I'm right there with you! If you are able, I recommend checking out the Ouendan games that released for the DS only in Japan (DS games are region-free, thankfully), and/or Osu! on PC for user-generated levels and the ability to make your own. I mostly just stick to EBA, but it's nice to have at least some other options, and maybe you'll get more out of Osu! than I did; the game's personality, charm, and game-feel are what really get me hyped for this game, so it and its Japan-only siblings are how I prefer to play. The final level was a hand-killer. I had a stylus indent in my finger for a week. Part of the problem in Hard Rock mode was that even when everything was going so fast, you could go too fast and screw yourself over.

The hubris of the Rhombulains is that they believe that Rock is inert and helpless. The Elite Beat Agents know that there is infinite potential in Rock. The moment those aliens attempted to strike down the agents ws the moment they had lost. Nothing can stop Rock and Roll.
I actually bought the game in 2012. Beaten most of the game during the summer, but by fall I was still in trouble beat in the final level because of those damn spin markers! It took a while but I eventually made to get past it and her to see the end credits roll and truly save the world
I disagree. The thing about this game is that the people are able to achieve their goals because the EBA helps them by cheering them on and encouraging them with the power of music. The beats represent that. But in that moment, the Agents are petrified in stone. They can no longer give people the encouragement to succeed. But despite that, Lucy doesn't lose hope. And she grants that hope to everyone else, and with their own sheer power of faith and music, they free the Agents from their petrification without their assistance, which, in my opinion, presents a powerful message of how, as long as you don't lost hope, you can achieve anything. ... Or maybe I'm reading way too much into this game.
The E.B.A needs a new game so they can even the score of impressive cosmic cheer feats with the Ouendan. Heck. It'd be amazing if they faced a threat so great that they both had to work together like the Red and Blue Ouendan had to.

(That spinner section haunts me still.) Good job!

There are two parts to Jumpin’ Jack Flash that make it a whole separate beast compared to the other songs in the game. I would consider it a song with two distinct sections. The first of the two is the epitome of “hard but fair,” giving you a good challenge that’s expected of the final main act of the game. Other 4/4 songs go "BANG boom BAM boom" whereas Rock This Town goes "BAM BAM BAM boom". I think ending on such a boring song as "Jumpin' Jack Flash" after the high energy, high stakes "Without a Fight" was so stupid. "Without a Fight" should've been the last song.
The problem with "Without a Fight" is that it has TOO MUCH energy. It goes too quickly and doesn't have the time to build the kind of suspense and sense of grandiose needed for the grand finale. Granted, Jumping Jack Flash was probably not the best choice, but neither would Without a Fight be. Ouendan 2 kind of has the same structure. Its penultimate song (Countdown) is a lot more hectic and high-energy than the final song, Sekai wa Sore wo Ai to Yobun da ze. However, that didn't stop Sekai wa from being the harder song and also the better candidate for the grand finale. TL;DR Without a Fight is like relentlessly fighting through a wave of enemies, Jumpin' Jack Flash is like building up for one final blast against the boss.
Why are they chicks? When I played this game as a kid I distinctly remember 3 guys. More specifically the ones on the front cover. Are these unlockables or something? Side note: I can't for the life of me find a video of the last level with the 3 original main characters. It's either vids of these 3 chicks or some cowboy dude.
