Dust off your dancing shoes… Strictly is back!
It’s your first chance to get a look at the competition and see this year’s celebrities in action as they head to the Strictly ballroom for the very first time.
This year's celebs are BBC Radio presenter Anneka Rice, BBC Radio 1 DJ Dev Griffin, Olympic gold winning rower James Cracknell, former England goalkeeper David James, Comedian Chris Ramsey, EastEnders actress Emma Barton, RUclips star Saffron Barker, Coronation Street’s Catherine Tyldesley, TV Presenter Mike Bushell, Viscountess Emma Thynn, CBBC Presenter Karim Zeroual, Paralympian Will Bayley, RuPaul’s Drag Race’s judge Michelle Visage and former footballer-turned-pundit Alex Scott.
Returning for the 2019 series are professional dancers AJ Pritchard, Aljaž Škorjanec, Amy Dowden, Anton Du Beke, Dianne Buswell, Giovanni Pernice, Gorka Marquez, Graziano Di Prima, Janette Manrara, Johannes Radebe, Karen Clifton, Katya Jones, Kevin Clifton, Luba Mushtuk, Nadiya Bychkova, Neil Jones, Oti Mabuse and Nancy Xu.

I was most looking forward to seeing Saffron, Michelle, Jamie, Catherine, Chris and Emma, but Karim stole the show for me tonight, never heard of him before but he’s so cute and energetic, and he looks like he has a lot of potential. Gutted Jamie left because of an injury, he looks like he had great potential and him and Oti would have been a great partnership.

Michelle was horrifically under-utilised in that dance imo
She said in an interview she only had a hour to train, while other celebrities had a couple of weeks or something - probably contributed to her lack of presence here.
The state of her outfit too, they've done her dirty. Everyone else had flowy dresses that twirled when they spun and she was wearing a bodycon with a slit like she would wear on a panel show.
She had her implants taken out recently, maybe there’s some restrictions at the moment, but I don’t know
If she has recently had implants removed she shouldn't be on this year's show, harsh but true....... We have been here before with another celeb being booted out over lack of movement due to implant surgery.....
Was with her all weekend, she only had an hour to rehearse. She’s gonna kill the actual show x

Some of these comments on Saffron are just horrible. She’s there to learn, of course she’s going to stumble, but she will get better with time. People really need to think before they speak, and be a bit kinder. Criticism is needed in order for her to improve, but comments about her appearance, life etc are irrelevant. Let her enjoy herself.

Most actors/actresses have some training in dance, but my eye was caught by Emma Thynn (the Viscountess). I reckon she might be in at the final.
If you think anybody was having potential hidden, I'd look at Michelle Visage. While we weren't shown an awful lot here, she is still very fit and she *was* in the girl band Seduction. We might be in for a trip with her.

All these hate comments on saffron, absolutely disgraceful. Such a shame to see so many people shaming one girl. So what if she is stumbling and she’s not a great dancer she is doing it for fun, strictly come dancing isn’t exactly the olympics it’s just a show for entertainment. Yes everyone is entitled to their opinions but it just comes across as jealousy. Also the funny thing is some people that are hating on her are purely just watching because she’s on the show. I was sooooooooooooo excited when my mum told me that the Viscountess of Weymouth would be doing it. I absolutely love going to Longleat and me and my family go there every Christmas to see the lights and every Summer holiday to see the animals. My favourite celebrities are the 2 Emmas, Karim, Dev Griffin and Saffron.

Jane Duncan if you have been dancing your whole life, you learn to put those nerves into your moves and improve yourself. I’m nervous every single comp, show and audition I do yet I still keep my core straight and finish my moves. She’s half doing it. If you’re doing strictly you need to be better than your usual self, the judges pick out anything, even to stretching your arms which I realised she didn’t do, she’s been playing with her hair which in a comp you’ll get marked down for. Hair in your eyes? Doesn’t matter you don’t move it you dance and act like you’ve not noticed. She’ll improve a hell of a lot if she listens to the judges criticism

It will be interesting to see how they evolve. Right now there were a lot of flat footed dancers, but they were having a great time which is the important thing here.
