Thanks for giving my Desmos course a shoutout, Mike! Your channel is pure gold and I continue to recommend it to every international student I come across. Keep up the great work!
Yeah, some people get just get that last question with a look at the two equations. Lots of people can’t, though, so the slider gives them a chance. This question was mostly an easy way to show everyone that the slider exists and is really useful!
It has lots of other features, but I think the ones I showed you are the most effective and common. I think you'd use all of these features on every single SAT.
Thank god I found your channel. I finished all the test practices, Khan academy questions and almost every part of college panda maths questions. And I am still only getting 1400 . I am giving june exam. I really wanted those videos you made.
1400 is a really great score. The remaining points need to come from cleaning up all mistakes on easy questions and being really clever to solve as many hard ones as possible. I always emphasize strategic ways to answer, so I should be able to give you some new ideas to solve!
Not really. The old SAT had a No Calculator section, so everyone was forced to use algebra for that part. Plus, the TI calculators are cumbersome. There are a lot of buttons to push just to find an intersection point. Some people were really fast with advanced calculator moves, but most people weren’t, so algebra was usually more efficient.
IF YOU TAKE 7 AS COMMON FACTOR IN DENOMINATOR IT CANCELS WITH NR LEAVING FRACTION AS 3/(X²+8) COMPARING IT WITH 3/X²+K IT IS OBVIOUS K=8 .BUT VISUAL PICTUURE IS ABSENT WHICH DESMOS GIVES. tHANKS DEAR.
IF YOU LOOK AT THE SCREEN YOUR PHOTO COVERS NEARLY 40 % &WORKING AREA 40% MAKE IT PHOTO 20% WORKING AREA 80% VISUALLY IMPAIRED & ELDERLY PEOPLE CAN READ & OBSERVE THE WORKING CLEARLY hOWEVER YOU LOOK SMART
Sorry, but I have strong feelings about this. I think it’s very important for people to see my face as I explain things. Lots of students absorb information using facial cues, like reading lips, following eyes, and responding to gestures. I think that my videos are more engaging because you can see me, while other tutors hide themselves in the corner or don’t include a video at all, like on Khan Academy. I understand that there are tradeoffs, but I think the benefits of seeing the teacher outweigh the smaller workspace.
Yeah I think so too,I don't like channels that just explain without their faces. If it's a solution only, like Khana academy app lessons does then that's great but tips, tricks and thorough explanation does need me to see a face especially because it not a note.
Why exactly would elderly people be watching an SAT tutorial.. I guess if they want to tutor people but I mean odds are a “elderly tutor” will most likely have access to a big laptop screen. 🤷♂️

Was the old SAT pay to win because if you had a graphing calculator (Ti-84) you could do a lot better and faster than people with a normal one.

Yes, this isn’t a particularly difficult question, but it illustrates how the calculator can help us visualize when the questions get much harder.
