Thank you for all these fantastic vlogs from Bulgaria! Rowing is practiced there on the Pancharevo lake. The steps were once a tribune for watching rowing competitions.
The structure at 8:48 looks like an old-time scoreboard, obviously without the actual scoreboard, and the back entrance was probably for techicians to maintain it.
Nice video. I love your style. You should be getting thousands of views!Pancharevo lake is also a great place for rowing. The national rowing clubs train there. The mineral sources come out at over 50 degrees C from underneath the lake so nothing is really heated there- they actually have to cool the water. There is also a traditional bath next to the pool which is also nice and not expensive with two separate sections for men and women and other treatments. The restaurant across from the pool is also nice and has healthier choicest! The bath stands on the ruins of a much older Roman bath, so this place has been used since ancient times. Sofia is really rich with mineral water sources. Unfortunately many of them no longer in use, except those in Pancharevo and Bankya.
Thank you Rositsa, for your lovely feedback. Really great to hear a bit more detail of Pancharevo. And the spring. What a unique place. We will definitely be back there to explore some more. Thank you again for watching. Means a lot.😊
You are one of the most charming couples ever visited this country... ask me if you need information on a particular topic about its culture or its people. Keep on vlogging this way!
Another great video guys. So well shot and edited. Great to see you enjoying yourselves and loving life. The pool looks amazing - I felt very jealous! Hope you're both doing ok. When you're back in Edinburgh I'd love to buy you both a coffee and share RUclips notes - but no obligation :-) I think you're making amazing work. All the best, David
Thanks so much David 😊 we’re actually back in Edinburgh now and it would be lovely to meet up for a coffee. Work is quite busy for us both over the next couple of weeks but we’ll message you over Instagram to arrange something for September. That would be nice :)
Pancharevo dam used to be one the bulgarian rowing centers that received european championships, as well as the one in Plovdiv. That semiabandoned building used to be one of two centers on oposing shores hosting commenting journalists booths, conference hall, judges, viewer tribunes and a restaurant. Nowadays rowers are still traning on this dam, but since there isn't much of government funding for holding international events this center is half abandoned with only the restaurant being occasionally rented on seasonal base and the center on the opposing shore by some mudy scheme is now built over with super luxurious condos. The concrete box Ewan entered into used to hold the electronic scoreboard and live TV closeups for the viewers.
That’s so interesting. Thanks for all the info. I bet it was a cool place back in the day. It’s a shame it’s not being used anymore as it’s a really nice spot. We’re glad we visited.
Fab as always guys. You two have got something about you that just makes me want to go and do things and explore. Love your filming style and your honest recommendations. Sending love🥰

Just looked them up. Sounds interesting.😊👍thanks for the tip.
What Osmo camera are you using that you can record sound on?
We use the osmo pocket. With an external mic.
