Is the only book i have ever thrown against a wall, then paced around the book a few minutes before picking it back up... ( was the scene when the Ka-Tet first meet the Crimson King together) Wizard and Glass tho...is one of the greatest novels i personally have ever read....
I gotta say it was hard to find a negative review of this on RUclips. But I found it lol. I finally moved on with my reading life and enjoying other worlds.
@@grandmarquee that's kind of why I toughed it out. I felt like I was going insane due to the overwhelming love everyone has for these books. I don't want people to feel alone.
I was very disappointed too with the ending. The whole last act and what happens with the three main antagonists is very anticlimactic and doesn't do the buildup any justice. To be fair, IT is an extremely good book, I would even call it a masterpiece, were it not for the characters forgetting in the end (something that was explicitly corrected in the 2018 movie)
Before the last three books were published i convinced a friend to read the series.... While we waited for Wolves to be released we had our theories on how it would it.... My theory was the Crimson King was luring Roland to the Dark Tower purposely, because he was tired and _mad_ from being it's protector and wanted to trick Roland into taking his place, but by the end Eddie was going to do so..... My friend thought that was foolish and said the story will end the same way it began.... I hated when he said it and i hated it even more when it became a reality

@@Writing4Jesus247 I think answering that question deserves a follow up video. I think I owe it to the audience to explain why I read so much Stephen King. Several people have asked.

OK, you really had me laughing. You should do more videos expressing unhappiness!! In spite of your negative feedback, I've decided to read The Dark Tower series. @@sarahmcdonald9624 I don't understand how this series is considered a top 5 fantasy series? Does the fantasy genre suck that much? I have limited experience reading fantasy, but this isn't worthy of being in the same conversation as LOTR.
This was the sense I got from my limited experience of King, but i kept thinking it couldn't be, that he was way too successful for that. The Stand had me locked in for the first half, then it went off the rails. Desolation was a mess. I barely remember The Dark Tower I, except that I couldn't believe it was a bestseller. There's one exception. I enjoy Pet Semetary all the way through. Thanks for the review, you probably saved me some grief!
As a whole The Dark Tower series is a disjointed rambling mess. Whatever King felt like writing on any given day, he slopped it out on the page. That said, there are some really nice vignettes sprinkled in throughout, like in The Wastelands when the crew journeys across the bridge into a devastated NYC. Dark Tower's finale is a cheat however and numerous videos of booktubers extolling/justifying its brilliance are a constant source of amusement. King's a much better short story writer than a novelist. Dustin, I laud you for sticking to the truth, a rarity these days.
