- Like their adult animal companions, baby animals at Zoo Vienna / Schönbrunn Zoo @thezoovienna act as ambassadors for their fellow animals in the wild. This is because the greatest and saddest commonality remains the threat of habitat loss and extinction by humans.
"Conservation breeding is a central task of modern, scientifically managed zoos and aquariums in order to secure the existence of endangered animal species through reserve populations," says zoo director Stephan Hering-Hagenbeck.
Zoo Vienna’s baby orangutan success is an example of important experience in animal social grouping and the results of well-thought-out social group composition.
“In 2020, two new females joined the orangutan group. The interaction of the best support and many years of experience is very important," explains Hering-Hagenbeck.
The reward was the first orangutan offspring in over 20 years. After six months, the female cub shows its first teeth and detaches a little more from its mother every day to explore its surroundings independently.

They have so much love for their babies. ❤
Shes so cute an mommy just loves her
I don't care what anyone says.... there's a sweet soul behind those eyes. ❤️ The Momma kisses and protects her baby just like I protect and love mine. Awesome!
I say you're right!
How wonderful is seeing mom teaching so much to her baby.
You can definitely see how much Momma loves her baby girl! Mom was extremely attentive while Kendari was practicing her climbing, and she was so sweet to offer her reassurance that Mom was close by if she needed anything! Such a loving, caring Mom, and her "Auntie" (the other female orangutan) was also very excited, and interested in interacting with Kendari. ♥️♥️♥️ I just adore orangutans, and I'm thankful that these 3 can show people why it's so important to act now to help save their natural Wild habitats, and to create sustainable preserves for them to live safely, and free!🌱🌴🦧♥️♥️♥️
Momma teaching her baby and watching her carefully❤. Baby is adorable🥰.
You tels abouth the group, but oeranutans, don't want contact with another oeranutan!! Only when there must coming together for an new baby!! But It is very beautiful!! Bigger sizes room its better!! In the forrest more trees!! Oeranutans living opstairs on the top of an tree!! Not on the ground very sad
Orangutans do live in the tops of trees for safety and they make nests to sleep in.
if this isn't love, i dont know what is!
Amazing. 💜💜💜💜
OMG when mom leaned in for a kiss from baby!!! I love these beautiful creatures. ❤
What a beautiful baby, it's amazing the love and affection the baby gets from mama
Just amazing to watch the love between mama and baby!!!
I have never seen a baby that small trying to be so independent. It's a good thing she has responsible adults watching her.
💭👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Right away ~ the first minute that one was pulling slack out of that wad of the strapping. To make it better for the Kid to play on I'm thinking. 😃💯❗ Yup❕ G-G.
Precious little kisses...They are so beautiful. Wonderful mother....so careful and attentive.

She is proud of her little one. So precious. 🥰🥰
Love
💕 💞 ♥️ 💜 Thank u !
Beautiful
That baby seems way too skinny like she is not getting enough milk from her mother. I rarely see her suckle from her mom!
Are those bananas all for me 🍌
Como le enseña y obliga a caminar, que maravilla 😊😊😊
Awww. this baby has such beautiful teeth! Just like mom's. If we as human moms can nurture and love our babies as much as this mom, we will be Ok. They love their babies with all the maternal instinct they have and honestly, it's all that works.
The humans that hurt these beautiful beings will be judged harshly by Oden.
Meine Güte sind die alle süß 🥰 ❤
Wow! Sari is an amazing mother! The way she laughed/smiled at her little baby. She new just how many steps to walk before she sat down so baby could practice. She was so absorbed, her reflection was the closest to any human mommy I've seen so far. Just so beautiful together! 🍼🙏❤️😻🤟
Seriously, a great mother? In nature, she would also count steps sitting in the treetops and making sure that the child did not fall. She is an immature mother from the beginning, look how tender the other female is to him, she doesn't even want to feed her too much and runs away from him and does not teach how to walk, because in nature they move on branches, not walk.
@@donataj2213 Wow….
Милые зверушки ,обожаю❤❤❤

Lotsa kisses
Such ugly but gentle creatures
Kisses!!!! 😚😚😚😚
So sweet
just hanging out with the bananas!!😂
She is a Doll Baby !!!!!
So protective with baby, and better teachers than most human parents!
The second female is still more interested in the child and is more tender than the mother. The mother probably hasn't yet matured into her role, so it's strange that nothing happened to the child during these months. How can you write that after 6 months it moves away from its mother, in nature the mother does not run away from the child, and the child moves away because it is hungry, she almost does not want to feed him from the beginning. Scientific matchmaking? the orangutan is a loner and doesn't live in a herd, and it's about breeding, if only there were more young! We should fight for their natural habitat, not lock them in cages with males to produce children that I will spend my whole life behind bars!
Oooooh qe preciosidad de bebe y la mama siempre esta pendiente de el 😘😘😘😘
The way the woman’s voice dropped at the very end there was weird.
The Austrian zookeeper's voice dropped on one word at the end of a sentence because she's speaking German, which is a "guttural language" that has very deep vocal sounds formed in the back of the throat. This is one of the reasons that German has been called the "pig language" for centuries.
@@Mary_Thompson Interesting. I didn’t know that, but it was the first time I’d heard it so pronounced. Thank you.
The baby moves like an upside-down chameleon climbing the rope. Maybe it is one camouflaged as an orangutan.
Precious , pure joy & look at him go !!! 💞
