I agree with your take there. Playing Vel'Koz in the mid-lane is nothing but miserable. Sure, you might have one or two enjoyable games against typical mages like Syndra or TF and such, but why bother picking high-risk low-return champions like them when you could choose hybrids like Ahri or LeBlanc? Even Akali, with her Doran's Shield and Second Wind, can completely ignore the laning phase. I currently play at Diamond 2 to Low Master, and this ELO feels like a literal hellhole where people are just trying to win by abusing the meta. It sucks to see these creatures again and again. Out of my last 20 games, I counted 12 with Ahri, 4 with Sylas, 3 against LeBlanc, and the last one against Katarina, which, ironically, was the least boring game out of all of them. I mainly play support and APC now, so it's not my problem anymore, but I am genuinely sick of facing the Ahri champion. It just sucks.

I hope they don't nerf him because I recently started playing him before the buffs as support and I'm sitting on 80% win rate currently from 20 games in plat. Its crazy how much I win with Vel Koz. My lane is 100% stomp,enemy adc/support are either sitting at low hp behind turret or dead. Counter picks don't matter either because I destroy them from range anyway.
I feel like you always ult to early. Like at the fight at 11:30 you still could do WQ combo en ult afterwards to get double true dmg proc and even get more kills. Just an obeservation that you do this a lot in the games you play. But love your content!
