- Overall wasn't to complicated of an install, was able to pull it off with using the stock amp harness. Didn't have to change the radio just to install a subwoofer and an amplifier in the BRZ.
Here is the amp I used: bit.ly/34xiIrM
While you're down here you might as well slap that like button and hit subscribe, it's free and I appreciate all of you who do!
So if i use a line converter i would tap that remote turn on into the factory amp turn on and leave the remote turn on slot on the new amp empty ?
Do you know what color power and ground are on the factory amp ?
Nice clean ride
So is that factory amp going to have enough power to run both amps?
I just did this in 93 degree heat… totally worth it tho
Definitely worth it 👌
Trying to figure out how to remove those side panels where you ran the wire lol.
Which ones? The one by the front floorboards or the back passenger? Most of them are all held in by clip
@@touchofturboall of them. Yeah, I figured them out. All are clipped in. Was pretty easy to take them out. Thanks for the video.
Where the factory am is. Ummm mine isn’t there??????
Did you figure it out, mine isn’t there also. Im thinking of just running to the headunit
@Trey Henson yeah that was the go. Prefer it that way anyway as I can adjust the sub from the headunit
Which side skirt spoilers do you have??
so now will your door speakers are they going to be running on the new amp as well.
No, the door speakers will continue to run off of the factory amp. You're just tapping into the wires not cutting them
Where's the result?
Idk what I’m doing
So the white connection going to the amp on the sub are the wires you spliced into the factory amp?
Yes that's correct. The amp from Walmart comes with that little connection adaptor. You'll use that to tap into the factory amp
how much was it for everything?
I used an old sub and box I had laying around, but the amp itself was $60
If you're going to spice wires do it the right way don't use t taps
There's nothing wrong with Tap Splices, this allows you not to have to cut any of the factory wires. I'd rather not cut them as you can't go back from that
Been using the Tap Splices for almost a year now with zero issues
@@touchofturbo I mean it really depends on the application I guess, as far as speaker installation I don't use them but they probably wouldn't give you issues.
Powering just the sub? Bruh fuck that. The factory amp is trash. Should’ve replaced it
