I actually hope this will bring more awareness even with bigger tech youtubers so we could try to make Nvidia apply these settings for every game. ReBar with Nvidia already had some problems in some games where it had a little bit lower performance than ReBar OFF so if generally there's even an AVG +5% in 1% lows it's better than leaving everything off.

The bigger the vram , theres bigger perfomance boost , if your card has 8gb vram and game used it all theres almost no improvement , you should test 3060ti or 3070 with 8gb vram .
Hey it's just about my favourite piece of software as a long time NVidia user. You can do fancy things with it such as you could do framerate limiting before this became available in the driver, you can do SGSSAA for older games with no built-in anti-aliasing to make them look absolutely amazing, and so on. Plus it's quick, i can make and drink coffee while official NVidia control panel loads the game list!
There are a lot of nice technologies to improve GPU performance, but how about boost CPU performance? Any "FSR/DLSS" for it? And games have not got CPU settings (only Serious Sam 3 and 4 have it) so if you have CPU bottleneck you can't enable any boost technology or take down CPU settings like in GPU.
Looking at your examples: power draw, temperature and overall system resources for both CPU and GPU are substantially increased. What i see cascades into a bunch of other things, one would be increased fan speed and more noise less overall system resources. Again, yes it does work, however, with a cost not free.
You're thinking too much about it, and in the wrong way. The CPU and GPU usage were not "higher" with Rebar ON, they were how they should be from the beginning, they however were low without Rebar ON, leading to lower performance. Also, it was free, as the difference would not be noticeable just for that unless you have a crappy system with no airflow, no proper heat dissipation and so on...just saying
Should I leave the program active or can I close NVIDIA Profile Inspector?? and the configuration is still there? Or do you have to always have the program open every time you put the game's profile? I have it enabled from bio but when I turned on Nvidia P Inspec... it came out disabled... xD now it's enabled as you explained
Please help. I play COD MW3 with a 10900k OC'd, 4400 cl17 OC'd ram and a 7900XTX OC'd. I play at 1440p low settings both mp and wz. Resizable Bar DISABLED benchmarks CPU: 385fps avg - 256fps 1%lows GPU: 323fps avg - 256fps 1%lows Bottlenecks: CPU 11% and GPU 89% Overall 315fps avg - 243fps 1% lows. Resizable Bar ENABLED benchmarks CPU: 335fps avg - 124fps 1%lows GPU: 364fps avg - 249fps 1%lows Bottlenecks: CPU 64% and GPU 36% Overall 324fps avg - 124fps 1% lows. So disabling Resizable Bar raises the CPUs 1%lows from 124fps to 256fps but hurts the GPU making it the bottleneck with 89%. For fps games is it not better to be cpu bottlenecked and not GPU bottlenecked so as to eliminate system latency? Or is it more important to play with higher 1% lows? For RTX 3080 and Up, IMO it may put their VRAM's literally on fire along smoke so that makes me hesitant on trigger finger on that Resizable Bar feature since higher end 30 series have their Vram temps already roasting so I will pass and avoid the risk
@@AncientGameplays As I have read that it involves mainly changing the nature of GPU VRAM activity with the CPU so I guess more active memory, higher temps. Correct me if I am misunderstanding.
@@maxdread3230 It actually changes the PCIe usage and how software sees the GPU. VRAM is operated physically and logically the same between modes. Semantically there is a difference in VRAM usage. With fixed size aperture (standard old mode), there are two distinct VRAM heaps, one is up to 256MB in size and coherent (write/readable, such that when the GPU writes to this portion, the CPU can see the change at once and vice versa), and one encompasses the rest of usable VRAM but it's made available to you only temporarily for the purpose of writing to it quickly and then you normally can't access it, since for the purpose of the write, a section of it is actually temporarily inside that 256MB small aperture heap. With Resizable BAR, there is only one heap, it encompasses the complete software-usable VRAM area, and it's fully coherent. It eliminates a lot of hand-holding the driver and software have to do to get the VRAM populated or re-populated with data. This is what is meant when someone says VRAM is used differently. It is presented differently to software. Software engine quirks can cause a performance regression, such as maybe some engines search incessantly for non-coherent buffers and then give up, which takes a little time, or have additional safeguards on coherent buffers purely due to unrefined software architecture. But if that weren't the case, Resizeable BAR should have been only advantageous.

@@AncientGameplays Yeah i've noticed on most ya video's its tested on. But i figured those are games with reBar support confirmed by nvidia. Be nice to see a video on a list of games that's not enabled by default to see the comparisson :)

Hey there, thanks for the informative video. Thanks to you and your videos I bought RX 6650 XT from XFX and i love the card so far, is it safe for me to enable Rebar without affecting stability or any other negative effects?
6650xt is sam, not rebar, and yes, you should have it enabled since the beginning
@@AncientGameplays thanks for the reply 😊
Great video!
Thanks
The bigger the vram , theres bigger perfomance boost , if your card has 8gb vram and game used it all theres almost no improvement , you should test 3060ti or 3070 with 8gb vram .
Not just the vram, more things go into it
Brooooo !!! I have RTX 3070 and I didn’t even know there is a software named Nvidia profile inspector !! I’ll try this thanks alot 😍😍
You're very welcome. Big hug
Thanks bro, I used it with warzone 2 and got good results
Great!
You could try to tune memory timings. But seriously buy a second hand CPU upgrade, that will help and is much cheaper than buying a GPU.
Def gonna do this before I start deadspace got about 15 more hours of witcher 3
Looking at your examples: power draw, temperature and overall system resources for both CPU and GPU are substantially increased. What i see cascades into a bunch of other things, one would be increased fan speed and more noise less overall system resources. Again, yes it does work, however, with a cost not free.
You're thinking too much about it, and in the wrong way. The CPU and GPU usage were not "higher" with Rebar ON, they were how they should be from the beginning, they however were low without Rebar ON, leading to lower performance.
Also, it was free, as the difference would not be noticeable just for that unless you have a crappy system with no airflow, no proper heat dissipation and so on...just saying
wrong.
enabled it, also i set rebar size limit for DX12 games i play (FH4, Apex, Fortnite) to 8gb (0x0000000200000000) since my gpu is a 3060Ti XD
Can close it. It saves the options
@@AncientGameplays Yes, save the options, thank you very much for answering. I love your videos. Greetings from Spain.
There needs to be a list of games it benefits....I don't understand why there isn't.
hello, does it also work on old nvidia rtx2000 series cards?
According to some users it does!
Please help. I play COD MW3 with a 10900k OC'd, 4400 cl17 OC'd ram and a 7900XTX OC'd. I play at 1440p low settings both mp and wz.
Resizable Bar DISABLED benchmarks
CPU: 385fps avg - 256fps 1%lows
GPU: 323fps avg - 256fps 1%lows
Bottlenecks: CPU 11% and GPU 89%
Overall 315fps avg - 243fps 1% lows.
Resizable Bar ENABLED benchmarks
CPU: 335fps avg - 124fps 1%lows
GPU: 364fps avg - 249fps 1%lows
Bottlenecks: CPU 64% and GPU 36%
Overall 324fps avg - 124fps 1% lows.
Please reply at your convenience. I found these results to be interesting findings.
you can modify x99 motherboards to feature resizable bar. theres a video on youtube did it on my msi carbon x99a.
One wonders why isn't ReBar enabled by default if it's a free boost, at least in games that seem to benefit the most? I don't get it...
Because in some games it may decrease it ir seems
@@AncientGameplays I mean in the game profile in the nvidia drivers, why doesn't nvidia enable rebar in those games that benefit from it? Why do we as users have to do that?
I have a problem I use to have a GTX 750 ti and and i5 2500 and I recently got a GTX 1050 ti but my pc has been getting less fps and idk why
Do a clean drivers install
I'd like to know if there's a list with games which are recommended to manually turn off resized bar since I've turned it on for all games now.
I dont think so
I wonder if this rebar "trick" also works on old Nvidia GPUs such as the GTX 1060?
I doubt but you can try
@R does it work?
I was literally doing a research for this this morning lol thanks bro
How about Intel CPU with a Radeon Card?
I have a 10700k and a 6600XT and it works fine.
@@MurderOne. can verify, when i tried it with my old 6700XT and 3700XT i barely got a boost and think performance dropped in a few titles. When moved the 6700XT into my 12700K rig, i got noticeable boosts in a lot of titles. AMD doesnt wanna tell you SAM/ReBar works just as well paired with Intel CPUs but it does
Radeon = SAM, doesn't matter what the software calls it
In your scenario you barely got a boost because you were cpu bottlenecked 💪
very good video. btw you sound portuguese accent. i know cuz u sound like my accent lol
I see. Um abraço!
Is there a way to force ReBAR on the AMD side in specific games?
I believe not
heyyy!! i bought a 12600k when it was on sale and i'm still deciding which gpu to buy, should i buy an rx 6700 or an rtx 3060? kinda considered it bc of the vram and rebar but now i'm kinda confused
or 4060 lol they're around the same price anyways
Hey now this might sound stupid but yeah i don’t know all these things.I have a Amd 6600xt ROG strix card and im deciding on what cpu to upgrade to.What would you recommend a i7 12700kf 5800x3d or 5900x what would give me the best performance and is SAM beter than resize bar ?Side note these are all in upgrade kits and the x3d ones have really coolers and that is a deciding factor as I won’t have enough now to get a beter one
Sam is for amd cards. Also, if you already have a mobo go 5800x3d
@@AncientGameplays Thanks man i made a decision and placed an order for the 5800x3d with the upgrade kit and this is gonna bring so much more out of my 6600xt.I'll also be watching your video on how to enable SAM and optimize my system further.Amazing channel and vidoe's keep up the great work.
Could you test it with 3rd gen ryzen as well? :)

IS SAM broken on 5700xt or is X570 motherboard? I change except mb, everything else, fans, cooler, cpu, psu, ram. Reboots happens too with my GTX 1070 as long I have SAM on in bios.
I know right!
I have a Asus Datk Hero viii and using 5900X and a 3080Ti and it just so unstable and constantly crashes my system when SAM is enabled.
Just udpate mobo bios...
3080ti = rebar, not sam...
@@AncientGameplays I have the latest BIOS in the dark hero, and it still does it, I don’t get or understand why, it could be just an Asus thing, as to be fair it’s only on Asus x570 boards that I have this issue or indeed others I have spoken to seem only to be affected if they have an Asus x570 board, it’s weird buddy 🤷♂️
So, buying 4080 and using ReBAR is bette than 7900xtx with SAM. If they were at same price (as they are where i live), would you buy 7900xtx or 4080?
rebar is already enabled for most titles though, these are 10 of them where it wasn't. At the same price? 4080
Can I enable Rebar using this software if my cpu doesn't support it, but my gpu does? I'm using a Ryzen 2600 and a RTX 3060ti.
It should work in theory yes
How is the Preformance when you play MMO's like lost ark/Final fantasy etc did you test that too?
wouldn't differ much usually and they're mostly CPu bottlenecked
So this work on a 1080 Ti? Cause I mostly play cyberpunk and I want all the FPS possible.
Maybe...
Does this working with laptop too? If yes I gonna see the video😀 Have bad time right now.😎
It could work
Could you do this test on Hogwarts legacy as people with Nvidia cards seem to have problems but AMD didn't have any issues with frame drops.
The software needs an update first
Thank You!
Does games lose performance if i let the option enabled on Bios? Or is safe to let the option on?
I have a 10900k and a 6900xt, do I have SAM or Resizable Bar?
Amd gpus = SAM, no matter what the software says
Thank you for the video. how i can verify that resizible bar is activate after i followd your steps? as i go to nvidia control panel and to the system information the resaults there saying " resizible bar= no"
If profile inspector says it is activated and you have activated it on BIOS, then it is ON
@@AncientGameplays well my bios looks like doesn't have that option at all :)
Soo, it's a net increase overall and those worse 1% lows might be a measurement error ?
Seems like you didn't test *any* dx11 titles here? how many of these titles are actually ram intensive enough for it to matter? Should have added Assetto Corsa and maybe MS Flight Simulator 2020 (in DX11 and DX12)

Its very confusing that the Nvidia driver information shows resizable Bar is enabled but in Nvidia inspector it says its disabled. I enabled it in the inspector and lost frames in MSFS.
because some games don't benefit from it, hence it being disabled

For RTX 3080 and Up, IMO it may put their VRAM's literally on fire along smoke so that makes me hesitant on trigger finger on that Resizable Bar feature since higher end 30 series have their Vram temps already roasting so I will pass and avoid the risk
What? Dude....LOL, who told you that and why do you believe such things lol
@@AncientGameplays As I have read that it involves mainly changing the nature of GPU VRAM activity with the CPU so I guess more active memory, higher temps. Correct me if I am misunderstanding.
@@maxdread3230 it actually uses less call for the same amount of vram. Nothing that causes higher ram temps or any dmg at all.
@@AncientGameplays Thanks for the info. I was really looking for a clarification which you gave me. I will give Resizable bar a try certainly now.

I have ReBAR enable in my B460 mainboard w i3-10100f.
Not sure if all guys around that informed well, but I want to mind you need this:
1.Have boot drive with GPT instead of MBR (GPT support s bigger than 2TB drives not like MBR)
I am running just 250 and 500GB nvme SSDs and that feature was absolutely away of focus or offer during fornatting. Maybe I stayed with cloning old drive Win/apps for long time, lol.
>>did that transformation with no data loss, thx EaseUS Partition Master, free app)
2..Once you get GPT boot drive, you can set BIOS line CSM Off.
(having CSM Off with MBR type boot drive won't boot your OS)
Some sources say GPT cuts your booting time, I saw slowdown upto 1-2sec w GPT)
Didn't notice any boost in my DX9 and DX11 only 2 games, seems I need some unoptimized Tokyo get faster fps:)
Just little comment on AMD Radeon vs Nvidia:
There was some survey getting Nvidia fans interest to pay roughly 10 percent bonus for Nvidia gpu with same performance as AMD gpu, just for extra features and drivers stability reputation.
Checked pricing of RTX3060 getting extra 20perc luxury margin on cheapest single fan vs usual cheapest RX 6600 (2fan), while 3060ti has that 20perc markup over 6700xt. It looks Nvidia fans are willing to pay double bonus against what they claim. Lol.
