Gomer has nothing to do on the ship. We always used them for working parties but you have to watch them like a Hawk... They will f up everything and anything in a second. They didn't pay them to think!!!!

I served as a signalman on the USS Truckee, AO 147, in the early 1960's. We loved fueling carriers as the span wire went to a lowered elevator on the carrier. If the carrier's crew was slow or sloppy, the span wire winch man on the oiler could shake the wire and cause some of the oil to spill on the elevator deck. That pissed the carrier crew off royally.
I remember being next to an AOE (USS Detroit) and then the Saratoga was outboard of us, we were passing fuel to the Sara while she was launching planes. Best unrep ever.

They are resupplied for other operations including aircraft in the video.

Technically the Aircraft carrier itself does not need this fuel but its for the jets. Also this like any other ships limitations is its stores of consumables. Anything that can be consumed like fuel and spare parts. But the munitions needed to be spent. America cannot simply bomb cities just to get rid of its munitions. Like any other chemicals munitions have their lifespan. Because these are mixtures of complex chemicals. They also have batteries like those sophisticated AMRAAM and sidewinder missiles. They have electronics and they need power to operate. Thats the main reason why America always go to wars. This is one way of the americans tagged it use the weapons for a cause. Because if they not use it they cannot make any new. America does not care for any human lives. See the Wikileaks that American soldiers are trained to gun down civilians. Do we have to inject fuel at sea like this? Isn't it over if we see fuel as supplies and make it into a container box and airlift it by helicopter? It's good to do the sea this easily. And it would be overwhelming to introduce a wireless electric charging method to civilian aircraft.
Wow. With all the new technology you would think they would improve on this type of supply exchange by now. The enemy just need to quietly trail a supply ship to find a carrier and then sink them both as they're in the transfer process.

the two carriers should get connected thru a ramp for easy collision free transfer of fuel and other goods. the ramp will ensure the vessels distance. a floating ramp will be best
You should be aware....the ships are AT SEA. Not any place where any kind of Ramp (as you suggest) would work. I am retired Navy 1964-95. The navy has done this since before the 2nd World War. Try balancing a plate (your ramp) in the middle of a swimming pool with hundreds of kids kicking and splashing. That's what would happen to your ramp. Doing 12 knots in a rough sea isn't something that will ever be easy.

it is not refueling the aircraft carrier as it is nuclear-powered...basically it is just supplying or replenishing aviation gas for its aircrafts.

Yes I think JP-5 and JP-8 are the most common fuels they transfer over for their aircraft.
