steal the Krabby Patty formula, even though, halfway through, it's revealed that Plankton was the one that tried to steal the Krabby Patty formula the whole time.
They were the ones who marketed SpongeBob You're Fired! as though SpongeBob would never get his job back, even though nobody on the staff would mix up the status quo for a show like SpongeBob SquarePants.
Many of these problems are because Nick tried to make these SpongeBob specials/ratings traps bigger and more grand than they really were, resorting to pretty terrible marketing gimicks that only made SpongeBob more profitable for them, and as a result, they've become more resistent to letting him go, even though he was doing pretty bad things for the network roughly 3-10 years back.
Ben O'Connor I remember what they did for Alantis Squarepantis. They did a countdown in alphabetical order, but in reverse. So, basically, Z-A.
I sat there as a little kid and endured all of the episodes beccause I really wanted to see the special. And I was SO disappointed. I was too young to pin-point why I didn't like the special, but I knew it wasn't worth hours of Spongebob episodes.
Let's face it, "Cheesehead" would be a better president than Donald Trump.
You're right
After all, he doesn't know what a "mayor" "is".
Connor Mulder A mayor is the town leader, a president is a country leader.
4:44 Even in _Rock Bottom_ where everything was meant to be scary, SpongeBob actually does make a new friend(the angler fish) in that episode.
I think people take the face in this episode too seriously. It's disturbing, no doubt about it, but it could have been a lot worse. It only lasts a few seconds, which is the right way to do a joke like that.
spongebob is terrible now
Agreed.
I can't be the only one here, but I feel the only true terrible seasons SB had were 6 and 7. 8 is very debatable, and 5 I feel has enough positive attributes to balance out the negative attributes. 9 is mostly positive with the audience even with episodes like Little Yellow Book.
Thank you for season 5, I honestly thought that it was one of the better seasons, better than season 4. I actually haven't seen this episode because I couldn't find it online in english, same with pest of the west and goo goo gas. But I've seen everything else and for the most part liked it.
Frosty Knife More power to you. I actually have similar views on this season. I'll give it a B overall.

🖕😡🖕 ALL THOSE SPECIALS I LOVE!!!!
You're right about SpongeBob, he shouldn't do anymore 22 minute episodes. Because hey, they were done weak. The only ones you DO like are
1. Christmas Who?
2. Dunces and Dragons
and
3. Friend or Foe?
And to borrow a quote from Brian Griffin, shouldn't it be an even number? Why is the total an odd number?
It is now 4 because he gave the great patty caper in season 7 good.
Oh good, the total's now an even number.
He also liked Frozen Face-Off, It's a Spongebob Christmas, It Came from Goo Lagoon and Goodbye, Krabby Patty? That means he likes 8 specials now. He might also like The Legend of Boo-kini Bottom, the newest special.
There's also the episode where Spongebob & Squidward went on a musical tour.
He liked Shanghaied though
The plot was really sloppy. It went from SpongeBob feeling like crap and getting driven away, to SpongeBob having amnesia, and then SpongeBob trying to make it in the big city. And here's the thing: all 3 ideas could've worked if they just focused on one of those ideas and ONLY ONE of those ideas. If you wanna make it about SpongeBob getting driven away, fine. Make SpongeBob get driven away, have something like Nature Pants where he just goes into hiding, everybody-- including Squidward-- feel guilty about what they've done, they go out to search for SpongeBob, and then they make amends with him. Throw in a number of good jokes in there, and boom, you've got a good episode along the first idea. If you wanna make an episode about SpongeBob losing his memory, fine. Make one pertaining to that. Have SpongeBob do his daily routine, then get hit in the head with something, 'causing him to have amnesia, and the first person to tend to him is Plankton. Then, have Plankton trick SpongeBob into thinking that he works for the Chum Bucket, and then Mr. Krabs, Patrick, Sandy, Gary, and even Squidward try to get SpongeBob back, and when he gets his memory back, he goes back to the Krusty Krab. There's another good idea. If you wanna make it about SpongeBob making it in the big city, fine. Have SpongeBob realize he's not making it as the fry cook at the Krusty Krab, decides to quit, and he and Gary move to the big city to try to make it big, there. And he ends up having his own fast food restraunt and makes even bigger business than the Krusty Krab. Then maybe make SpongeBob miss his friends, make up w/ Mr. Krabs, and maybe associate their restraunts starting their own franchise. Maybe make it The Spongey Krab! ............. or something else. Either way, that'd be a good way to make that story. But you cannot jumble 3 ideas and just throw it out. It looks like crap.
Jesus....You're...You're right! YOU SHOULD BE A WRITER FOR THE SPONGEBOB SERIES...well the new seasons of course.
Sonic The Hedgehog Honestly, I actually have ideas for some fan fictions of SpongeBob. One of them is a superhero mini-series that is about all of the characters having their own superhero story episode. (Minus Patrick, of course. Patrick already got one, and I don't think it was all that bad.) I also have an idea about making a SpongeBob NASCAR Parody. (And yes, this involves SpongeBob getting his drivers license at long last.)
Btw, I'm a HUGE fan of the Sonic the Hedgehog games. The very first game for the Genesis still holds up for me. I remember I used to play it on my older brother's game system alongside Mortal Kombat, and a couple of MLB games from EA Sports.
nascarfanatic2425 Those are some good spongebob ideas. Oh, and the sega genesis are gems.
Very good, VERY good.
Thunder Dancer Thanks a lot.
The Face in this episode scares me a lot. Thanks for the nightmares Nick! What would I do without you...
Is there something wrong with me?
***** this face www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/images/reviews/190/1223727575_1.jpg
***** i actually wanted to add a warning but then i thought nope :D
***** well atleast it wasnt in a very high resolution...
it scared you, it almost killed me, by laughter!!!
"Whatever Happened To SpongeBob?" Good question... 😑
I can understand how people are scared by the face. XD When I was younger, actually, primitive Patrick's fanged smile closeup in SB-129 downright terrified me, and that was mild in comparison to the face. XD
Did you know that this episode was based on a Spongebob Book called "For The Love of Bubbles"? If you haven´t read it, I really recommend it. In my opinion, it´s miles better than this episode. (Amongst other things, nobody calls him "Idiot Boy")
Pieguy! I just got an awesome idea! If you have an friends who are animators, make whobob whatpants the movie! I've seen the power of pie, YOU CAN DO IT!!!
Hunterworld Not with Viacom and their sh*t copyright rules.
Luna D good point, but what about spongebob in the hood, that hasnt got taken down, alot of stuff hasnt
Hunterworld Yes, but a lot has. Viacom has no idea of what fair use is, and it's risky to do so. Besides, a project that expansive needs money- a large budget, something most people don't have.
Luna D u got me there, but it would be cool
Hunterworld Yeah, it would be.
Honestly, I liked Pest of the West a bit. More than this at least. I'm not alone on that, am I?
You are not alone. Pest of the west was a masterpiece compared to this.
I did prefer Pest of the West over Whatever happened to Spongebob, but I wouldn't say I liked Pest of the West. I still hate both episodes but because of how Spongebob's amnesia was just unnecessary, I prefer Pest of the West
mariofan1ish I adore Pest of the West and I do consiter it my personal favorite of the newer episodes. I think it might be my number one all time favorite. I love the western jokes, the charm and atmosphere, the characters were funny, epecially Pecos Patrick and Dead Eye Plankton, and the songs are alot of fun.
It's all PieGuy's opinon. He even aknowleges in the begining in the Season 1 video that what he says it opinion based. That why I watch him. Plus, he likable, passionate, honest, subtle, doesn't take the stuff he reviews and talks about seriously, doesn't claim everything he says are facts, he's not manipulative and forceful, and overall not a grade "A" a**hole.
I like Pest of the West. It is no where near my favorite but it has its charms and I find it enjoyable.
I know this was 2 years ago, but I also enjoyed that episode.
I have a feeling the writers are intentionally trying to make the eps or are just desperate for ideas... I mean, they only have 2 weeks to write episodes
I respect your opinion, but that face scares the shit out of me. Sure, SpongeBob has been doing grotesque faces since at least Just One Bite, but those worked because the ugliest thing they showed was wrinkles. Rule number one of cringe comedy: the characters should be cringing more than the audience. Unfortunately, outside of Sing a Song of Patrick, these modern writers seem to forget that rule and dedicate whole episodes to torturing not only the characters but the audience as well. You know their kin: The Splinter, Fungus Among Us, Slide Whistle Stooges. So yeah, I find the face heinously disturbing, and it eclipses the rest of the episode. In fact, I couldn't even watch the episode because I didn't know when the face was gonna pop up. But again, I respect your opinion that we're overreacting. It's good that you aren't as disturbed by it as I am.
I hate this episode because of how mean-spirited it is. Spongebob friends is such a jerk in this episode especially Squidward, I really hate how unlikable the characters is
I remember seeing all these horrible episodes many years ago, when I was young and would accept any garbage from Spongebob. Times change...
SpongeBob making a new friend in new kelp city ain't a bad idea. A new friend would be a girl and she likes blowing bubbles as much as SpongeBob does. They might team up to fight against the bubble popping boys.
This episode was sort of like 2 episode plots merged into one episode. The first with Spongebob running away after being insulted, the second with Spongebob waking up one morning ready to go to work, and then gets amnesia and goes missing.
Overall, they’re never able to formally apologize to Spongebob, nor is Spongebob able to refuse their request to come back after calling him Idiot Boy because he has amnesia.
Would have preferred if Spongebob (Cheese Head) remembered Patrick and Sandy when they appeared at his inauguration speech, they urge him to come back, he refuses; they formally apologize and explain how much he is needed in Bikini Bottom, some other character that Spongebob met while journeying to New Kelp City is appointed mayor, they return, Squidward gets the egg, but then he slips and it breaks. At the end everyone except Squidward vows that no matter how angry they are, they will never call Spongebob Idiot Boy again, and he will always be part of their life.
I agree with PieGuy here, this should have been the TV movie, and all the Patchy segments and some parts of Atlantis Squarepantis should have been cut so it filled a 22 minute time slot.
It should’ve been more of a mystery like what they tried to do with that SpongeBob train special. Think about it: the episode opens up on the pineapple. Then you hear the alarm go off and cut to Squidward who wakes up frustrated at the sound of the alarm. He goes over to SpongeBob’s house to complain but no answer. Annoyed, he leaves and goes to work. At work, Krabs asks him where SpongeBob is, noting how the boy is never late for work. Squidward doesn’t think anything of it when Patrick walks in to order some grub. Krabs could ask him where SpongeBob is to which Patrick could give a goofy response. Annoyed, Krabs could call the house and get an answering machine. He gets ready to storm over there when Sandy walks in confused. She asks what’s up and Squidward remarks how SpongeBob didn’t show up for work. Concerned, Sandy drags Patrick and Squidward with her to go check on SpongeBob. They all meet Mr. Krabs there and he goes to knock on the door to find that it’s open. Everyone looks in and see the places is trashed and find Gary hiding in his shell. They all realize something has gone wrong and SpongeBob is missing.
This could then lead into an episode full of flashbacks to events that may or may not have happened. (For example- they all go around town asking other secondary characters when they saw SpongeBob last, such as Larry, Bubble Bass, Plankton, and Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy). Everyone could think he was being bribed into doing something bad, or they could think he was kidnapped. Then, in the end, you could do something like SpongeBob had gone out of town to a family reunion or something and forgot to leave a note. Just an idea.
It would have been so much more satisfying if he did have his memory; for him to prove everyone wrong. But nope. I agree that plenty could have been left out.
Hey Pieguy, when are you gonna upload that KCA video? Just wondering. Great video by the way.
***** Well, we all know Spongebob is going to win Best Cartoon again even though the majority (if not all) of the other nominees are much more deserving at this point.
Couldn't agree more with having it be a TV movie instead of just a 20 minute special. When I first watched it as a kid it felt like it was sorely missing something, you summed it up best.
Another good rant! I love these Spongey Bits videos.
That face is ugly but it doesn't even factor that much into why I dislike the episode.
WE GOTTA GET SPONGEBOB BACK! from -Ukinojoe. Sorry. It just look similar to Who Bob? What Pants?
This episode was based on my book though
Like a licensed spongebob children's book
It's basically the same plot
Did your book have that face......lol
The Jetset Mike q
People, you can stop talking about spongebob now. Steve is back and you guys gotten your wishes granted.
U wanna know a show that done this right? The unbreakable kimmy schmidt. it both features a optimistic giddy person (kimmy, spogebob) trying to make it big in a city, after an event that made them fall( spongebob being ridiculed by evreyone he loves and moving out of town after, kimmy being kidnapped by a crazy priest that tricked her into beliving a neclear war has distroyed civilazation and living in a bunker for 15 years before being rescued.) except that unbreakable 1) is really funny 2) actually gives kimmy a freind in the form of titus and 3) actually have kimmy rebember who she is, just having her cut off from the past 15 years.
I reccomend that u watch it. Its on netflix as a original.
Should I be upset that that episode aired on my birthday?
Also, given the story they tried to tell, this should've been a TV movie and not Atlantis Squarepantis.
Pie guy, can you review ipsycho and it's sequel from iCarly plz, thanks! :)
Oh man what was the face? I only watched this episode once years ago and I barely remember it but now I'm curious.
Be happy
As much as people tend to hate on them, I actually really like amnesia plots. I think it's a great opportunity to explore a character while simultaneously having them be put in completely unfamiliar territory and not really be themselves. Depending on what the writers decide to do, the character could still retain their original personality but lose their memories, or alternatively, completely lose everything, personality and all, having the character completely start all over. This is a great story idea for both comedy and/or drama plots, depending on what the writers decide to do with it, and having the character eventually get their memory back while still retaining their memories of being an amnesiac can be really good for character development - you know, experiencing life as an entirely different person for a time is probably fairly eye opening. Heck, they could even have the character switch sides for a time while their memories are gone, then switch back after they get their memories back, having a new found understanding of the viewpoint of the other side. As cliche as these amnesia plots tend to be, I think they have the potential to be extremely interesting and entertaining if the writers know what to do with them, and there's enough room for variation that I don't think people should be dismissing the whole idea so quickly.
As for this particular special - from what I remember of it at least - it did feel a bit cluttered. I remember being very curious as to what angle they would go about portraying an amnesia plot in Spongebob. They went with the comedy route, naturally, but it didn't work because, as you said, the jokes weren't all that funny. In fact, they were groan-inducing. And because the plot was so cluttered, there wasn't enough time to focus on Spongebob's identity crisis either. I didn't hate this episode, but I was certainly disappointed by it, what with all the potential they could have tapped into, but didn't. The whole thing could have been astronomically improved just by dropping a few of the side plots to focus more on the main plots, and the character interactions. It could have even worked that way with all the flat jokes, because the plot would have been interesting enough to hold it all together. The marketing didn't help the episode either because it made the whole thing feel like a ratings trap - which it was, but it didn't have to feel like one.
i hate the close up on sponegbob its disqusting
I just went to look up the face cause I couldn’t remember what it looked like and I’m gonna cry 😅
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they spent more time making the hideous face than the actual episode.
Honestly, I think the faces in Face Freeze were more creepy than the one here, because:
A. This one is just a still image, and SpongeBob doesn't talk with it.
B. It's one scene that goes as quickly as it comes, instead of being the only joke and storytelling device in the episode.
C. It actually has a set-up and punchline, aside from, haha weird face.
Well, in my opinion the faces from Face Freeze were much more tolerable. They are just kind of weird and not atrocious. And due to the way Spongebob is animated, still images have much more detail than animated ones. If the Spongebob gross out from this was talking, it would be much more tolerable.
I Both Agree and Disagree
I feel like if Spongebob talked with that shot, it would become almost 100x more horrifying, but in Face Freeze, the Faces arent as ugly, they’re just kinda… strange
This episode was banned in Latin America...
Why?
ReimuHakureiShrine Probably becouse of the face
fryUaj That face is sexi : >
Either that or the reason it was banned was because of the fact they have called SpongeBob an "Idiot Boy"
So u have a nightmare fetish?
According to my brother, Squidward takes his brain out because he wants to forget about Spongebob.
+PIEGUYRULZ Mr.Krabs will fire spongebob FOR A DIME thats how cheap mr krabs is now -_- im actually serious.I bet there's going to be an episode where mr krabs fires squidward for a penny.
nope I was a nickel
+FuriousFirebird Gaming yeah my bad
+FuriousFirebird Gaming nick went downhill after season 4-9 spongebob became shit including all these new shows and know I watch cartoon network and rarely watch nick olny when its spongebob seasons 1-3.The new writers ruined spongebob for everyne, its like they never watch and sponge Bob before,I want the old writers for sponge Bob back ;(
Gaming Zombie210 true because good neighbors show a sign that spongebob is going down hill
Wow, I really read the title wrong, lol.
The face in this episode never really scared me. I thought it was pretty funny looking or so.
6:01 It's an actual picture of Scumbob himself
I wish the episode had spongebob *pretending* to have amnesia and pretends that he can’t remember bikini bottom and his friends and it ends with spongebob pranking his friends as revenge by giving them a box with an exploding confetti balloon full of honey chocolate pudding pancakes and eggs inside it. And when mr krabs asked where’s spongebob? He found the box in front of him which had a note that said for Patrick krabs sandy and squidward. And when Patrick opens it the prank balloon inside explodes and confetti honey chocolate pudding pancakes and eggs flew everywhere. And then Spongebob came out of nowhere and said: that’s what all of you get for calling me an idiot boy! And then Laughs.
I must say. I kinda like you take on this episode more then mr enter's. not that I didn't like his review, but your review seemed to look at things in more reasonable since
Welcome to the Under 301 Club. How tought are you?
How tough am I? I watched 50 Shades of Gray.
Without puking.
wariolandgoldpiramid I yanked someone's balls out...
while stuffing the balls up his ass.
I visited 4chan and watched Where the Dead go to die.
How tough am I?
I ate Vegemite out of THE JAR.
The gross-up close up sequence was also done in “Just One Bite” and “Jellyfish Hunter”
Yeah but the faces were much less severe
If I'm going to be honest right here, after WhoBob WhatPants?, I actually started to lose my respect for Squidward and now started to appreciate the Squidward Torture Porn episodes even more.
This episode is a reference to Whatever Happened to Baby Jane a 1962 horror movie 😨
Am i the only one that liked this special?
No, there must be another few people that liked It... But it's a minority
PGR! Did you know that the 1999 - 2003 writer of Spongebob is coming back to write a bunch of new episodes?
KoolDawg99 Who?
***** I forget his name but it's the guy who wrote the Spongebob episodes 1999-2004.
KoolDawg99 Aaron Springer?
***** Maybe.
KoolDawg99 That's Stephen Hillenburg. He was the director, not a writer.
More like whatever happened to scumbob
thanks for the review
More like Whatever happened to SpongeBob
The so called "overreactions" on the gross out close up is that it came out of nowhere and the fact that kids watch spongebob makes it scary and creepy to most people viewing. Hell it even makes me jump as if it's like a jumpscare.
Well said! Maybe if this were a TV movie special, it could also include the Patchy segments in it and let's just say the Patchy segments of this special is the same concept as Atlantis Squarepantis where Patchy was about to head home but got stuck in a heavy traffic jam and suddenly the city disappeared or perhaps shrunk. (Maybe for Atlantis Squarepantis, it should be a regular 11 minute episode with less filler and nothing to sing about, you know by not including any of the parts that you strongly hate.) Or something else that's related to what the episode is. It should've been whatever you said throughout this video on what you could fix this. Maybe remove the amnesia part where Spongebob fell down, hit his head, and lose his memory so he couldn't remember anything, Squidward because he was too mean spirited like yeah we get it or unless if it has to do with Squidward who really wants Spongebob back then yeah, just like in the cliché special "Spongebob, You're Fired!" he needed Spongebob's help to fix the Krusty Krab there, and the part where Spongebob became mayor of New Kelp City. Your thought of how you want this special episode to be improved is exactly what I wished it would've turned out. But overall it's a huge mess. It could've been a lot better if let's say Mr. Krabs, Patrick, and Sandy as they all found Spongebob in New Kelp City, Spongebob, let's just say he made new friends, told his new friends that he decides to go back to Bikini Bottom, they all went to the Krusty Krab and Mr. Krabs, Patrick, and Sandy apologized to Spongebob for calling him Idiot Boy. I mean that doesn't necessarily mean that someone's a complete idiot if they accidentally wrecked something. You should've also noticed something about Gary, despite that he didn't say "Idiot Boy" because he's a snail and snails don't talk, should've been featured in the ending as well. Maybe have an epic ending twist with the Bubble Popping Boys and let's just say the clam popped the giant bubble the guys were floating inside and they fell in the Krusty Krab. That would be a much better ending twist than the one where Squidward put away his brain because you said that it comes out of nowhere and has nothing to do with this episode. Well, maybe it was because he didn't want to remember anyone and the amnesia's on him. And speaking of which, yeah that amnesia part seems unnecessary like we don't care if Spongebob can't remember anything, not even his name so people called him "Cheese Head." Of course, what do sponge and cheese have in common? It would've been a lot better if it weren't for that amnesia part so instead the theme song should be "Spongebob Squarepants" as it always is, and the title can still be named as "What Ever Happened To Spongebob?" mainly because Spongebob was mistreated by his closest friends even if he didn't do anything intentionally. But overall what we have here are just things going out of nowhere and not what we wanted. It's a complete mess! Yeah, it was all Spongebob's fault and he's an idiot boy for all this destruction! Well, this episode is overly cluttered and pointless on most of the scenes. ☹️
I Love this episode
About the "ugly" still-frame image of SpongeBob in this special....yes, it IS a still picture, with the notable exception of an animated snot bubble coming out of one of SpongeBob's nostrils and popping. But other than that, yes, it's merely a picture.
Yep. I agree with you. The title Whatever Happened to SpongeBob? explains all what happens to him. Im gonna tell all the things that happened in the episode. 1. SpongeBob wakes up and everybody calls him idiot boy after he messes up 4 times so he decides to leave bikini bottom 2. Patrick mr. Krabs and Sandy (except SquidWard) regret what they did and try to get SpongeBob back. 3. They bring SpongeBob back and he still wants to go to new Kelp City and be mayor but a news report comes and says people cant see with all the bubbles. So SpongeBob decides to stay in bikini bottom. So those are all 3 problems that explains why this episode is terrible. Just screw this episode.
Pest of the west is my 2nd favorite episode...oh well, everyone's different.
Kinda iffy.
Probably the season tbh
honestly it's really boring to me
I see where you're coming from.
I think the reason most people hate the gross-up close up in this episode is because while SpongeBob has had gross-up close ups in the past, they were mostly just added wrinkles that were just intended for a laugh. In this episode, it seems like it was intentionally made solely to gross out/scare the crap out of younger viewers. They put effort into making it look as ugly and painful as possible. But hey, that's just me.
Man,remember when this aired for the first time.Nick made a big deal about it,saying it was the episode where Spongebob leaves town or something like that,Over hyping like usual
Can you do the bored identity rant?! The episode of fairly odd parents made me hate the word boo ya because Cosmo and the other characters said that joke over and over and over again and its getting on my nerves!!!!!!!!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
I had never seen this episode, but I knew about the face.
So I scrolled down the page to not see it.
I don't know if it's in the video...
After watching the video, I was kind of thinking about doing a redone script. Should I do it?
You're right. The Spongebob writers could've actually done something pretty cool with the plot. But no, they have to go ahead and ruin it. Another thing is, dat face though..
I think this episode is meh.
Just a boring episode that does not know what to do with itself and feels very flimsy (Bad) (4/10)
WHATEVER HAPPENED TO SPONGEBOB? IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
pieguyrulez what's your favorite 22 minute spongebob special?
The mic quality in this video is kind of weird.
Not to be annoying but I just want to ask if u think u know when the season 7 review will be out?
First! To say first!
Lol 😂
Fuck off.
ReimuHakureiShrine Ok.
u seem cool so I guess I'll 1+ ur comment lol
0:17 whats the music that plays in the backround
I still remember this campaign (I don't know if they did it in the US too) where Nickelodeon refused to air Spongebob because "Spongebob went missing" and you should search for him which led to poorly recorded videos made by some 5 year old kid in which he films something that's squared and yellow being aired on TV and Nickelodeon was all like "YOU FOUND SPONGEBOB!" just to hype up this episode.
yeah they did this in the US too
I think we in the US caused this
This episode’s title is what I say about modern spongebob
In my opinion, this ep wasn't amazing but it did feel reminiscent of older seasons at times.
Model Sponge Made Me Have a Flashback when Spongebob was trying new jobs
What's the name of the Incompetech track that plays during your rant?
The face kinda was in motion when SpongeBob blew that snot bubble.
I know am late to the party but didn't this episode have two names?
Does anyone remember the original story that this episode was based off of?
When I saw the trailer and the beginning parts, I knew this was going to be a train wreck!
Great review!
Ah Pieguy, I was waiting for this review to come.
what is the background music
It sickens me on how shitty the cartoon got in Season 5
well yes season 5 was pretty bad, it was only the base for people at nick to fuck shit up. I say season 7 was the true decline. yes season 5 was bad, season 7 was god awful (and season 6 was also super bad and I have a hard time deciding which one caused the DEEP decline of the show)
+AgentJohn At least it seems to be doing fine with Season 9 long hiatuses not withstanding.
Can someone animate your TV movie?
Hi PIEGUYRULZ
You forgot to put in the season 6 episode ratings
Sean Sampson What are you talking about?
