Thank you so much ,your video was very helpful for this 63 yrs old mechanic,I've dropped many tanks but I am going to get those handy fule line clip removal plyers.
Great video always eager to learn specially owning a 2006 dodge ram 2500 5.9. Thanks 🙏🏻
These are good trucks. The 5.9 is a great engine with very few problems 👍
Nice video, I have a 2006 Dodge Cummins 5.9 3500 and I was told that it loosing pressure. I gonna try replacing the fuel pump. Thanks for the video.
Thanks! my next project on my Dodge RoadTrek 3500 190
Awesome! Thanks so much for this, great video!!
Thanks Bryce!

What size tires do you have? Curious how high you are off the ground.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and great video. My friends dodge dulley will start up then die. Do you think it's the fuel pump?
Yup
No that could be a number of issues start with the simple and easy fixes or solutions obviously read codes first
Would this be the same for a 2008 dodge ram 3500?
Great video! I got the same car
Hey Aaron thanks 👍
What you took out had 4 wires visible on fuel pump assembly. The one you put in only had 2 visible wires on the pump. Turns out what you installed was the fuel level assembly, that's why there were only 2 wires, I could see fuel pump on one you removed that had 4 wires, 2 to actual pump and 2 for level sensor. The new one had no pump and only 2 wires, but the connection on fuel pump assembly has 4 blades.
I can't remember on this one but around this year some Dodges had the pump next to the fuel filter and what was in the tank was just the level sensor and others had it all in the tank. They also make a conversion kit to eliminate the pump by the engine.
Cool stuff.
Hey thanks
NGL I’m contemplating using a hole saw and making a DIY fuel pump port.
Nice bro 👌🏻
Thanks!
Awesome ☺
Thank you! Cheers!
what would be the symptoms of a bad pump sir
The truck wouldn't start. It has two fuel pumps. The low pressure lift pump in the tank brings fuel to the high pressure fuel pump on the front of the engine. The high pressure pump builds pressure and feeds the injectors. The in tank fuel pump also has the level sensor on it and lets you know how much fuel is in the tank.
Good video
Thanks
I’ve got almost the exact same truck, I’m having problems fueling up, I cleaned the 2 little Evap valves and still no fix, I’ve been trying to see if these have the rollover/ anti siphon ball, anyone know? 2005 ram 3500 Cummins
I have a question and i can't get an answer from anyone. So i have a 1998 dodge 3500 dually with the v10 gas engine and my fuel pump shit the bed i think. I have a buddy who has an tank fuel pump from a same year make and model truck but it's diesel. Is it possible to use the fuel pump from the diesel truck to put on my gas engine
That's a good question. Diesels have 2 pumps. A lift pump and a high pressure pump. The lift pump from the diesel truck may not put out enough pressure to supply your fuel rail. You can check output with a fuel pressure gauge to find out. Then the wiring harness needs to match up. And the depth of each tank would need to be the same. Sometimes they use different tanks for the gas model vs the diesel. If all that lines up then you need to make sure the diesel pump can handle unleaded gasoline. It might be easier to purchase a new pump and know it's going to work and last a long time.
Was hoping you were replacing just the fuel pump, not the entire fuel pump assembly. You kept saying "fuel pump" so, that threw me off. Still, a good video.
Jesus loves you all
You as well...
Wow
Go a step further get a click lack pump to drain the fuel
Yeah, using a small inline electric fuel pump would make the job go a lot quicker. I use this hand pump on both diesel and gas and it works relatively well. One caution on electric pumps would be keeping the switch and electrical connections far away from fuel vapors. Thanks for your comment 👍
I bought a 12 volt electric fule pump I keep on the wall with clear soft hose attached just for this use ,,,dose it quickly for the many tanks I've had to drop
