    Established in 1872, Gila Bend, is a municipality situated in Maricopa County, Arizona, within the United States. The name of the town is derived from a significant 90-degree curve in the Gila River, closely located to where the community presently stands. According to the 2024 data, Gila Bend has a total population of 1,872 residents.
    Gila Bend experiences intensely hot summers, with some of the highest temperatures seen in Arizona. Throughout summer and into early September, it's typical for temperatures to reach or surpass 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Even in May, the thermometer often climbs above 100 degrees. July's average high soars to 110 degrees, with temperatures above 120 frequently occurring, particularly in this month. Nighttime lows in summer usually hover between the high 70s and low 80s. The highest temperature ever recorded in Gila Bend was 122 degrees.
    In this community, the average income per household stands at $24,000, while the average family income was slightly higher at $26,000. The income per person in the town was recorded at $10,784. Concerning poverty levels, 69% of families and 75% of the entire population lived below the poverty threshold.
